What an incredible shopping experience. Quiet, unpretentious showroom filled with beautiful things (none for sale:) all samples) and an extremely friendly, helpful and enthusiastic shop person who happily dug through reams of samples to help me find just the right shade of leather for my sofa. like another reviewer i haven't gotten my sofa yet (actually haven't even ordered it yet) and am already 100% sold. i'm not going anywhere else for my sofa needs! i'm going to be moving to portland soon and i knew that i was going to leave my old sofa behind. once i decided on an apartment i knew i would have to get a sense of where to get a sofa from.i had some time to kill while i was in town and after reading about perch and seeing their website i figured it was worth stopping in - after all, you don't know what a sofa feels like until you sit in it.not only did i get a good amount of sofas to try out and fabrics to consider but i got hands down the most enjoyable customer service experience i've ever had when furniture shopping. furniture shopping is way more enjoyable for me that clothes shopping, but certainly there is always a question of whether you are getting a good product for your money since so much of it is unseen. i don't question that at all with this business. megan, a new employee (and i was glad she admitted she was new and didn't try to pretend she was an expert) and jonathan (1/2 of the ownership) were an absolute blast to spend time with. i was even more impressed that they are willing to come out to your place to give feedback on sofa sizing/options and they offer a loaner couch for $100 which includes delivery. no high pressure tactics (which turns me off immediately), just real people and a real product at a real price, just to your liking.100% sold! My sofa from perch furniture just arrived. It is by far the greatest couch I have ever sat on. The fabric is performance velvet and it's so soft.   The employees were extremely helpful with designing my own chair. There was no pressure from a sales person. Such a pleasant experience. I haven't even had my sofa delivered yet and I'm so thrilled with the customer service I've received that I had to hop on here and give a review. The gorgeous fabric we had chosen for our couch was unfortunately on back order, which meant production was at a stand still. I was extra stressed because I was having not only a huge birthday/ housewarming party, but also would have company staying with us and the sofa was going to be an unceremonious crash pad until our guest bed got in. Not to mention all my other chairs (living room chairs, dining chairs) were either on back order or were custom projects themselves.     Needless to say, I was in a bad spot and when I got the news from Perch I was basically steadying myself to rent furniture for the party (which seemed ridiculous, but people have to sit). When I called Audrey back, and told her my situation, she had the brilliant idea to just get me an awesome loaner sofa in the meantime. They even worked it out to bring it into the apartment at no trouble to me. So we've got a loaner for the next month while things work themselves out.   Between the design process with Trish, who was knowledgable and friendly with great ideas, to Audrey who worked out my bad situation and was a total pleasure to deal with, to Jonathan who coordinated/ approved and personally delivered the sofa with Audrey in the simplest furniture delivery I've ever seen, this place gets top marks.    I always think that a company is only as good as its bad situations and this proves it once again. They are total pros here and this company is an absolute gem! Don't waste your time with an impersonal experience and an imperfect sofa, just go to these guys and get a sofa with nothing left to be desired. More...

Yep. This is a classy company--and they create beautiful pieces of furniture. As first-time homebuyers, we thought it might be fun for a change to buy nice, quality pieces for a change so we popped into Perch on a whim and shoowee! Those couches are gorgeous. And comfortable. Plus you can customize each piece to fit your needs. Firm, smooshy, taller, bulkier, an added chaise lounge, you name it. Genius. To top it off, the sales folks really know what they're doing. Let's just say we were headed down the wrong color and material path in the beginning before we were steered in a much lovelier direction. This place is quality craftsmanship at its finest. We've bought a couch, some loveseats and some chairs from Perch on a few different occasions, and we are huge fans. I usually find it overwhelming to buy furniture, but the Perch staff are so helpful. They do a wonderful job of helping you pinpoint the kinds of features you want, and then giving you some great options and advice within that. Everything is customizable, not only for fabric but for structural features and fill options, so you can get exactly what you're looking for. All of our pieces have been very comfortable and well-made, and they are standing up after several years of heavy use. They have also done a great job of making sure we were happy with our purchases, and when one of the pieces had a slight problem, they had someone out to take care of it immediately at their expense. I purchased a couch and ottoman from Perch about three years ago right when I moved to Portland. Willie was so helpful throughout the process and helped me to get exactly what I wanted. I can't say enough about the quality of the construction and overall comfort of the couch. It also looks great! I moved to a new house a few weeks ago and was really bummed when my favorite couch wasn't fitting into the room where we wanted it. I called up Shaun at Perch and he immediately offered to come troubleshoot the issue, removed the base of the couch and helped me move it. I was blown away! He truly went above and beyond and asked for nothing at the end. He and Willie are real people who are invested in seeing their customers happy. The furniture is beautiful and sells itself, but it's the people that will keep me coming back. More...

We bought a couch and an ottoman from Perch back in the summer and we've really loved them both. The team at Perch was great to work with and was able to help customize just what we wanted. We're both tall and wanted a deep couch that could actually fit through normal doorways to get into our rental. We also wanted the height to be a little higher than some of the more contemporary style to be more comfortable for our height. I just received delivery on my loveseat and it is PERFECT.  The turnaround time for my order was maybe 5-weeks?   I'm sure that turnaround time  vary for others in the future but it was such a pleasant surprise to get my sofa 4-weeks before I thought I would.  I visited the shop several times over a few weeks to do the whole process of selecting a sofa, talking to them about fabric, and the amount/type of fill I wanted in my cushions, and adjusting the dimensions to fit a small space.    They are friendly, helpful, and low pressure.The pricepoint is close to what you would find at pottery barn but the customization aspect is worth so much more.  I don't write many  (any?) YELP reviews - but as I'm sitting on my couch now - I decided my experience with PERCH was something positive I wanted to share. More...

If you're shopping for new furniture, you should definitely check out Perch. My husband and I bought a couch here and loved it so much we went back for a chair. Everyone we worked with was really friendly and patient (we flipped through fabric swatches for hours), and the customization options were endless. Both our pieces are beautiful, comfortable and well made. The only problem was waiting for two months for our awesome, designed-by-us furniture to arrive! We hadn't updated our living room furniture in 15 years. We have a small room, so we couldn't find a sofa that was small enough, and we didn't want to just have a love seat any more. Then we found Perch. Not only is their stuff gorgeous, but we were able to specify exactly how long we wanted the sofa to be- a true custom experience. Pair that ability with Willi and Jonathan's AMAZING customer service and extremely reasonable prices and you've got something you just don't find very often. I'm shocked this place only had one review before me.If I could purchase all of my furniture from here, I would. My husband and I had the best experience with Jonathan and Willi from start to finish. We had just bought a new home and decided to wander through the store, which is located near my husband's office. Walking by and looking through the window, we new their style was up our alley. When we entered the store, we were welcomed by the sweetest, friendliest store doggie around and Jonathan was great at answering all of our questions.Their price points are really great, especially for items that are incredibly customizable. Don't like what you see? Bring in a picture of what you like and see if they can build it for you! They are incredibly accommodating, professional and friendly folks that I would welcome into my home any day. We walked out proud new owners of a sofa and now it's our favorite piece of furniture.Furthermore, several months after we got the sofa I noticed some odd puckering of one of the cushions that seemed different then puckering on the other cushion. I snapped a picture of it and emailed it to Willi and she went out of her way to help me fix it! I didn't think it was reparable but just thought I'd inquire and now I'm even happier with the sofa...and with Perch!I've nothing but high praise for this place. More...

I'm an inveterate vintage shopper. I'll ceaselessly stalk Craigslist and ebay for that just-right basement find. Strange smells and worn corners be damned, I always prefer furniture with history and character to a fresh, newly-manufactured piece. My last sofa took me 2 months to locate and another 6 to reupholster. But faced with the prospect of sitting on the floor for the better part of a year, I compromised with the boyfriend and decided to order something new. Perch Furniture offers custom sofas, configurable to nearly every whim, hand-built in Los Angeles. Even though they're located in the heart of the yuppified Pearl, their prices are reasonable -- more expensive than Ikea, but less spendy than Crate & Barrel. There's an 8 to 10 week build time, but patience is a virtue, right?The owners are super helpful, friendly, and patient -- I must've spent an hour flipping through the same set of fabric swatches. I just ordered my sofa this weekend, so I'll update the review when I receive it. If mine looks as good as their showroom samples, I don't think I'll be disappointed. More...
