We just ate at Pub Republic and the food was amazing! Potato Bacon Nachos the bacon wasn't flabby at all, the flavors all work together perfectly. We arrived on New Year's Eve in the early shift, just before the two special holiday seatings. The special menu was delightful and generous; the New Year's Eve favors were charming. Lots of families, but very well-behaved. Our waitress was calm, knowledgeable and very accommodating when we told her we had theater tickets that evening. Food was great, came out quicklyDraft Beer was somewhat cold but not very cold. This may be a personal preference - some bars like to serve it that way because the flavors open up more. Service was good, one beer took a long time.Its a bit pricey but unfortunately that is the trend in California as the price of minimum wage is driven up. Restaurants have to charge more for their food to cover their labor costs. Servers make higher minimum wage + higher tips on inflated food prices. This restaurant also charges a 3% surcharge to cover the cost of higher wages. The restaurant keeps that money. Its actually better than increased prices because as prices increases guests pay the higher menu price then are expected to tip on the higher inflated prices. More...

Pub Republic is my "go-to" place for lunch with clients. The food is consistently good. The service is variable, but never bad. My most recent meal of chicken cremini mushroom with truffles hash was good, the Brussels sprouts tacos were well reviewed by one client, but the other thought the Shepard's pie was too much mashed potato. We had an early lunch. My husband had the pastrami sandwich and I had the burger with Mt. Tam cheese. It was perfectly cooked although I was surprised that it was a frozen patty. I kind of expected something house made but nevertheless it was very good. The fries were excellent. I think the service could have been a bit more attentive. Once we received our food our waiter never came back to check on anything until it was time to present the check. Not that we needed anything but it would have been nice for him to check in. I love fried chicken and mashed potatoes, the bacon maple gravy served with the fried chicken is so delicious. The sergers is usually spot on, tonight was no different, our waitress was attentive and quick.

It was a unique menu, lots of interesting items to choose from. I was only hoping the Brussel sprout hash was made hash style, the Brussel sprouts became over whelming with very little bacon. Tasted fine.

Was happy to dine at Pub Republic last weekend with my family and a friend. Our waiter was fantastic. I can't remember his name but, a young guy with sandy blonde hair. .. really fabulous and helpful. He was available when we needed him and he attended to all our needs. I had an Ahi Burger with Wasabi Cream...yum. I especially loved the sweet potato fries that came with it. We also had burgers, fish n chips and a salad at the table. Everyone was happy. Had dinner with friends today, very hot outside. We were seated in the bar and it was extremely warm even with the shade down. They have very high ceilings with fans but interior was still very hot, don't think they have air conditioning. Several couples left before placing orders due to the heat.
