Hired Sean and the team for our wedding and elected to go with the full service option where they brought the food day off and handled managing the line of guests and clean up. I think we said all of 10 words to them while they were there and woke up the next morning to left overs in the fridge which was a HUGE relief because we had 1000 other things to worry about the day of the wedding and Sean came in, did all the set up, serving, and cleaning up without us having to get involved. Service and communication before during and after the event was smooth and easy.Now for the food itself! I love smoking which is why we decided to have BBQ for our wedding and I'm happy to say that the food was amazing. We went with pulled pork, brisket, corn bread, mac and cheese, beans, and salad. The pulled pork and brisket were both delicious the day of and after the wedding and all the sides were great. The meat was juicy and tender and perfectly cooked which can be hard when you're smoking everything ahead of time and bringing it to a location but they nailed it. Hired these folks for a 100 person party, sight unseen (except Yelp!) after multiple phone conversations. Despite their assurances, I was nervous and unsure about what they were providing. .. They totally came through with prepared, hot foods! The foods were SPECTACULAR - tri tip, grilled chicken (that was perfectly, simultaneously charred and moist), corn cobs, salad, and potatoes. It was presented without bbq sauce on it, but when applied, it was deliciously vinegary & sweet. WOW!The portions are huge. The service was on time. Delicious!! Pipin' Hot Smokers catered a work luncheon today and delivered the MOST tender, melt in your mouth meats. Â Everyone raved about the food, the tri-tip, smoked pulled pork and perfectly grilled chicken was plentiful and perfectly cooked. Â Their savory mac-n-cheese was also a big hit and paired really well with their vinaigrette coleslaw and main dishes. They arrived on time and quickly set up our lunch with minimal distraction, all within a very reasonable budget. We used Pipin Hot Smokers for a catered event dinner and then to vendor for the event over the weekend. They did an amazing job! ! Came prepared for everything ... I literally showed them the kitchen and they handled everything. As the event coordinator I was running in a million different directions but it was nice to know the food was handled and everyone was happy. For the event vending I wasn't sure how many to estimate but they came prepared to handle the crowed and again, everyone loved the menu and raved about the food! I rarely give reviews unless it's over the top. I recently tried them at Fountainhead Brewing on 24th St in Sacramento. These people are over the top deliciousness. Had a great time yesterday at Rockin' Ribs for the Karla J. Williams foundation helping Tiffany Oreglia and her children while she undergoes cancer treatment. Pippin' hot smokers did the food and all I heard was how wonderful it was, I had a plate and was very happy with the quality of the smoked ribs and the pulled pork. There is barbecue, and then there's damn tasty, mouthwatering, finger-licking, lip smacking barbecue. Pipin' Hot Smokers BBQ falls into that latter category. Throw in a friendly team behind their mobile counter and you've got a proven recipe for success. The funny thing is, I wasn't even in the mood for barbecue when I showed up at Fountainhead Brewery the other day for a couple beers. But something about a hot summers day and a cool glass of suds will get me salivating. Not to mention their menu is simple and fabulous. I opted for one tri-tip and one pulled pork slider. The meats and bun were melt-in-your-mouth tender, and perhaps the best part was the delicious vinegar-based slaw that was piled atop each burger. Owner Sean was friendly and approachable and even came up to chat with us as we were eating to ask how we liked the food. We had Sean cater the meat for our annual 4th of July gathering. Â Guests raved about the baby back ribs - tender, meaty and flavorful. Â The chicken was moist in that Sean used a boneless thigh. Â The pulled pork was a hit as we paired it with Hawaiian hamburger buns. Â We ordered for 20. The portions were generous, high quality and the price was quite reasonable.They delivered the meat right on time in aluminum tins clearly marked. If I had to describe Sean's BBQ in word it would be awesome! People throw around terms like "fall of the bone" to describe their ribs. But his ribs actually live up to the billing! Last night I tried both the pulled pork and the brisket tacos. They were pretty good and priced right. The most impressive part about my experience with this seemingly family owned operation was that it was an unusually slow night for them at the brewery we were at, Track 7 in Natomas, so they basically gave us a couple of platters so we could try all of their BBQ selection. Although we ended up "tipping" them heavily, what they gave our group of 3 was too good to simply accept for free. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, Â BBQ ribs, and the mac and cheese. Overall, it was 1 of 2 places in Sacramento with great BBQ; and as a bay area native that has traveled extensively... I've experienced few few businesses with "great BBQ". The only thing that wasn't't excellent for me was the mac n cheese; but that is largely due to the type of mac n cheese that I prefer, very cheesy.Anyway, I highly recommend their BBQ. More...

Tried them out tonight while they were outside Track 7 Brewery. Got the Mac n cheese topped with pulled pork which was delicious! Mac n cheese by itself may have been a little lacking in flavor... Maybe needs more salt or something? But it was perfect with the pulled pork on top. After reading all the reviews, we decided to have our Sacramento event catered even though we had not tried any of their food. We had tri-tip, ribs, and salmon catered.
