This is an incredible culinary experience. Had a wonderful imperial brown ale from Denmark. The fried crickets and grilled romaine salad were out of this world. Came for drinks the night before, and then came for dinner (and more drinks) the next evening. I ordered the Paella (with extra mussels + shrimp instead of chicken and chorizo) and was very satisfied with my choice. The rice was seasoned perfectly, there was a nice portion of mussels + shrimp in the dish. Both times my drink of choice was a Mezcal Margarita, which is a Margarita made with tequilas smokier cousin, Mezcal. I would definitely recommend it. The food is amazing and the cocktails are unique and the fact that they had a cocktail named Hemingway made me super happy! I actually used Ox and Stone for a dinner reception after I get married. From the time I contacted them to days after my event they were amazing! There were completely flexible with all aspects of my dinner and provided us with not a single limitation. Their pricing was very upfront and clear, there were no addition fees and they worked hard to make sure my budget provided everything I wanted! They have Julie, an event coordinator that worked with us directly and when she was unavailable the dining manager was happy to step in. Our server for the night was amazing! She was super friendly and kept the event moving right along! Our battening was also great, extremely friendly and interacted with my family all night long! Ox and stone is now one of my favorite restaurants in Rochester! The food is very flavorful. I had the Cubano which is there take on the classic Cuban. I must say, they have the best Cuban I've ever had. The garlic was a little much on fries, however the flavors of the dish at a umami effect on the tongue. I found myself asking the server questions about the dish. Where did this spice come from? What type of mayo or sauce is this? The server was able to answer all of them, pointing to a well run restaurant. My wife loved her food as well. she got the enchiladas. Fresh, light, flavorful, are appropriate adjectives. First time visit and was leased with what this place has to offer. I struggled to finally pick what I wanted to order because there were a few options that sounded delicious. I decided on the taco plate and choose the Baja fish, Al Pastor and the Shrimp. Our table started with the salsa trio and calamari, both were tasty. The one salsa was very spicy, had good flavor but had some heat behind it. The tomatillo was flavorful as well. The tacos arrived, they were well portioned and packed with flavor. The cocktail I got was also great- dark & stormy, I recommend it. It wasn’t served how they normally are, but that’s ok. I've been hear a few times and I have never been disappointed. The staff have been exceptionally good. I was feeling indecisive on what I wanted to drink so asked the bartender to make something up based on a very vague description of what I wanted and I was blown away.
