I came in with a goal to put on muscle mass.. I started with Paul weighing 148LBS with a Height of 5'10.. I spoke with Paul on the phone to speak about training schedule, technique and pricing. He was straightforward, and what he said on the phone was exactly what I got when I went in to train. I've had a couple sessions with him so far, and each session is more intense and rewarding than the last. I'm already noticing changes in my physique and overall energy levels. Paul has 30 years of experience under his belt and is very knowledgeable about diet and fitness. More importantly, he's extremely positive, encouraging and motivating throughout each workout. Everything is going well actually going superb!!!. Paul is an experienced trainer who understands how to bring out the best in you! He is encouraging, patient, shows you the right form to get the best results. He is an excellent trainer and I plan on maintaining the relationship for a very long time. I can see results, he talks to you about your eating plan, gives tips for cleaner eating and is just vested in you and your progress. My daughter and I had a wonderful experience on our first visit. Mr. Harvey got to know each of us first by asking us very pertinent detailed questions about or eating habits and exercise regimen. He made us feel very comfortable and he tailor made our training to meet each of our needs and sent us nutritional info/meal plans within minutes of leaving the studio. Paul Harvey is an EXCELLENT personal trainer and person. He cares about the growth and development of his clients. He develops workouts which fit the individual client as opposed to a cookie cutter routine. He takes the time to get to know the individual and learn his/her goals. For years I had wanted to get into better shape but was worried about finding the right trainer. Through the recommendation of a friend who has been a Bally's member for many years, I contacted Paul and have been working with him twice a week since January, 2006.

My progress has been somewhat dramatic. When I go back East to visit family and friends, people heap praise on me for the difference they notice in how I look and carry myself. I have confidence and pride--two qualities I had lacked for several years. Even locally colleagues and friends mention the changes they have seen in me over the past few years, especially in regard to loss of fat and increased muscle mass.

Paul's approach is challenging but supportive. He cares deeply about me and in the work we are doing. Paul invests a great deal of time in helping me reach personal goals and each session presents a new approach. One of Paul's strengths is his attention to every aspect of my workout. He is constantly focused on every lift, jumping jack, leg raise (which he knows I hate!), etc. While one is working with Paul, you are his number one priority.

It truly has been life changing to work with Paul. My health and well-being have dramatically improved, and I am certainly pleased my friend recommended him for my personal training.

I'm really grateful to have met Paul. I've had a confusing relationship with my own fitness, and I've never really had any long term success until now. He's been the most important factor in helping me stick to the commitment that I made to myself to feel and look better.

I've been working with Paul three times a week for 9 months, and I not only feel better, but also feel like I have a better understanding of my body and what it needs to feel good. On top of all this, I really enjoy seeing him. He's such an easy guy to get along with and we have a great time.

Paul would be a great fit for anybody. He may seem intimidating, but after a first meeting it would be hard to not feel at ease around him. My advice for anyone on the fence would be to just do it... you won't regret it.

Having been a client of The Fit Connection, I have come to know what true personal training is and what it can do to enhance your life and lifestyle.

I always thought I was in pretty good shape, but after spending time training with Paul I knew that things were going to change and boy did they! My body became firmer than ever, my legs and butt were tighter as well (we girls know how important that is).

I discussed my goals with Paul and things only got better from that point on. Paul's training worked every muscle in my body, allowing me to sleep better at night. My body became stronger, and my diet became cleaner as well.

Paul and I discussed the possibility of competing in the 2007 Excalibur Figure Competition. Paul made slight changes in my training and... wow! I was in better shape than I could have ever imagined. Within a short time I was ready. At the show, Paul was there again as a trainer reassuring me that I could do this, and he was right.

I know that Paul's intense training made the difference in my body. I would recommend Paul's training to anybody who wants to see a positive change in their body! I've never had a personal trainer before, and the stories I've heard from some of my friends deterred me from really wanting to get one. However, when I began to train for a triathlon, I thought it might be prudent for me to get some extra help. What would it hurt spending a couple of bucks to get a personal trainer. If I didn't like it, I could stop.

A mutual friend recommended "The Fit Connection", specifically Paul, to help me in my training. Besides the recommendation, I had no idea of what I was getting myself in to.

After first meeting Paul, I was terrified. =) I kid you not, he is an enormously large man that could probably snap me in two if he felt like it. But after my initial terror subsided, I realized that he is extremely motivating and supportive.

Paul and Donna at "The Fit Connection" do not have a cookie cutter training program. From what I have seen, they tailor it specifically to what you are aiming to achieve and they do everything they possibly can to make sure you reach your goal. Not only do they help you in conditioning and weight training, they make sure to provide you with nutritional recommendations that fit your lifestyle.

I've been training with Paul for about a month now and the results are starting to show. My conditioning is much improved from our initial session where, I think I lasted about 15 minutes. (I was far more out of shape than I thought) It was definitely a reality check. Even if you think you are in great condition, they find a way to push you to the next level.

Wanna a be a superhero? Training with Paul Harvey is better than gamma radiation or radioactive spider bites.

After a lifetime of reading comic books and benching 135 pounds, I put myself through as much self motivated training as I possibly could.

There were improvements but also serious stalls in progress and impenetrable plateaus. I could not get my size past 175 lbs and had average strength.

Then at 41 years of age I opted for personal training. I had two simple goals: size past 180 lbs and improved strength across the board.

Paul laughed at the first goal, and said no problem. I had my doubts because I had great trouble with gains.

I blew past 180 lbs, at 2 years I was steady at 195 lbs, and last summer was 205 lbs.

As for strength (and there are a lot of stronger people out there) I exceeded my expectations with a 310 pound bench, 495 pound dead lift, and pulling the entire stack on half a dozen different pieces of exercise equipment.

Being a client of Paul's is fun, hard work, and motivating. I catch myself 'prepping' for my workouts in advance to make sure they go well.

My typical process with a new customer normally encompasses a weigh-in, where I take bodypart measurements, bodyfat measurements and track their weight.

Additionally, I sit down and discuss their nutritional intake and how it can be modified to suit their goals. If necessary, I give nutritional plans as well.

Lastly, my workouts start with a slow buildup. I push my clients, but only to the degree that they are capable of being pushed. Normally the acclimatization period lasts a few weeks and my clients are up to speed and can do more challenging workouts.

I utilize any and all training methods to help my clients reach their goals including: weight training, stretching, sport specific training, core training, plyometrics, cardiovascular training, balance training, isometric work, kickboxing, sports conditioning, and powerlifting.

When you train with me you are my number one priority! My only focus is to get you where you want to go!

Finding a good personal trainer is like finding a good mechanic - it's not easy, much like finding a needle in a haystack.

First - you want a personal trainer who is punctual and attentive. You are paying for the hour, you don't want a personal trainer who routinely shows up 10 minutes late. Additionally, you're not paying for someone to text message their friends or watch tv while you are working out. A good personal trainer is entirely focused on their client.

Second - the majority of personal trainers approach their clients from a single point of view. They have limited knowledge and experience and don't incorporate a variety of techniques into their training. You want a personal trainer who is going to tailor your workout for you. You are unique and you have specific goals. Your workout should be unique and specific as well.

Third - Nutrition. Many trainers think their job begins and ends with a workout. Not so. 50% of your results will depend upon what you do OUTSIDE the gym. You need a trainer who is an expert in designing nutritional plans and supplementation guidelines that will help you meet your specific goals.

Fourth - you want a PROFESSIONAL trainer. Too many trainers see training as a part time job while going to school or doing some other activity. You want a proven trainer whose sole focus is training. You want a highly experienced professional who has a proven track record of getting results from their clients.

Fifth - you need to find a personal trainer that cares about the work they do. Too many trainers fail to push their clients to a sufficient degree that they will experience results. This shows a lack of knowledge, as well as a lack of dedication to results. Many trainers give their clients easy workouts and are more comfortable making the workout a social session, rather than a focused session geared towards seeing results. Trainers who care, care enough to push their clients to the degree that they will be able to meet their goals.

Lastly - you want a trainer who pays attention to details. Your results will depend upon more than your work in the gym. They will depend upon your work outside the gym, your nutritional intake, your sleeping habits as well as the stress levels of your daily life. You need a trainer who is able to pinpoint the areas of your life that may be stopping you from seeing results, and consequently can help you find solutions that will help you achieve the results you desire.
