What an amazing gym and group of people. Their personal trainers and massage therapist will help you with anything from strength training to recovering from injuries. My wife and I went to Pike Fitness to learn how to Squat, Dead Lift, Bench, in other words strength training.We are members of another gym over in Benicia but that does not matter to Pike Fitness, they are only interested in helping us get a good work out. We purchased three one hour sessions with Steve, he listened to us patiently as we described what our goals were that we wanted to accomplish. He did not try and get us into anything that did not fit our goals, just listened made a few suggestion's and then he got to work, helping us understand the equipment and how all this lifting stuff works.Steve has a grounded, calm and patient, yet encouraging energy, he is great to work with, giving us lots of instruction, pointers and encouragement along the way.Pike Fitness is an awesome place, it too has good energy. Dropped in for a class with my mom since she's been going constantly. I didnt know what to expect but I didn't think it'd be as hard because I thought hey if my mom can do it so can I! This review is long overdue! I've been a member of Pike Fitness for a few months now and I've seen tremendous results! I've improved my form and technique while weight lifting and increased my flexibility and strength. I attend the early morning workout class with Steve which has been so convenient with my schedule as a working mom. I love that I can get a good workout in right before I go to work. Steve is very knowledgeable and really listens to his clients on areas they would like to focus and improve on. Steve has helped me so much with my back squatting with barbell techniques which I have always struggled with. He taught me useful exercises and always gives me great advice on how to improve my form and technique. Highly recommend Pike Fitness with Steve and Jeff! I've been doing personal training with Steve for about 2 months now and it's hands down one of the best decisions I've ever made. He's really encouraging and motivating and that has made me really commit to working out. You can tell Jeff and Steve really care about their clients. I've been experiencing pinching sensations in my hip and glute area for a while and couldn't figure it out. I reached out to Steve for his opinion. After having me perform a few different movements he could see my issue and quickly gave instructions for correcting my form. The pinching has decreased quite a bit since then. I have been working out to varying degrees for the past 20+ years. Â I have seen better results working out with Steve and Jeff for the past 10 months than I have ever seen. Â They are clearly very educated in fitness and know how to cater a workout to best fit your physical abilities/deficiencies. Â I have been dealing with knee and foot issues that i thought would inhibit me from working out. We have loved the convenience of the gym in our community paired with the thoughtful and friendly instruction from Steve and Jeff. I was anticipating the opening of this new fitness center this past summer since I wanted to re-start my healthy habits of exercising. Now, I workout 5-6 days a week and feel great! Their individual and group training sessions are outstanding as I have learned the right way to work on the weighted exercises (strength training) as well as move more efficiently during the conditioning sessions. I have done cross fit before and had injuries because of lack of attention caused by overcrowded classes! Steve is the real deal. I went to one of his bootcamps and it make me realize how out of shape I was. Bootcamp is a new animal and in the beginning it kicked my butt. Our office does an outside workout 3 x a week which I do 2 x a week mostly with Steve. Â He is good at varying the routing and explaining the "WHY?" behind the moves we do. Â I hate running but I do it. Something about seeing everyone else do it motivates me to do things I'd never do at home. Â The routines are never boring, always something different except for the squats and push ups...they seem to work themselves into each class. Â I'm 7 weeks in and I've lost about on inch, not much but once you are over 40 it's hard to lose anything so I'm hopeful! Â I couldn't have done this without the group. We've become closer as an office as we struggle through class and we pump each other up! It is awesome. Â I'm not sure how we will do this in the rain, but I bet Steve will have some great ideas. They look a little crazy, but kettlebelling is a blast.  Working out with kettlebells requires one to work several muscles simultaneously.  The great part about it, is that  the moves are fluid, so your muscles work without the impact/jarring of traditional weightlifting.  And, whoa, will you strengthen your core!  It looks scary at first, but after a few classes, you'll be swinging like a pro.  It's really the perfect blend of an aerobic and strength workout.  Over time you'll also improve your balance, flexibility and coordination.  One workout, and you'll be hooked.  Try a couple of classes and see for yourself! I've gone to a few boot camp classes and I'm currently doing personal training with Steve. For the boot camp, the guys do a good job of mixing it up and I always leave feeling like I got a good workout. With Steve I'm learning how to use Kettlebells. At first I wasn't so sure how I would like using them, but they are definitely growing on me. What I really like about Kettlebells, besides the full body workout, is we can use them outside!! As for Steve, he's really good about helping me to start with good form and to build strength where I need to BEFORE I start any advanced movements/swings.
