I was a former employee of Pure Recovery. I worked there for 2+ years. About 6 months ago my employment was terminated due to valid reasons which I’m not going to get into. I will start off stating based on the principle of Pure terminating my employment proves how ethical this treatment center really is and how much they care about the safety of their clients and staff. I would have to say I have worked many jobs and a handful of treatment centers but I’ve never had such a positive experience as I did working at Pure. I have also dealt with my fair share of substance abuse and I’ve gone to plenty of treatment centers as a client. What made it Pure superior to any other treatment center I either went to as a client or worked at was Pure’s number one principle which is the client and client experience always came first. I have never seen a treatment center that actually cares about the clients more then they care about the $. As an employee of over 2 years I witnessed a lot. I see that the owner cares more about making sure the clients get only the best when it comes to just about everything from the neurofeedback equipment to the groceries stocked in every kitchen. I was fortunate to have the experience working with some of the best and most knowledgeable people in the field. Addressing an earlier comment I saw I just want to say being in a position where I wrote numerous notes every shift I was never asked to write notes on a group or session that never took place. In fact I can recall many meetings about the importance of good, honest, note taking making sure we only write about groups we facilitated. I have worked at Pure for years, I have never seen a more professional staff than here. From the doctors to the techs we only hire the best as we are the premier SA facility . It's really sad when I see an employee who gets fired bash a company that was very good to him and gave him a chance... but you can't give away what you don't have. I personally have never met this man , he only worked or a very short time. But I will be guessing that when other professional see his post...they will think twice before hiring him. I don't normally write reviews but I have to be honest. Pure Recovery California GAVE ME MY HUSBAND BACK. I picked him up from the airport a few days ago and he is a NEW MAN. We are currently sitting together and he is telling me about the amazing experience he had. He told me, "It was hard coming to Pure Recovery at first but then I realized how everyone on staff care about me." He said he felt safe and the organic chefs are Amazing! He tried to recreate Maria's "famous" organic tacos last night. My personal take experience with Pure Recovery started when I dropped off my husband crying but knowing that he'd receive the care and treatment he needs for his pain and post concussive disorders. After a couple of weeks I took a trip out there to visit because I missed my hubby. We had a extremely insightful couples therapy. Pure was really accommodating to me showing up. I did give notice of my expected arrival, so I didn't interrupt my husbands treatment. Our session was during his lunch and they even packed us a beautiful lunch for the both of us! How sweet! I have been in and out of treatment since I was 16 years old. With small amounts of success each time at my last relapse I was really looking for a place that thought outside the box. I have severe PTSD from an incident involving capital murder I witnessed at 19. I needed a facility that understood that substance abuse AND ptsd and trauma were a huge issue in my life. Pure recovery has a phenomenal program. The facility is a luxurious one but for me that's not what matters. Therapy, brainwork, spiritual healing, guidance, and, support are what's important to me. I was actually able to see areas of my brain that needed help to function properly and learn coping skills in order to improve it. The neurologists can tell you things about yourself you've tried to explain to others without success simply by looking at your brain. Deborah really went out of her way to make me feel at home. Lars is a rockstar who is so knowledgeable about running a program and really goes above and beyond to make sure your requests are met. Last but not least, Lynee is such a blessing as a part of Pure. This woman lives and breathes to help others. She's so compassionate while also being unafraid to help you recognize you're negative behavior.. If luxury is what you're looking for this is also the right place. A beautiful home, a healthy chef prepared breakfast, lunch, and, dinner, massages, acupuncture, you name it the sky will be the limit. If you stay and work hard in your program they will cater to requests within reason to make sure you are getting everything you need to be in a safe, luxurious environment while you allow yourself to heal and get the time you need to begin to recover. I cannot thank Pure Recovery and the indelible people that helped me through the toughest time of my life enough! They have provided the best care I believe anyone can possibly receive IN THE WORLD for TBI and concussions. I feel like a new man and my old self all at once. If you're even "thinking" you might need It, give It a shot. You won't regret It! With a very wholistic approach it's unfair to point out one department that exceeded them all, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention the extent to which the Neurofeedback worked. Coming here to pure was beyond a blessing, from the moment Lenai picked me up to every single heart felt greetings from each team member. I had played football for 18 years and stopped due to concussions after playing at the division 1 level. Deb and James really layed out a superstar line up at every position. Becky and Jane who run the neurofeedback department have a passion beyond your imagination and have your back in wanting the best for you. the therapist Deb and James put here are amazing, Personally I have worked with all of them starting with Audrey who leads the department and Dr. Mary who is a ultimate blessing. I had the most amazing experience at Pure. It was the very best. The neuro program changed my life and I felt safe and cared about there. They helped me with my head injury which had given me migraines and mood swings for years. I was medicating, isolating and finally after 30 days, and lots of individual therapy and neurofeedback sessions, I no longer had the cravings because I felt like my old self again, hopeful and ready to live life. The staff were attentive to my needs and the therapists were so compassionate. There are real healers there and the residences are luxurious, peaceful and beautiful right in the channel islands. Pure Recovery was the best thing that ever happened to me. As someone who has had Post Concussive Syndrome for 15 years and more recent concussions, this place was a miracle. For the first time since having a brain injury, the brain mapping and neurofeedback helped articulate something I have never been able to. I also have struggled with addiction and the trifecta of state of the art Neurofeedback, Holistic services, and top-notch therapy really gave me hope for my future like I have never had before. I connected with the staff here and felt they had nothing but my best interests in mind. Before going to Pure I had lost all hope. I was at a treatment facility in Florida that was terrifying and made my addiction and brain worse, there are some really scary rehabs out there. This is the farthest thing from that. Pure was truly a miracle of a find. Being their saved me. I was greated warmly & kindly without any judgements. I had severe PTSD, depression, anxiety, multiple concussions and more. Everything about this place was amazing. The nuerofeedback was cutting edge technology and helped so much. The therapists are so kind and understanding, especially Mary. Although it was extremely hard being away from my family I was made to feel like I was a guest at a friends home. The homes are so beautiful and clean.
