This is not only the best pizza in Kennebunk, but it's up there in the whole state! It's hard to go back to Domino's once you've tried pizza like this. Sure, there aren't 10,000 toppings or XL sizes, but what it lacks in quantity, it more than makes up for in quality. This is the real deal. More...

The pizza was to die for but the service felt like I was waiting for my death. It was sunnier inside than outside, explain this. Life gave them lemons and they made some semblance of warm lemonade that was too sweet. Five napkins were shared between six people. Pizza was good. More...

Excellent pizza, with a thin crust .We ordered 4 pies each one different. Our first one was a red sauce with mozzarella, our second was a veggie pie with kale on it and other veggies, our third was a meat pie with meatball, sausage and pepperoni and the last just meatballs. They are cooked in a wood oven and this is the best pizza in Maine if not one of the 10 best in the United States. More...

Hey pizza connoisseurs it doesn't get any better than this, and no, I don't own the place or date the waitress, and the highly original pizza offerings are backed up by some excellent crafted beers.  Don't waste time waiting for a table in Cape Porpoise or K'port when you can enjoy a quiet, uncrowded dining experience in this little K'bunk location.  Only bad thing = no coffee. Went simple and ordered the "O-MAN" which is tomato, mozzarella and basil. This pizza was unreal. The crust was so light and fluffy, complimented by the sweet tomato and a perfect amount of cheese.  Can't wait to be back in Kennebunk to get another one.... More...

My family and I are vacationing in Maine. We drove into Kennebunk to stay at the beach and our first night out we found Owen's Farmhouse. To simplify we have been there two nights in a row now. My wife was bound and determined to try something else and everywhere else was touristy and hard to get parking. Both of our kids were pining to go back to Owen's as was I. Eventually the wife gave in and we had the same food, from the same server, Sydney. She did a fantastic job with a packed restaurant and she was the only server working. Kudos to you, Sydney! The pizza is wood fired and the toppings are local and delicious. They don't overpower the pizza with 2000 pepperoni like some. I like how they use superior ingredients to make a better pizza. We will be back if we ever venture out to Kennebunk again. Who knows, I may get an invite from president Bush. More...

We were craving good brick oven pizza during our vacation and were very fortunate to find Owen's Farmhouse in downtown Kennebunk.  The restaurant focuses on using fresh ingredients from local farms and this was evident in the quality of food being served. The restaurant is a small building that sits back from Main Street with inside and deck seating. Inside the building there is a rustic farmhouse feel from the large plank wooden floor and the farm tables which contribute to the overall experience. Now the Food: We shared the Alma salad, which was delicious with fresh kale, feta, roasted beets in a balsamic dressing. I don't eat beets, but I didn't shy away from them on this salad! The pizzas were perfect wood fired pizzas with the right amount of char on the flavorful crust along with just the right amount of toppings for this style of pizza.  We ordered the Harris (tomato, mozzarella, meatball, ricotta, basil) and the Stone (garlic, mozzarella, caramelized onions, bacon, arugula). Both pizzas were top notch and would rival many wood fired places in NYC. If you are traveling anywhere near Kennebunk and are craving wood fired pizzas, don't hesitate to stop at Owen's Farmhouse! Had a wonderful meal here while in town for a local road race.  The decor is exactly what I would expect from a restaurant with farmhouse in the name and the space was rustic and inviting.  I loved the beets in the "Alma" salad and it was a perfect size for sharing.  The Frinklepod pizza (with cheese) was the true star of the meal though.  The crust was delicious and cooked just perfectly, while the vegetables were not overcooked and mushy - a true "al dente".  I loved all of the creative choices and it truly was tough to pick which pizza to go for.  I wish this was closer to home, as I would totally eat here often! I love their pickled veggie salad, the pizza is okay.  The corn meal on the bottom of the pizza is always burned and ruins the texture/experience of the pizza. Also - the cheese is not ooey gooey like cheese on pizza should be. But the pickled salad is amazing and the $6 express lunch is an awesome deal. More...

My husband and I found this spot last Saturday night. We were quickly seated and ordered up a couple pizzas and a black cherry soda. The small farmhouse was cozy and comfortable. The food was good and came out quickly. My pizza had mozzarella, pesto, roasted garlic, caramelized onion, and arugula. My husband choice the plain "O-Man". The pizza was good and perfectly cooked. Our server (a youngish girl) was the highlight of the evening. She was so friendly and polite and seemed genuine in her excitement about the place and hoping we had a good experience. Stopped by this cozy place last week on a drive up the coast.  It was minutes off 95 and delightfully delicious.  We ordered two 12" pizzas that were served within 15 minutes.  Both pizzas, piping hot, were excellent with some of the best dough we've experienced.  Service was attentive as we ate outside.  Perhaps the rating is influenced by the picture postcard day and our empty bellies.  Regardless, the pizza stands on its own. First introduced to the inland village of Kennebunk during the original Gulf War, I met the pre-Revolutionary War town at its economic nadir. Main Street in the once-bustling town was a ghost of its former self. Restaurants, the canaries in the coal mine of hard economic times, were all but vanquished (save for the stalwart Dairy Queen). What a difference the past seven years have made! The Farmers' Market pops up once a week in downtown, the health food store has taken a page from its own charter and become a robust resource and the local farm-to-table scene has exploded with specialty organic and small family farms springing up everywhere.Owen's Farmhouse, 17 Main Street, has been the lucky beneficiary of the fresh, local foodie movement and exalts a number of the small local food-producers by naming their eight delicious, unique pizzas after the sources of the main ingredients on the pizzas. The Harris ($12) features beef meatballs from humanely raised beef from the Harris farm,  the Pullen ($12) a chicken, pesto, garlic, spinach, carmelized onion and mozzarella affair has humanely raised, free range chicken from (you guessed it), the Pullen Farm), and the Kelly Orchard (squash, apple, carmelized onion, ricotta and basil) has apples from the Kelly Orchard. I ordered the O-Man Pizza--a very tasty margherita pizza with tomato, basil and mozzarella. Son #1 had the Breezy Hill sausage pizza and loved it. For my son with food issues, they made a custom plain cheese pie and my husband loved his Harris. The lemonade was freshly made--you could see the pulp swirling amidst the tinkling ice cubes. The pizzas are about 12" across and wood-fired. All arrived in short order, hot and delicious; fresh from the oven.  One of our four pizzas came five minutes after the others were served and arrived amidst great apologies from the waitress for the delay. To enter the Main Street establishment, you must pass through Owen's own little veggie garden where many of the fresh ingredients (basil, greens and onions) are grown. An outside deck with simple bench and steel chair seating hits just the right note for the casual atmosphere that dovetails with the menu. A strand of old-timey lightbulbs reminded me of my days bumming around Amsterdam, drinking pitchers of beer in the leidseplein district. And beer -- all interesting and/or local brews -- are available, as is a tasty homemade ice cream sandwich, the one dessert option the night we were there.Step inside Owen's Farmhouse and be transported back to colonial times when eating and drinking establishments were called "ordinaries." Thankfully, there is no flatscreen TV blaring sports or other inanities at diners--just simple seating, a wooden bar with the available brews hand-lettered in chalk and the wide plank flooring that bespeaks a much earlier time. Lighting is natural and subdued....my kind of place from top to bottom. My only criticism of this al fresco/indoor dining gem with its plainspoken menu, great local and fresh food and perfect atmosphere is the service, which was a bit spotty. Besides the one tardy pizza, the waitress forgot to bring us utensils and napkins until after the pizza arrived and I pointed out that we had nothing to eat with. She was apologetic, but the place wasn't crowded enough to justify this oversight. More...

We went to Owen's Farmhouse over the past weekend and had a great experience! Kennebunk was in dire need of a place like this. The pizza is delicious and the fact that they acquire their ingredients from as many local resources as possible is very cool. They even get the organic wheat they use for their whole wheat crust locally. The atmosphere is really rustic and laid back, which is how a pizza place like this should be. They offer gluten free pizza crust as well as Neapolitan and whole wheat. I've never been to a place that has three choices in pizza crust. We tried two of their salads to start and followed with two breezy hill pizzas. All were excellent! They have a good selection of beer and wine, too.  One person in my party was a bit disappointed by the amount of cheese on the pizza (too little), but in my opinion, the crust and toppings are well dispersed and are so tasty that you really don't need it to be slathered in cheese. Overall, this is a perfect place for a relaxed lunch/dinner where you can get  a dose of deliciously local, organically made wood-fired pizza. More...
