My rescue is a bit older (10) and generally a nervous wreck when being boarded. After she started having issues with some of the chain pet resorts, I was traveling hours to bring her to family members when I would travel for work etc. . I brought her to Parkway Pet Lodge per the suggestion of a rescue for a sudden trip. I was incredibly nervous to leave her given her kennel guarding behavior and told the staff. They could not be more compassionate and understanding. With the trainer on site they worked with her and said she was pretty good overall. I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff know what they are doing and are willing to work with dogs of all types. Location by the airport is a hug plus and I will never go to another place in the area. Family run business with caring and well-trained staff. I'd give it more stars if I could. More...

Best kennel, best staff!  Our rescue, Finnegan, can best be described as a nervous wreck at times.  Having lived an abusive life for his first 5 years, he was, as expected, very uncomfortable around people when we rescued him.  We weren't sure how he would handle staying at a kennel when we travelled out of town.  We read many positive reviews on Parkway, gave it a try and are SO SO happy we did!  Finnegan absolutely LOVES his stays at Parkway.  The entire staff treats him as if he is their own and shows him so much love and care that, at times, when we pick him up, I think he debates whether he wants to leave or not.  We are so thankful to the entire team a Parkway Pet Lodge and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for boarding options for their dogs or cats More...

As others have stated this place is just top notch...   the people are super wonderful, the place looks super clean, even the landscaping on the outside looks fantastic. ...  I left my English Bulldog here for 9 days it was his first visit at this place and the employees there just loved him...  we are a military family and they gave us a nice mil discount and we really appreciated that. We also got a discount for first time visit .... i first  communicated with them through email and they were super quick in replying to my many questions...  other places should should take note of the gold standard these great folks have created!!!!Jerry More...

We first started using Parkway Pet Lodge because they accept all breeds/sizes, but have grown to use them as our favorite place to leave our pets when we leave town.  One of our dogs is elderly with issues and they both drag us into the lobby when we arrive, excited for their stay.  We like that their manager lives on site, in case of any emergencies. Garrett and all of the crew at Parkway Pet Lodge go above and beyond to be sure that our nervous nelly, Mabel, is safe, happy, and well cared-for during her stays. We really appreciate the time they were willing to work with an anxious dog to make sure that she feels comfortable. I didn't know if she'd even be willing to come out of her kennel, but she loved running in the play space! Thank you for being willing to work with a "special needs" dog. I don't know what we'd do without you!I also appreciated the tour we were given before our first stay. The staff have an excellent communication system to ensure that all pet care is well-documented and to be certain that every client receives his/her medications or other special requirements. The kennels are clean, and dogs have free access to their own outside runs. I also appreciate the fact that they provide individual outside play time so that all dogs can safely enjoy the lovely fenced yard. More...

I board my dachshund Toby here. When I first called to inquire, I was told I could stop in anytime no appt. required- which I did. I happened to come in and was given a no holes barred tour of every area including the cattery( I think that's how it's spelled). Everything was clean and wonderful. I was glad to find out the floors In The kennel are heated! I've been using Parkway ever since and love it. Toby can be a nervous Nellie but the kindness he is shown there really reflects in his excitement to see Bob, Ivy, Garrett, Rachel, Madison, Jeff - literally the whole staff!! They are all fantastic. ( apologies if I left anyone out) The proximity to the airport is very convenient. If you are looking for a place to board your animal- dog, cat, bird, lizard whatever, give them a try. More...

I was referred to Parkway by several of my dog rescue friends and they did not disappoint. I have three pit bull type dogs, varying 40, 50, and 60lbs and two of them don't get along. Because of the many referrals I received for this place, I felt comfortable that they could handle them just fine. And they did! The establishment itself was clean and I loved the bright colored walls. It is much larger than it looks from the exterior.  I received updates while I was gone and was able to check out photos of my pups on their FB page. My pups had their usual upbeat personalities when I went to pick them up so I know they had a good time and weren't stressed out. The staff was pleasant and even helped me load my dogs into my car. There are ample fenced in areas for them to get some fresh air during their stay and I wasn't worried one bit about my dog reactive gal. I will definitely use their kennel again next time I go out of town. And mind you -- I live near Monroeville so this was quite a trek for me to take my kids there, but, when you find a quality place, you do those kinds of things. More...

I needed to board my Pit Bull recently, so I checked Yelp and saw good reviews for the Parkway Pet Resort.  So, about a week before I needed to board him, he and I paid them a spur of the moment visit.  Let me say at the outset that I was VERY apprehensive as I'd never boarded Sultan before, or any other of my dogs as well.  We were both given a welcoming greeting, and one of us was given a treat.  We were offered a tour, which encompassed basically each and every area of the place.  What I found was this:  the whole place was very clean, and everyone we met was very friendly both to me and my boy.  We were shown the kennels, the outdoor play areas, and the area where meals are prepped.  Everything I needed to know was very well explained, and I was invited to act questions.  When we returned to the lobby, I was given a complete list of prices for the basic boarding and for extras, and I found the prices to be reasonable.  All my apprehensions allayed, I made the arrangements.  While I was away, they sent me some VERY cute (of course!!) pics of Sultan, which made me feel even better about boarding him.  Skipping ahead, Sultan and I had a very happy reunion, I was given a rundown of how it went and what he did, and he happily wagged goodbye to his new pals.  I absolutely will board Sultan at  Parkway again, and I will feel confident that he will be in good hands. LOVE Parkway Kennels!  The staff members are always friendly to us and know how to deal with our crazy, tempermental Daschund.  After our last kennel closed unexpectedly, we needed a place by the airport with individual pens (our old man isn't the most social) and have been so pleased with Pkwy's staff members' caring nature and ability to accomodate our guy's changing dietary needs.  We feel comfortable leaving him there knowing the back kennel area is clean and someone is on site 24/7. My Hats off to Parkway Kennels!  I have a Beautiful American Pitbull, who is Paralyzed in her back legs, and Parkway Kennels was the only boarding facility in a 10 mile radius willing to board her.  When they said they could take her, I immediately drove out to check out the facilities....not expecting much, I was very pleasantly surprised.  The facility is bright, cheerful, and very clean.  The staff was very friendly and attentive to not only me, but the other customers, but more importantly to the pooches boarding at the facility.Unfortunately, my dog never had the pleasure to board at their facility as her health has greatly declind and now must stay with the Vet, but the next time I need to board a pet, I  will not hesitate to call Parkway Kennels.  P.S. Bob & Garrett were Great!~Bobbi More...

We were patrons of the former Parkway Kennels, owned by Carla and John, for over 10 years.  The kennel is now under new ownership and after the changeover in June or July of 2012, we had been told that the kennel had "gone down hill. "Nothing could be further from the truth!  Wow!  What a wonderful kennel and caring business!  You can stop by anytime for a behind the scenes tour and they'll be glad to show you, no appointment necessary. The two new owners take pride in their business and services and have also hired an excellent assistant named Garrett who is extremely friendly, caring and accommodating to both humans' and pets' needs alike.  We arrived to tour the kennel and book a stay for our three dogs (after witnessing a terrible kennel in Sewickley) and Garrett was more than happy to show us the facilities, as well as book our stay for our boys.No matter what you might hear about the business being "different" or somehow worse than when Carla and John were running the show, IT'S WRONG.  Recommendation:  Take a tour, see for yourself  how clean and comfortable  the facilities really are and also get your dog groomed -they know how to properly cut a Bichon Frise and that's saying something! I have used Parkway Kennels for over 25 years and was extremely concerned to learn it was under new ownership a few weeks before a scheduled eight night stay for my three dogs, one of which is a four month German Shepherd.  I dropped in unexpectantly and asked for a complete tour....was exceptionaly pleased with the cleaniness and enthusiam of the new management.  ALL questions were answered to my satisfaction. After our trip I picked our dogs up and the management described my dogs experience to me with details about the dogs personalities....it was obvious that they had spent time with the dogs.  I did not schedule grooming for my dogs but they came out smelling clean and were brushed.  My older dogs do not eat when they are stressed and always lose weight when at the kennel....this time they appeared to have eaten well!Lastly, when my 13 year old Golden Retriever was in the lobby with me one of the staff came up to say good-bye and sat down and hugged the dog....obviously took time to bond with her.Attentive, caring, enthusiastic and knowledgable....change is hard but I'm glad I gave the new owners the opportunity to prove they intend to run a quality kennel.
