We had a great family night painting pottery. Posh paint is a great idea for a family night out. We have done this a few times with our kids and it is always enjoyable. There are lots of items to choose from and they keep a nice rotating stock of seasonal items. The staff is friendly and helpful. This outing can get a bit pricey. It would be nice to have more smaller items to choose from. Especially those that are easy for younger kids to paint. More...

Painting here was so much fun!! We were welcomed when we walked in, no appointment needed. We selcted the pottery that we wanted to paint and the prices were clearly marked on most of the pieces. Next, we were given a table to sit at (4 of us) and the process was explained to us. We were able to pick whichever colors we wanted, up to 4 at a time, and switch them out as we wished. There were two 9 year olds with us, painting bowls, and because the place was set up so nicely, they needed very little help from their adults. After the painting, a paper is filled out with names and projects are paid for. We were told that they will be ready for pick up in 2 weeks. Several adults came and left while we were there and seemed to be regulars with different projects. All in all, this was a fun way to spend time with friends. More...

We had a great experience here for the birthday party- lovely people, the craft selection, quality and experience were excellent. They were very patient with the girlsnif they asked for a different color (though the colors they chose for us were beautiful). They were also good about helping the girls match the right color for what they wanted it to look like after it was glazed (they are much lighter before).the only negative I can think of is that the floor hadn't been swept before our arrival. Also a bit of advice if you do a birthday party, plan an activity for the kids who finish quickly. It's always a fun, relaxed activity with the bonus of a great takeaway moment that we can use at home or give as a gift. I wish we could find the time to go more often! More...

Very sweet staff. We enjoyed painting Christmas items here. One of the girls dropped one of my ornaments when I went for pick up. She was very apologetic and she gave me another ornament with paint and brushes to have it repainted and returned. She rushed to fire it for us. Accidents happen sometimes but the staff was very concerned to make it right! We will go back! This is a nice place to make a sentimental and special gift for a loved one! More...

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience today.  I booked a class for my mom, my daughters 8 ,8,13 and myself to "throw some clay". It was fabulous, the owner along with another instructor was there, they gave a demonstration, then each of us had our own wheel and clay and as the older ones worked their clay they worked with the 2, 8 year olds.  They were very patient, and encouraging to all of us and we all had the best time.  I can't wait to see our finished product and do this again.  I seriously would love to take one of their adult classes. My daughter and I had our first visit yesterday and truly enjoyed it! I was looking for something fun to do and since she loves painting so much I figured we'd give this a try. I googled "pottery paint" and the Posh Paint Pub pulled up. I loved the photos so I decided to give it a try. It's a small space, nice and intimate. They had a really nice selection. Prices were a little high, but that's your piece, paint, and for it to be set. All in all it was $25 for an experience. Not bad. The young lady working was extremely sweet, kind, and welcoming. My daughter is 3, so she was very patient and accommodating. We picked out our pieces, my daughter picked out a unicorn and I picked out a small cherub. Then you pick your paints. And the young lady brought us containers of the paint. Next time I'll probably ask if we could just pour a little paint in a plate or something because she ended up mixing a little green into the yellow. But their employee was really sweet about it and assured me all is well. My little girl ended up LOVING it and so did I. I can't wait to see how they turn out. It truly was a fun, pleasant experience. They had said our pieces would be ready in 7-10 days. But I can't wait to go back and paint more! More...

Though I will definitely return because I love to paint and it's awesome that you can just walk in, there are several issues. Some which have already been mentioned, but I will say again. I went at 4pm on a Thursday afternoon and brought my daughter who is 3 months shy of being 3 years old. I called ahead earlier in the day to make sure that it was ok to bring a toddler and they said yes.I was greeted upon entering and they told me to pick some pieces and we will get started. It's a little cramped in the store and I didn't get to see a bunch of the pieces in the corner because there was a group of ladies painting. There are a few pieces under $10.00. My daughter picked out her pieces. One was a lion about 2.5-3" tall and one was the letter N that was about 3.5" tall. I picked a 6" square tile and a small plate. The total for all of these items was $46. Paint, brushes, and the "firing fee" are all included into the price. When we were done picking out items, I brought them to the checkout desk and stood there for a little while with no response (only 2-3 minutes). They then told me that we'd pay after finishing the pieces. When we sat down, a young girl brought us a paper. You list your name, email and phone number (so they can call/email to pick up items)and  the pieces you are painting and who is painting them. There are also numbers 1-4 with blanks next to them to write the number of the colors you'd like to paint with. I thought this would be the only colors I could use, but I found out later (watching someone else) that they don't care if you switch out colors or grab additional colors. I had four pieces and picked 16 different colors total to be on the safe side. I only used about 1/2. Thankfully, there is a rectangle, glazed plate with examples of each color (they are numbered) and how they look after they are glazed. Without this I would've chosen WAY different colors. For example, a dark purple #34 on the plate (finished with glaze) looked light greyish purple in the container. On the paintbrush holders, there are examples of how light colors look painted over darker colors and vise versa. They suggest dark colors be done after light colors. They also show examples of what a color will look like if painted with 1, 2, or 3 coats of paint. The paintbrushes themselves have definitely seen better days. There was a variety of widths. If you want a very fine brush for details, ask for the "secret stash" of brushes. They have them in a mug above the coffee maker. There is a keurig machine with coffee available for $1, not k cups, a refillable kcup with folgers. Chips are also available for purchase. They have candy machines that you get a little palm sized amount of skittles for 25 cents. Or gumballs. The m& m machine was empty. When we sat down, a young girl approached us (high school age) and gave us a little run down. Told us about applying multiple coats of paint and showed me the examples on the paint brush cup. She explained the sheet to us and showed me what to fill out. Also explained to us that it's better to paint with dry brushes (towels provided) and to dip brushes in water and dry after switching colors. We sat down to paint and went to town. My daughter made a MESS, luckily the paint comes off skin and surfaces quickly with just water. They do have baby wipes (i brought some anyway) and a bathroom to wash up. She paints paper and canvas at home, but we've never painted a figure. She definitely needed more supervision than i anticipated. Also, I did not see the aprons hanging in the doorway next to the shelf with the paint until we were both covered with paint. I wish they would've offered us one prior to painting...especially my toddler. They said that it doesn't stain, we will see.I asked questions twice while painting and they were very sweet and helped me to figure out how to best execute my ideas. I had something in mind, but didn't realize the light paint doesn't show up over dark, etc rules as it was my first time painting. We figured it out though. One time it did take a little bit to get someones attention. I will say that they were working the entire time. Because there were so many coats of paint, my salad plate took me about an hour. I am used to painting on canvas or cardstock and with acrylic paint I am able to add a lot of detail, shadows, and variation in colors. For example, my plate was a globe (that was how I was painting it), so I was trying to added some darker and lighter blue on the plate to make it more realistic. It doesn't work like it does on canvas or paper. As toddlers do, mine got antsy after she finished rather quickly. I hoped that they would've interacted with her more while she was painting. It would've helped me to concentrate, but I understand that's not their job. I used her hand to make prints on the plate.I loved how my piece came out. My daughter had fun. I will come back both with and without my daughter. Overall positive! Total was 2 hours. More...

The service gets this place 5 stars for sure. The prices were comparable to other pottery painting prices and they have the Yelp deal which you should definitely get! My little one and I got there around 7 and they close at 8. Little bit wasn't done until around 8:30 but the girl working never rushed us. She didn't even mention that it was past 8. She offered to send us home with some paints to finish up when I realized it was 8:15 and apologized. She helped my kiddo with the the detailed parts and gave her advice on how to do it herself. She was upset patient and helpful. Wish I had gotten her name. More...

This week, my children and I visited our local Posh Paint Pub. We were immediately greeted by the warmest of smiles from one of the guys that worked there, which we returned without hesitation.  There were some ups and downs. The staff were very help in assisting us with designing our paintings and our pottery. We did a family platter with all of our handprints. The lady did the design for us along with the writing on the platter, and she made it look wonderful. Our kids made alot of noise, but Posh Paint Pub was still accommodating and patient with our family. The time before, we did a selection of figurines and various shapes... ie cats, dogs, turtle. The staff then put eyes on the pieces for us and made the animals come to life. Kate was our paintress lol. She was great. She was very helpful and was great at painting the kid's hands for their handprints. Posh Paint Pub provides a great atmosphere for children of all ages, even the children in us adults. You will not be disappointed!!!5 out of 5 More...

The owner and staff are very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable about their paints. I came in with a bunch of friends from out of town the Saturday night before Easter, and not only did the accomodate us, they let us pick the music, helped the 10 yr old pick a pottery piece, and were very welcoming. Later, when I came back, I  ended up not only picking up the pieces my guests and I painted, but also picking up a bunch of really cute Saints and fleur de lis pieces for my mom, as well as a totally adorable bowl/organizer that I'm using to keep jewelry in. They have a rack outside of pre-painted pieces for 3 dollars. Not only is it super cute, it's locally owned, which is pretty fabulous. More...

I took my 10 year old daughter here for  a birthday party a few weeks ago.  Everything seemed to be very organized. We werent rushed out even though the party ran over the allotted time.  The workers were very helpful and even did  a demonstration of how they use the kiln for whoever was interested.  The selection of pottery seemed adequate. They did have a table of non party customers in there with us but they didnt seem to be bothered by us nor were we of them.   The kids items were glazed and ready for pick up by the party host the following week. I'm not sure what kind of an experience the other two reviewers had, but I cannot say enough wonderful things about Posh Paint Pub! Rather than rude or inattentive, the employees were helpful without being intrusive. I'm not sure why Elaine M. needed so much help getting started; the store is small, and it is easy to see where the pottery and paint are located. It is also obvious where to sit to begin painting. The first time I went, I was greeted at the door and asked if I was familiar with the store. I said no, and I was immediately led to the pottery and paint (again, I easily would have found these myself). The employee helped me set up my supplies at one of the painting tables and gave me advice about getting started, especially how to paint evenly and achieve the shade of color I wanted. She even asked if I was enjoying the music or if I would like for her to change the radio station. So thoughtful! As I hadn't been to the shop before, I was unaware of the turnaround time on a piece of pottery. I thought that they fired it right after you finished, but they usually have a two-week turnaround and call you when your piece of pottery is ready. I had painted a gift for a bridal shower, which I needed that weekend. The shop was so understanding and offered to have it ready for me the next day. They called as soon as it was ready. The next time I went to the shop, I was greeted the same way. I said that I had been there before and was familiar with the setup, so the employee said, "Great! Let me know if you need anything!" She left me to my painting rather than bothering me every five minutes to see if I needed anything. Wonderful place! Highly recommended! More...
