Absolute worst food & rudest service. Took my Father for a birthday lunch on the deck only to be told, it was too cold but " whatever " . Rude bartender interrupted making my Father feel pressured to dine in. Asked for wine list, rudely told she could recite it or he could get up & go to the bar. Pressured to hurry our order.Country music played so loud we couldnt hear each other speak. Food was cold, some type of disgusting brown slop as turkey gravy. Oxhead Tavern used to be nice. Your place is a JOKE ! I went there a few days ago and a big waiter, a man and very large told me that I could not order a beer unless I order something to eat. How ridiculous ! I said upon entering I like to order a beer and he immediately said "you can not have a beer unless you order something to eat". I should of walked out but I stayed and order something that I did not want. He was very creepy also. I have been to 1000 places and I have never in my life been treated like a child and disrespected. I come to the area a lot but I will never come here again ! More...

I ordered steak tips and the Bourbon Chicken. Although the tips had some flavor the rice was not seasoned and it was accompanied by the least flavorful of all veggies zucchini. which alao was not seasoned. Had same issue with bourbon chicken tons of unseasoned white rice and bland chicken. More...

Props to Oxhead Tavern for making the best out of a bad situation. Our waitress was friendly and the food was good (we both got the steak tips). Keep the tables on the beach! I live in Barre Ma . I came to this establishment with my husband and two children . Before that I had made reservations for 5pm . We got there at 448pm we sat down. Our waitress got our drinks , and placed our order. We waited and in the first hour our waitress said there were only two cooks. So I thought ok no problem ...but when we noticed that people who came in a lot later after us got their food and LEFT..i started asking the waitress where our food was. At this point it had been 2 hours . When I started to share my concerns to the waitress she kept saying that they only had two cooks but I find that hard to believe that was the issue because again parties that arrived after us got served and ate before us. The waitress then said our food was on her and that it should be out soon. AGAIN after waiting another 30 min we decided to simply leave and go to the McDonalds next door because my kids were crying at this point because they were hungry . So I cannot say if the food is good because after waiting the 2 and a half hours and all we ordered was cheeseburgers we had never been served . So my family and I Will Never come back . The staff seemed to Not care and did not feel to put my order on the fly after waiting patiently for 2 and half hours . It was my first time there and my last . Horrible customer service. More...

Went for our first time. The food was good, the burger my dad got was really interesting, it was made with grill cheese. The onion soup was great. We just finished an outstanding meal, by the fire. The Turkey dinner was Thanksgiving all over again, the stuffing was delicious. All washed down with a White Lion Amber ale.
