Have you ever seen the pit crew working at car races like the Indianapolis 500?That kind of exacting and exciting energy was witnessed last night. It wasn't immediately apparent but as I watched 5 people descend on a large table and watched as they stripped it of glasses and utensils I became intrigued. They reset in record time!Our party of 4 was greeted immediately on a Saturday night. We were seated fast and told about special menus. Our server added additional information on vegan menu and beer menu.They can customize the number of flights of beer to your liking.We ordered:10 different beers.Pretzel appetizerSeafood gumbo Rockford burger with special chipsNashville chicken sandwich Drunken grilled cheese Something burger.Every item was enjoyed.The wedge fries were very Impressive.The blue cheese locally made chips were very good.The burgers were both cooked as requested (expected but rarely received in other establishments)The manager was very active directing and using his 2 way radio. Pit crew detail appreciated.Just a couple things as opportunities:The pretzel was forgotten and then remembered and then comped but the food came immediately after that. Eat the pretzel or eat the food? The exit doors next to our table were being used by inconsiderate idiots. Mark it as emergency exit only with the extreme cold weather.The security guard at the door meant to add comfort, made us uneasy. Prairie Street has a VEGAN menu with one of the BEST BBQ burgers I have ever had. I originally asked for the burger with no cheese due to concerns of it having dairy cheese on it. We used Prairie Street Brewing Co for our wedding rehearsal dinner in December 2018. They were responsive, friendly, and easy to work with in order to plan for our dinner from out of state. My first time going was today. The food was so amazing I had to give compliments to the Chef. The girl who greeted us was so nice and our waitress was amazing. When your daughter gets married, you want it to be perfect. Of course, when you are stretching the venue to nearly 300 guests, and the weather is sketchy for an outdoor ceremony, and you need to move tables AFTER the dinner, but BEFORE the dancing, perfection is an unrealistic goal with so many moving parts. Yet, our experience, this past weekend was nothing short of incomparable. Every detail was attended to. From extra manual help labor assembling a custom made arbor, to the constant monitoring of weather radar by not one, not two, but three separate employees with sage advice on how to move forward. The outdoor seating was continually wiped down as guest arrived until a break in the weather allowed us to proceed with the service. From there, hosts and laborers and servers were constantly roaming and performing sight-unseen-but-necessary duties. Dinner service was impeccable. Down to having enough bread and butter AFTER the initial servings were depleted. Great food. Chicken was moist and succulent, beef was appropriately served at medium, gluten-free guests accommodated, and veggie platters were delightful. Highly recommended. I was meeting a colleague who was in town for work and I met her in Rockford. The Japanese restaurant wasn't going to open until 5PM so we were going to grab a drink before hand. She said there was a bar at the hotel. But when I got there I told here that my partner was doing some looking on the web and he found the Prairie Street Brewing Company. When I mentioned it to her she thought it was a great idea. It's in an older building, along the river, and had both a restaurant and a bar. We just went to the bar for a beer. Our waitress was very friendly and it overlooks the Rock River. The only thing we wished for was a warm sunny day, but it is October in Wisconsin so we didn't get to sit outside.
