Had a great time here was invited by a friend because you need to be a member. I had the corn beef balboa with homemade Chip. We also had two appetizers one was plain chicken wings which you can dip into the sauce they gave you I didn't dip and they were good. Also had breaded shrimp with large french fries was really good. No lie - when the reviews say this is a "undiscovered gem" or similar I am definitely going to agree. It's actually a bit strange - you have to buzz the door to get in. Â I was nervous / curious as to what was going to be on the other side... and there it is - a great restaurant. Non-members have to sign in, but that is the only formality - otherwise it's just a nice restaurant. Â By far the best physical feature is the outdoor patio - but it can get hot. Hidden gem. Â Beautiful views of the harbor, lots of parking and great prices! Â Wine is about $6 a glass and the chicken wings are very good for about $8. Â Can't get any closer to the water than the outdoor deck. Inside is a bit dingey but you go there for the sun! Â Service isn't really service but who cares - I don't go out to eat for service! Ponus YC is a private yacht club which is open to the public. They have a new French chef who is cooking A+ food. Dinners are served Thursday - Saturday in the PYC Bistro, which is a cozy dining space (nice fireplace! ) on the water; lunches are available every day in season - see the ponusyachtclub.com for current menus and hours. Dinner menu changes weekly and there are daily lunch specials.While the dinner menu is limited, the selections are top rate - I had the tuna which was perfectly cooked - my friends who were with me loved whatever they ordered. There is a wine list which is limited but good selections at reasonable prices. I don't give out 5 stars often, but Ponus is about the best value for the money yacht club at which I have dined - ergo 5 stars. Absolutely worth a visit! More...
