I called in an order an all-white arrangement to be delivered, for sympathies. I don't live in SF, and never saw the arrangement, but to this day, I have received compliments on the arrangement (and it was ordered two years ago!)

I love this local florist because they have gorgeous arrangements, reasonable prices, and fantastic customer service.  Today I ordered an arrangement for a colleague in the hospital and needed a receipt.  Not only was the receipt texted to me in a timely manner, but a photo of the arrangement as well.  And then later I was notified that the flowers had been delivered and that she loved them.  That's above and beyond great service in my opinion.  I highly recommend this florist. An example of their 2 dozen rose bouquet... roses look too open and a bit wilted on the edges, yellow contrasts too much with the roses and greenery seems to be places haphazardly. I came to Annette 2 weeks before my wedding looking for flowers & seriously I lucked out. Not only are her designs beautiful & tasteful, she is very upfront & budget conscious. She easily could have talked me into bigger arrangements but she was so honest, telling me which ones I could skip & which of the flowers I liked may cost me more.When we met to discuss my wedding it was a Saturday with a bunch of proms going on & it was very clear that she puts her heart into every arrangement, corsage, boutonniere no matter how large or small.For my wedding day, we showed up to the venue & everything was delivered and set exactly as discussed. Upon finding out that my mom had been in a car accident, I contacted Petals to see if same day delivery was still possible given it was almost 4pm.  The woman whom I spoke with was very sweet and said she would try her best to deliver an arrangement that evening otherwise it would not arrive until the next morning.  I was completely okay with that.  To my surprise, less than 2 hours after placing the order, my Mom called me to thank me for the arrangement!  It really made her day.  Petals went above and beyond! I grew up in West Portal so I only knew Petals by what I saw when walking past their shop (it appears as a small boutique flower shop). Therefore when my mom suggested Petals for my wedding, I was initially hesitant in using a flower company that did not appear to specialize in weddings. I am so glad I trusted my mom and went with Petals! The flowers were absolutely stunning and Annette delivered exactly what I envisioned! Because I was not looking for the traditional style wedding bouquets and arrangements, nor a style that seemed to be trending (Sept 2017), I had multiple meetings with Annette to discuss what I was looking for. The time and effort she spent with me during these meetings made me feel comfortable that she understood my vision and I felt that she really cared about the look I was requesting. Due to my very specific flower and style requests, I was worried that the cost would be more than I was willing to spend for flowers. Annette was awesome and worked with me on flowers that fit my budget while still being able to provide the flowers I "had to have." On the big day I arrived and found my gorgeous bouquet was everything I wanted and more. Annette completely got "me" and my style. Everyone attending commented how beautiful the flowers were. One guest, who's parents own a flower shop in the midwest, even sent photos to her parents showing them how impressed she was with the flowers and arrangements. I live in Dallas and called Petals and spoke to Annette about a flower arrangement for my four year old granddaughter who lives near Petals.  I spoke to Annette and told her what I had envisioned (I'm not a very creative person!), and she explained while she didn't have exactly what my (vague) description entailed, she said if I decided to go with Petals, she'd give my little princess a beautiful arrangement suitable for a four year old who loves princesses. It was PERFECT! Annette at Petals just proved the wisdom in buying local and trusting proven artistry.  My sister was out of the country on my birthday, and pre-arranged a delivery for me from Petals.  To surprise me, when Annette asked her whether it was okay to leave them on the porch and whether my sister wanted Annette to make a confirmation call, she said it was fine to leave them with no confirmation - which in her neighborhood would be fine.  Unfortunately the beautiful bouquet was stolen from my porch! (People can be awful).  Today the whole story became clear, and when I phoned Annette, she was beside herself.  She described the exact bouquet she had created and read me the message from my sister.  She then created me a lovely little "replacement" bouquet and re-wrote the card, as we are established customers and she felt so bad about the theft.  And this, friends, is what happens when you build a relationship with a talented and committed local business person. We hired Annette to provide the flowers for our wedding.  We had a (relatively) small wedding, and a small floral budget to go with it.  Many other florists that we researched in the city had "minimum wedding orders of over $$$$".  Annette was NOT like that!  We gave her our budget, and she tried her best to create beautiful arrangements within our price range.We were planning our SF wedding from out of state, and Annette was great to work with over the phone and through email.  We sent her photos of arrangements that I loved, and she found flowers that were in season to create arrangements that fit my style.  They were exactly what I wanted with a little "Annette flair" thrown in.  She did a fantastic job, even around the busy wedding + graduation season.  I would definitely recommend her! So, so great.  I stopped in here on Mother's Day thinking I might supplement my gift for Mom with a bouquet.  All I had to say was that my mom would probably like the pink daisies they had out in the shop and within (no joke) 10 minutes, was presented with the most beautiful bouquet I've ever seen.  The two florists were both welcoming and friendly even though I was wandering in on what is probably one of their busiest days of the year, and the price was totally reasonable for the stunning flowers I walked out with.  Will absolutely be back! Petal Flowers is a GREAT place not only to get a beautiful flowers for any occasion but also to spend a beautiful day and have a party with friends to relax and learn about the flowers as well as making your own bouquet. On Sunday afternoon we had a great learning class about flowers. Annette let us to include our kids (11-13 years old) which made a great play day.  She organized everything from getting flowers and vases to arranging a little tea party. Petals on West Portal was our wedding florist, and it was such a treat to work with someone so thorough, detail oriented, professional, and lovely. Annette took down a lot of notes when we sat down a few months before our wedding. She provided us with a (VERY) reasonable flat quote based on the size and number of floral arrangements. Then we met with her again few weeks before the wedding to finalize everything. She was so down to earth, easy to talk to, and open minded. She was able to articulate exactly what I envisioned and created arrangements more spectacular than I could have imagined. When she delivered my bouquet, I cried! She greeted me with a hug and I genuinely felt she was so happy to be a part of making our day special. The unique boutonnières she created were the perfect blend of quirky, funky, and whimsical. Everything was absolutely perfect and even more beautiful than I expected. Prior to the big date, we sat down several times to go over the details of the proposal encompassing the theme, colors, types of flowers, etc. She offered creative and unique ideas to choose from and carefully listened and carried out the details of my requests.Additionally, Annette helped to come up with ways to re-purpose the ceremony flowers for the reception and cocktail hour, which helped to get the most for my budget. I can write pages about all the amazing pieces she put together in a very beautiful and cohesive manner. The florist at Petals is very creative and sensitive to the needs of her customers and the occasions that they are celebrating. Our family loves this flower shop and today I received three bouquets from my children who did not realize they were all sending flowers. Each arrangement was absolutely unique... Annette is absolutely amazing. She did all the flowers for my wedding ceremony and reception, as well as bouquets, corsages and bouitineers. I had a hard time coming up with a vision for flowers but knew the colors and theme I wanted. She knew right away what would look great and started showing me pictures and ideas, all while making sure we were working within our budget. Her skills and creativity were beyond what I could have imagined. Both herself and husband bent backwards for me making sure everything was perfect. She even made a special trip to the church and reception a week before to see if anything needed to be moved, and visualize where everything would be set. On the day of the wedding, the flowers were drop dead gorgeous. It was the perfect combination of colors, whites and greens. I received so many compliments from guests on the flowers and may people told me it looked like they came straight out of a couture bridal magazine. Not only are her skills and creativity amazing, but she is punctual, kind, listens to detail and quick to respond. I went with Petals on a recommendation and could not have been more pleased. Annette is a true floral artist and was able to produced displays that were a highlight at my wife's 50th birthday party. Because it was a party I didn't want things to look too much like a wedding, she knew just what I needed. Her displays synthesize both colors and textures in a way that I thought was unique. Annette did a terrific job with the flowers for our wedding.I had been getting flowers from the Petals shop for birthdays and anniversaries and have always liked Annette's designs.  So I naturally went to Annette when we were planning for our wedding reception at the San Francisco zoo.We asked Annette for a bolder, non-traditional color palette and we mentioned that we liked anthuriums, lime-green cymbidiums, artichokes, banksias, etc.  We also asked for a boutonniere with succulents.  Annette asked for a budget and then made further recommendations to show us which flowers might work.We couldn't be more delighted with the results.  The arrangements were vibrant, exotic, and memorable.  Everyone at the reception raved about them.Annette was a joy to work with and we really appreciate how she helped make our wedding so special.
