Parlor A Beauty Bar

I went in yesterday for a free blowout to assist in the training of a new blow-dry stylist and I will definitely be going back! While you could tell the woman was still training (it was her first day), it was great to see such hands-on training and they still made sure I felt good when I left. It's not something I can afford to do regularly but I will go back before important events, since it's quick, and the results last - my hair still looks great today. I loved that they asked me a lot of questions on how I wanted my hair to look. I went to have an updo for a wedding a couple of weeks ago, and it was my first time there. Pearl was my stylist and she did a great job. I showed her a couple of pictures of what I wanted and she executed it perfectly. It lasted all day through the heat and humidity and all night through the dancing! I attended a disco themed party and I needed my hair to be big and disco glamorous. I was a little timid before walking in because I have been hurt from hair stylists from other places in the past whenever I asked for a specific look. But at Parlor the woman who worked on my hair knew exactly what I wanted and also gave some additional suggestions which I took and it looked AMAZING and stayed up ALL NIGHT! I used Parlor for mine and my wedding party's hair and makeup. First of all, the playlist they have is ON POINT and the complimentary mimosas are a major perk. They kept things fun for my ladies all morning and made everyone look beautiful, but especially myself (I can say that because I was the bride, right ). My hair and makeup was everything I could have ever dreamed of for my big day and it lasted all night! And you really can't beat the price. They also work super fast, so no early morning wake-up call for this wedding party, which was really nice. I'm shocked I haven't reviewed Parlor yet, they're my obsession. I've almost gone through two 10-pack packages at this Blow Dry bar. They're the best in town in KC whole easily located on the Plaza. Ryan, Kailey and Monica are the dream team. I've always had amazing quality of work and customer service. They always have expected availability and are understanding of scheduling changes. I also have thick long hair and I always make sure to warn them I may need more time than others and they're always so understanding. I always look forward to my appointment.  They understand I typically am looking for a hairstyle that will last a 2-3 days and they do a great job of helping my style hold but not feel like a helmet Go see them, you won't regret it. How have I not left some love for one of my favorite places to feel glam Parlour is cute as a button and after going there sporadically for at least 3 years everyone I've met there has been laid-back, kind and a hair wizard (except for maybe the nice receptionist fellow - don't know if he does hair or just supports the endeavor). Parlour consistently gets me in when I need them, treats me well and I leave feeling like a queen for only around $40 + tip. Recommended highly! I also heard they're going to remodel a bit and make the room more spacious so that will be great for bigger groups/general ability to see more clients. More...

I love parlor � I used them for hair and makeup for my wedding. They also did hair for my bridesmaids and my mother. Wonderful fun staff to work with. Parlor was fantastic! I did the bridal pretty package. Sarah was my makeup artist and was outstanding. I love make up and she did exactly what I wanted to make me look beautiful! I am so thrilled with her customer service. She is also a fantastic hair stylist who knows what she is doing and is there to make you look pretty! Monica did my hair for my wedding. She did such a great job! I loved my hair style and she too had great customer service! She was very nice and did exactly what I wanted too. The gentleman at the front desk (I apologize I did not get his name) was just outstanding! He was extremely caring and just perfect to work with! Once again, Meg and her beauty team at Parlor knocked it out of the ballpark for one of our Good-doers! The beautiful and beautiful-hearted Meg helped our organization, Be Good to People, made the day of a military wife who spends her time taking care of their home, two awesome kids, animals, the entrepreneurs she assists in her business and scores of people while volunteering countless hours on a crisis hotline. The pretties at Parlor made our Good-doer feel very pampered and WOW did she look amazing as she headed out the door to her husband's military ball. I have been coming to Parlor for the four years since they opened! Having moved back from New York City, I was spoiled having a blow out bar ion every city corner. Parlor has never ever let me down. Whether it is a last minute blow out or an updo for a black tie event, they have it all. The owner, Meg Haas, sets the upbeat mood with her infectiously adorable sense of humor and positive attitude about life. Her staff of well versatile ladies can handle anything. I have had my hair done by almost all of them and have never had one issue. Whether it was funky Cayley, hilarious Erica or the magical little pixie, Monica they all bring something special to the chair. Sara and Jessica are very hip make up artists and they can paint your face for every occasion.Parlor is my absolutely go to for all hair styling. I visited the Leawood location and was extremely pleased.  The receptionist was bubbly and attentive in a genuine way, which was refreshing.  I received a blowout with a style and a makeup application.  LOVED my hair.  I have thick hair and the wonderful stylist took her time with the blowout and style and gave me exactly what I wanted.  I've never had a perfect makeup application anywhere...unless you over-direct you never will...but this was pretty close.  Loved the products and the makeup artist was very sweet.  Great place, I will be back! I had my updo and makeup done for my wedding day at the overland park location. I am totally uncomfortable with having my hair and make up done. .. but by the end of the whole process I had a great time with the girls in the salon and they did an amazing job getting me beautified for my wedding day. Caylee (or Kaylee?) was my stylist for my wedding package and I couldn't be more pleased. She listened to me, did great hair and makeup and was a cool person to talk to while getting ready. Definitely great for a stylist to have a good personality. My hair and makeup stayed all day, and I got many compliments on them. Parlor kept us on schedule with all of my bridesmaids and did very different styles. My maid of honor loved her braided crown she got styled. My mom's blowout was great as well. Some of the other girls weren't crazy about their makeup but Caylee did a phenomenal job on both for me. The package was a great deal, and I loved getting the bonus rehearsal dinner blowout.
