Mikey the Bartender is the BEST. We wandered in one evening and sat down at the bar, which surprisingly even had open spots. They're usually super busy, because we have been here before and already knew they make awesome cocktails. One of our favorites is the Old Fashioned. Well, we ordered two from Mikey and suddenly he got a twinkle in his eye and I had a feeling we were about to be taken on a journey. Moments later Mikey was creating a craft cocktail that was anything but a routine exercise; it was true art. He went above and beyond with the perfect ingredients, including the candied cherry, orange peel, craft ice, and his very own bitters. The result was THE BEST Old Fashioned we have had before or since. He was also engaging and fun to talk to, and we felt extremely taken care of. We still haven't had dinner at the restaurant but we had food at the bar, which was tasty. Can't wait to come back again! More...

We came in based on a Yelp search and man, am I happy I did that! This is waterside dining with a cool outdoor deck and bar with a beautiful view of Lake Dora. It was quite overcast so, we decided not to chance it and requested indoor seating. We absolutely loved sitting inside because it is beautifully done.The food and wine menu is super impressive. I could not believe the range of prices and quality of the wine list! It is a super long list ranging from $25 to $120 per bottle! I chose to have a delicious glass of an Italian Pinot Grigio because I truly love ANY white wine. Our food was sooooo good! I ordered a Cobb salad which I really enjoyed. I have never had it with green apples which gave the salad a really sweet and interesting crunch. They also add their own homemade caramelized onion cheese cubes. Yummmm!My husband loved his fish and chips but was kind of bummed it was such a small portion. When I checked into Yelp I got a free dessert! Luckily, they had a Gluten Free option, Bananas Foster. Boy, was that amazing!! Our server prepared it at the table (btw, the 151 Rum was outstanding) and we scarfed that down super fast. We definitely walked away happy and full! More...

Our dining experience was great until a table of guests near us complained about the delay in getting their meal. The manager explained to them that a party of 50 guests had just ordered and that they would get to their food order as soon as possible. I find it hard to believe that a party that large had not been anticipated and that regular diners should not have been adversely affected by that demand. The guests with the delayed order were initially gracious, but when the order still hadn't arrived after 20 minutes, they became justifiably irate. They were told by the manager that it would be another 20 minutes and to please be patient. It was obvious that this added delay was not acceptable to the guests and they decided to leave. But the manager wanted to charge them for their drinks and cancel the dinner orders, but the guests declined and a scene ensued. This could have been handled more diplomatically in our opinion. This is one of our favorite spots in Mt. Dora, mind you we always sit at the bar outside. You have a view of Lake Dora, great service (Britany and Aleah are awesome) and full menu to boot. On this pass we had the ceasar salad (the lettuce was very fresh and crunchy), a bowl of chili that was delicious and a dozen Maine oysters that were on point. In general when we've come we've always done well in this regard. Went here the first night of the Mt Dora Christmas lights so everything was very busy but they gave us a wonderful table in a quiet area. The mussels and clams appetizer has the most delicious, incredible broth! The seafood pasta with fresh pappardelle was so full of seafood, I could barely see the pasta. We were outside on a beautiful day. The food was better than on other times I have visited. The waiter was great. I asked about the Gluten Free symbols he was very informative but the menu leads you to believe that the items with GF will be GF, when indeed they might be(if you know to request them to be) he said they dont have gluten free bread and I cannot believe with all the brands out there available and that 50% of the menu has bread that its not offered. Even the wrap, I asked so what do you get just a scoop of chicken salad on a plate? of course you would pay the same amount for this, and probably think you are getting a sandwich if you didnt come out with the question, is the wrap GF or is the bread GF. Considering NOTHING else on the menu is GF, other than salads, I think they should try a little harder in this area. They do take reservations online, which is a plus as it gets busy , especially if weather is gorgeous, which it was, with a festival going on in town, its a must to get a reservation online. More...

Pisces Rising catered our recent wedding and the food and service were PHENOMENAL! We tried several catering options and they were by far above everyone else. We worked with Joshua and Gregg during our process and they were an absolute dream to work with! They worked closely with us to develop the perfect menu. All of our options were delicious we had a hard time picking. On the day of the wedding, they did not disappoint! They went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect and the food was wonderful. I wish I could write an entire book on how AMAZING the team is at Pisces rising, and not to mention how delicious the food was! Josh and Gregg were so accommodating and helpful the entire way up to our rehearsal dinner and wedding day. Yes we double dipped and had them host our rehearsal dinner and cater our wedding day and it was the best thing we could of done! Besides my mother and I constantly having to make minor changes with guest counts and glassware, Josh was always so nice and willing to make any changes we requested. The day of the wedding Josh and his team KILLED it and did an amazing job. His entire staff did a phenomenal job and the food was delicious. I couldn’t have asked for a better day and better food.
