We had an amazing dinner from Polish Plate tonight! It was our daughter's 10th birthday and she requested pierogies for her birthday dinner. I emailed them just one day before and they were so accommodating, creating a perfect custom designed menu for our birthday girl! We had potato and cheese pierogies, potato pancakes, stuffed cabbage and kielbasa & sauerkraut. Everything was soooo delicious!! I wandered in with two friends on a Sunday, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff( i think her name was Edyta) and an incredible aroma of polish food being made. The restaurant was filling up quickly (it was almost lunch time) but we managed to snag a table. We couldn’t help to notice the unique set up throughout the restaurant ( little did we know the tables and benches were hand made by the the owner’s husband). We ordered our meals with the easy to read menu and watched our meals being prepped in front of us. As my order was being prepped, the owner came out and brought out a whole new batch of chicken cutlets. BINGO.. i was sold and immediately changed my order. The crispy, large portion of chicken cutlet, which was accompanied by some mash potatoes (with a little gravy) and coleslaw was to die for. Each bite better than the previous one. I've visited Polish Plate twice now and I'm hooked. The food is freshly made and delicious. They're a great take-away place and have a nice atmosphere when you wait. A lot of their dishes are cooked to order, so you will need to wait a little bit, but it's well worth the wait. My favorite dishes are the smoked salmon on the potato pancake and the pierogis.
