I teach private piano lessons. My goal for my students is to train them so they can become independent pianists, playing the music they love to play.

What do you love most about your job?
I love teaching piano, discerning how individual students learn and tailoring lessons to their learning styles as much as possible. I love playing duets with them!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Teaching piano is not a business. Rather, I think of it as inspiring my students to love music and to enjoy playing piano. That is not work and it is not a business.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am happy to have an interview with prospective students and we can determine if we would mutually like to venture upon piano lessons together!
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
During the time businesses were shut down, I continued with all of my students by teaching them online which is not the best for piano lessons but it was better than no lessons at all. I returned to in-person lessons the instant it was allowed in the church where I teach. Make-up lessons are now done online which is very convenient and better than nothing.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
This is not a problem with one student leaving from a session and 15 minutes before the next comes in. Lessons are in a private studio in the church and that studio is the Music Suite which is in a wing of the building that is used only by the music staff of 3 people plus myself.
Piano Lessons
Lessons are private. 45 minutes per week. Young beginners (5-7 years of age) may begin with 30 minutes and increase to 45 minutes when we can no longer complete a lesson in 30 minutes, usually that is 3 months or less, even for 5 year-olds.
PIANO LESSONS ARE FUN!
Even learning to play serious classical music is delightful.
Lessons include becoming familiar with the piano keys, reading music, piano technique, music theory based on the piano, learning beautiful and fun songs to play, playing duets.
Students are encouraged to perform at any opportunity and given support in preparing to perform.
