I was dismayed by seeing so many negative reviews for Dr. Ispirescu. So although I'd rather not inform the internets my amazing outlook on life and recovery from mental ailments wasn't based on healthy eating and exercise. (Although Dr. Ispirescu has motivated me to do both and it has helped immensely) I am writing this review.Dr Ispirescu is a fantastic Dr.- he's kind, intuitive, and genuinely takes the time to listen. Unlike other Dr's I been to he heavily emphasizes natural ways to improve mental health. He has given me wonderful tools to deal with my triggers and recommended reading materials that have been essential in my meeting my health goals. Many of these reviews seem to come from those inexperienced with psychiatrists vs psychologists. Dr. Ispirescu is the former. He's helping you figure out health management based on medication. His conversations are geared not only to seeing how you feel on the medication but also your reactions to conversations and situations. Its part of diagnosis. Its helping him assess if the meds are working. How you are doing with your tampering off or transitioning to something new. His office staff is always wonderful and does their best to get appointments scheduled. Never any issues with billing.Bottom line I wouldn't be as productive and balanced without his help. More...

Something to note, I think relying on yelp reviews to select a physician is a bad idea. I see some of these reviews are a bit much. Dr. Ispirescu is a consummate psychiatrist. His staff are helpful and hard working. His office is a beautiful class A space and I couldn't begin to imagine what his overhead is. He has all of the latest technology and tools at his disposal. Much like myself, he can drift off topic.. but isn't that better than the alternative of someone who spends 15 minutes with you. I watch him every time, when I bring up a topic, he shares some background and perhaps his feelings and then asks mine. Keep in mind that it may seem like chit chat, but he is in no way naive. He isn't there so be your therapist, but, of course he needs to make you feel comfortable for a couple reasons. For one, he wants you to feel comfortable and take your mind for a moment off of the anxiety that is treatment. Also, and I enjoy him for this, he is watching you and observing your response to the conversation. He is reading your body language, assessing your comfort level, attentive listening, speech pattern, ability to put together logical thoughts, sentences, at a normal pace, volume, etc.Give the guy a break for actually spending all the time he needs to do his job. He often runs a few minutes behind on his appointments because he spends all the time he feels necessary with a patient. He has never once rushed me out the door nor watched the clock like a hawk. Most psychiatrists don't even accept new patients nor insurance. Insurance payments are ridiculous and give doctors no incentive to spend time with their patients. Dealing with mentally ill patients day in and day out and adjusting medications etc etc has to be a very hard and unforgiving job. Dr. Ispirescu is a breath of fresh air compared to my old psych. He is available during normal hours with a full staff and top notch practice. Other reviews are ridiculous. Something about dating a patient or something. I wouldn't dare ask, but my assumption is that this was a very long time ago as he is married with kids and an excellent family man and Christian. I've seen situations like that with attorneys dating former clients and it doesn't end well for some, but, others I have seen where they live happily ever after. I couldn't tell you how many clients I've had that were doctors who married nurses or other doctors. When you spend your whole life studying and working 24 hours shifts during residency, you don't get out much on the dating scene. I think insurance for mental health is a joke. I opted for his cash pay plan after a year because I just feel bad for him and most doctors. Giving away such a high percentage to medical billers and constantly taking reduced payouts is just bad for business. Any time I have had concerns or questions I can always get a hold of him. He encouraged me to do genetic testing through GeneSight which is something that my old Psych should have done years ago. I'm not trying to defend him against the trolls who manage to leave reviews, but am just sharing my very positive experience. Sorry to say, but I think his standard of care is so great and his personable approach is top notch that he will just go closed practice like many psychiatrists do and be cash pay only. At some point getting ground down by insurance companies and making less money in the name of helping the masses will end. Hands down great person and doctor. Super smart and knows his stuff cold. When you have detailed conversations about my specific genetic makeup of neuroactivity and receptors and mapping out what works and what doesn't without being a test rat is pretty great medicine. I was with my old psych for about 6 years before seeing him. I liked my old psych but he was impossible to get a hold of, kept sloppy notes, and kept me on medications with horrible side effects for way too long to see if they would work. Anyway, A+ in my book. He has a patient for life with me. More...

He did a good job with our daughter by outlining therapy options and we decided what was best for our situation.

Dr. Scott Ispirescu has been seeing my son for over the past 3 years to assist with focusing and behavioral issues.  He was able to tap into my son's issues and get him to talk openly about them and help him through what was bothering him.  Dr. Scott Ispirescu didn't just prescribe meds, he has a genuine interest in how my son is doing and feeling.  We really look forward to our appointments!
