Q&As

I get tremendous satisfaction out of helping individuals and entrepreneurs achieve their dreams. This is my way of making a difference, which I believe is a very important aspect of leading a meaningful life. Also, executive coaching and business consulting enable me to productively apply all of the skills and experience I've obtained over the years.

After more than 20 years in the corporate world, I decided that working in diverse environments with a variety of people would be a much more rewarding life and career. I therefore made my own career change and learned many valuable lessons along the way. As a result, I've been able to help dozens of individuals enhance their careers and grow their businesses. Perhaps the biggest benefit to me personally is that I've been fortunate enough to make a difference in many lives, which the corporate world would not have provided.

My experience is more diverse than that of most consultants, and this translates to versatility. I was the CEO of two tech companies, and then I taught marketing and finance in the MBA program at Johns Hopkins University for ten years. In addition, I've facilitated hundreds of seminars on a wide variety of leadership and "soft skills" topics. As avocations, I became a certified fitness trainer and a head college lacrosse coach. Therefore, I understand wellness in its broadest sense and have often included that in my mentoring of executives and business owners. Having worked in many industries and different environments, I'm able to "hit the ground running" whenever engaging with a new client. This diverse experience also enables me to bring multiple perspectives to any and all challenges. Lastly, I guarantee complete client satisfaction with my work - very few consultants are willing to do that.

Whatever the client prefers - I can do a combination as well. Email and phone calls (or Zoom) usually enable most of the work to be completed successfully.

I always do social distancing and wear a mask if the client chooses to meet in person. Weather permitting, this is done outdoors whenever possible. I am fully vaccinated as well.

Services

I work closely with individuals of all levels who are looking for advice on career advancement or changing careers. In addition, I assist people who are starting a business or trying to grow a business they already have. The process begins with me learning what the client's goals are and what they want to accomplish. Based on this, I create a clear plan for how we will work together so that my client has a full understanding with the proper expectations. My style is one of positive reinforcement augmented by specific milestones and metrics to ensure that the desired results are achieved.

All of the Leadership Development workshops and seminars I deliver are customized to the client's specific requirements. To ensure the necessary understanding, I start by learning and then documenting their current situation, operating environment, market dynamics, organizational culture, participant backgrounds, and various other considerations. From this, I create a detailed outline which the client reviews and approves prior to content development. My teaching approach emphasizes maximum engagement through a mix of lecture, group case studies, individual exercises, and discussion of real-world scenarios. My style is based on the Socratic Method (asking questions to stimulate dialogue) and continuous interaction with the participants.
