Mark is fantastic. He is patient with his explanations and quick to warn against ideas that won't work well, irrespective of how excited we might be about them. This is critical when you don't have the expertise yourself and have to hire it instead.

He's not a "yes" man, otherwise we'd have ended up with an incoherent mix of clashing styles. He knows what looks good and ensures he balances our preferences with what works well across an entire space.

Mark is also great at managing us, another critical characteristic given our work commitments. He's persistent while being professional, which ensures progress.

He has a wealth of knowledge, not just in the realm of decorating, but also about the building trades that are needed to create a beautiful project. He vets and oversees contractors thoroughly, monitoring their work to completion. We've been very pleased by the workmanship we've received, which we owe to his project management and relationships with high-performing tradespeople.

Working with Mark, the principal of Phillip Harrison, has truly been a great experience. My wife and I were looking for a design professional for various projects updating our current home and that's when we found Mark. From the initial consultation to final project closeout has been seamless, and he did a great job in guiding us throughout the process. Our design aesthetics meshed very well, and he took the time to listen to what our vision was and presented us with multiple options, whether we were doing major work such as redoing the kitchen, or simply replacing the curtains. Even if it was on a weekend or after work, my wife and I always appreciated that Mark would make himself available to visit with us whenever a large design decision needed to be made whether it was at our home or a vendor's showroom. He also provided peace of mind being onsite whenever we had contractors performing work, ensuring that everything was done to what we were quoted and his design requirements. Logistically, it was very easy to communicate with him and exchange ideas, see visual representations, schedule work/meetings, and handling simple tasks such as billing. We LOVE our space! From start to finish - Mark did an amazing job. We hired Mark to design the first floor of our new home. He took the time to get to know us and our likes/dislikes — blew us away with his design ideas and perfect use of space. We couldn’t be more pleased with the finished project. Mark did a great job listening to my family's needs when redecorating our bedrooms. He spent some time getting know us and understanding how we use each room. He chose pieces that would be comfortable and fun and he stayed within budget. Mark also helped us review our current library of art work to select pieces that work in each room that he redesigned.
