Best 1st time at a place in a long time. Reminiscent of food cart hubs, but better. Lots of different choices for food and drink. Pig & Turnip had the usual choices for sausage and schnitzel, we tried the jaeger schnitzel with fries (pomme) and the special which was half a meatloaf type sand with a bowl of some of the best curry infused soup/stew. Not overpowering as some curry can be...but just enough to smell before the spoon reaches your mouth. My husband finished mine after I was full and he never eats soup! We also shared a pretzel along with beer-flavored Swiss cheese fondue and mustard sauce. AMAZING!!! Service was quick and friendly. We will be back. More...

Delicious, German inspired cuisine. Nicely situated to the beer room. A German inspired meal with a German inspired beer. Had the jager schnitzel which had a scratch made mushroom gravy sauce . This is one of the restaurant options at the Springfield Public House area. I got the burgermeister with shoestring potatoes with an extra side of German potato salad, both were excellent. My partner got the Mediterranean on tots with extra tzatziki sauce for dipping. If we had known how much food was in the Mediterranean we would have gotten that to split. The service is the type where you go up to the counter and order and they give you a number to take back to a table and they bring your food out to you when it is ready. Very good food and service. I live in Germany, so naturally I eat German food. When I was in Oregon I ate at Pig & Turnip as much as I could. It’s an excellent hybrid of Oregon/German food. Also, they serve Currywurst. Currywrust! If you haven’t had Currywurst with Pommes (Fries) then you are missing out. P&T serves it with bread, but I always ordered mine without the bread. Just sausage and Pommes with curry ketchup. It was a good taste of Berlin right there in Springfield. I also got the cart burger. It’s not German, per se, but it was a dang good burger. My wife ordered the schnitzel every so often and she liked it. She likes the schnitzels Germany, so P&T have got that dialed in. Oh.. and they serve the sauerkraut hot, like a proper German dish. So, if you like Oregon food and you like German food, this is a nice hybrid of the two. I miss it and wish they’d open one here in Germany. More...

The curry wurst is really good, and it's nice that any sandwich can be made into a salad. I would call their fries "shoestring" so if you like that, you'll like their fries. For my preference, they're too thin. More...

The details of the building are spectacular. The food was flavorful, plentiful, and well thought out. The atmosphere had everything you want. What an amazing place! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for something special. An old church with a pub and bakery inside felt like was in the dining hall at Hogwarts. Everything here tastes so good and is so fresh. The brats they hand make are so good, I've never had one in the states quite like it. I love the rueben and the fondue grilled cheese is my absolute favorite. Addicting I might add. For lighter fare, they also make great salads! The Abbey is a nice space too.
