TJ has been great to work with over the 6 plus years i have been going. The gym is always excessible and never over crowded. He gives you the attention you need when you first get started and guides you thru your workouts giving you helpful nutrition and exercise tips along the way.
TJ has helped me reach my goal wight of 180 lbs. It didn't happen overnight and was a struggle at times but we finally made it.

Finding TJ was an answer to my prayers! He is the owner and trainer and is very good at what he does. He provided weight training with me for 8 months, and I am very grateful to him for his help and for what I learned, and overcame, while working with him. He is knowledgeable about health in activity, nutrition, and psychology. He truly cares about each client and goes above and beyond to help with whatever your needs are. He takes the time to get to know you and builds a good rapport. He's diligent in teaching proper technique to avoid injury, will help with nutrition information, shares importance of and helps with stretching and rolling the muscles, and has even been known to create challenges between clients to increase motivation. Another bonus is the atmosphere. Everyone is helpful and kind and a lot of good laughs happen, and high energy is abundant. Highly recommend TJ at Popp's Personal Fitness!! More...

About a year ago I decided that I was tired of complaining about what I was seeing in the mirror and decided I was finally going to do something about it. I originally tried going to a local gym by myself but found myself to be very lost and unproductive. I was trying to find a work out buddy when one of my friends who had been training with TJ for years recommended that I should come with her to check out Popp's Personal Fitness. She guaranteed that I would love the place and he would help me get results and I can't say she was wrong. Upon my first visit he was really friendly, down to earth, and wasn't intimidating! He asked me what I was looking to do and never made me feel bad about my figure or lack of knowledge of what to do. I Started going twice a week to the boot camps and he was so patient with teaching each work out, always pushing me when I wanted to give up. He creates such a positive ass-kicking environment it makes you look forward to working out instead of dreading it. He also helped me understand diet better so that I could have a better relationship with food. When I originally started to come to the boot camps I weighed 164.4# and in six months I was down 20# and still losing and toning ! I have been working out at Popp's Personal Fitness since 2013. I am 54 years old and my workout partner (my mother) is 74. TJ really focuses on proper form and technique and guides you through all exercises. Safety is a priority with him. We have varied workouts: weights, core, cardio, balance, and functional. I have lost about 40 pounds and gained a lot of strength. When we had our "1 rep max out" day, I dead-lifted 225! I only weigh 130! TJ motivates you to push yourself, not give up, and realize that your body can do more than you think it can. TJ also encourages you to eat a clean diet and get proper rest and hydration. I have been at Popp's Personal Fitness for just over a year.
When I walked into Popp's I was 56 and out of shape and was not a big fan of doing anything cardio.
Encouragement from TJ and watching other people achieve their goals gave me incentive to keep pushing.
TJ mixes the workouts with weights, bands, balls, tires, treadmill and other equipment so you don't get bored doing the same exercises week after week.
He is with you every step of the way making sure you are doing things safely and correctly.
My overall health has greatly improved thru the strength, cardio and endurance training.
It wasn't easy at first but I don't dread going to the gym anymore.
I think that has to do with the fact that it is a smaller gym with maybe, 3-4 people working out where you get to know everyone and don't feel uncomfortable.
If you are thinking about getting a personal trainer I would highly TJ and coming into Popp's.

I started going to Popp's Personal Fitness about 6 months ago. I really like the boot-camps, it helps keep me motivated. The class size is still small enough where TJ (the owner/ trainer) can ensure you are using the proper form. He makes sure you are doing the exercise correctly and explains why it's important. During the class he also talks about other things that will help you on your fitness journey. Such as foods to incorporate in your diet, how to recover after a tough workout, and the importance of stretching just to name a few. I have attended other boot camps and they didn't do that. Through a strict and progressive Phase training program that targets everything the client needs to achieve their goals! Strength training, cardio, core, balance, nutrition. Every week is slightly altered from the previous week and every 4-5 weeks the whole workout completely changes to always keep the body guessing and unable to adapt, which will give you the best results!

CONSISTENCY! You have to keep at it every week and the body will change quickly! You will always get stronger and firmer but to achieve the goal of weight loss and getting lean and cut, Sleep is number 1 closely followed diet. Try to keep your diet filled with natural organic foods during the week. Food that has not been "man made" and had been very little processed or unprocessed at all! But with that said, it is okay to allow yourself 1-2 cheat meals throughout the week. Preferably on the weekends where you can eat whatever tasty food you love to eat! This will help you to keep your sanity rather than having to eat "perfect" 24/7 and then not being able to take it anymore and converting to binge eating! Its all about moderation. To sum it up, to get the health and body of your dreams you need to do 5 consistent things: 1: 7+ hours of sleep per night. 2: majority clean organic diet. 3: 64-96 ounces of water per day. 4: exercise at least 3-4 days per week and walk 30-60 minutes everyday. 5: get outside! Be out in the sun and breathing in fresh air as much as possible! This will greatly boost your immune system as well as many other crucial body functions to help you achieve ultimate health.

I love seeing the transformation that my clients make both mentally and physically! With every personal record one of my clients breaks with a cardio challenge or with lifting weights or whether it's from losing weight and inches or building muscle... I can see their confidence grow and their happiness and they just become a completely new and productive person and it's awesome to see! A lot of people come to me down on themselves or stuck in a rut physically and therefor mentally and being able to pull them out of that rut and give them back their confidence and happiness and lives that they used to have or maybe never had but created that for them is a great feeling!

Services

Our Personal Training package uses a progressive 5 phase training program including weight, cardiovascular, reactive, core and balance training built specifically to each individual to acheive their goals! As well as nutrition information, meal planning and tracking your macros based on your specific basil metabolic rate (BMR). This is no cookie cutter plan! It will be built Unique for each client!

Each class will include HIIT, weight, core and balance training. They are built to move quickly usually in a rotating station type set up. There is a regressed and progressed version of every exercise so wether your a beginner or advanced individual in the world of exercise the classes can accommodate anyone!
