Therapist

The intake was amazing! The gentleman that walked me through the process was A+!

Q&As

I chose to become a therapist because life can be incredibly challenging, painful and confusing. Being able to provide compassion, guidance and help in different seasons of a person's life is unbelievably rewarding. I love hearing about the different experiences that people have had, how they have survived and then helping them write a better story for their own future. Seeing someone grow and heal is what makes me want to continue doing this job. It is an amazing privilege.

I wanted to start my own therapy practice because I wanted to be able to do what is best for my clients without having to follow one-size-fits-all policies and procedures that many other organizations and group practices have to follow, due to insurance guidelines. The reality is, people are complex! We all have different personalities, strengths, needs and desires. Running my own therapy practice allows me the freedom to provide specialized care to my clients and to bring all of my own unique gifts and talents to the clients that I serve.

Clients have a tough job, because they really do have a lot of possible therapists to choose from. It can feel so daunting when you are trying to figure out who you can trust, and who you will feel a genuine connection with. I get it!

Because of that, I would love to offer up some details about myself that will give you a glimpse into my personality:
- I have kind of a dark sense of humor. I would describe myself as witty, sarcastic and a huge fan of laughing at the absurdity of being a person. Laughter is always a part of my therapy sessions!
- I'm a born and raised Army brat. I learned early on how to be flexible and adapt to my environment; I can pack like I'm playing tetris and I used to think MRE's were the coolest thing in the world.
- If I had the opportunity, I would live on a ranch and have horses, dogs, bunnies and goats everywhere.
- Thunderstorms are my favorite kind of weather. (Also thundersnow - SO COOL).

Therapeutically speaking, my favorite modality is what we call EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). It is incredibly effective and really utilizes our brain and body's natural processes to heal us from all kinds of disturbing life events. I would love to speak with you about it if you are interested!

I only provide telehealth/tele-counseling and can therefore provide services to clients all over the state of Colorado. No matter where you are in Colorado, I can provide excellent and thorough counseling services.

My clients are 100% protected from COVID 19 as I provide fully remote services.
