I’ve been a loyal customer with OneLife Fitness for about a year now. When the shutdown(COVID-19) happened they automatically stopped all membership payments. Without any prior knowledge from OneLife I noticed in August from my bank statements that they started the payments back up in June. I reached out to the corporate office requesting a refund for the months (Jun-Aug) charged (totaling $165) and to freeze my account until further notice due to COVID-19. I explained that because I have a small child in the home I could not utilize the gym. Corporate replied that because I didn’t request to freeze the account until August that they wouldn’t grant a refund for the months of Jun. or Jul. and as for August they’ll just credit my account for when I return! So I work with a few people who go to one life, since workouts are always better with a friend, sometimes I go with my friend to one life in Winchester va. Today I was told that they are no longer honoring the guest policy (that you get with every membership) also if you go to Winchester you are paying for a pool, hot tub, sauna, massage tables, tanning, and I am sure other things that you can not use. Pre- pandemic I canceled my training and I have been charged twice for training now. I was told that I was going to be getting a refund but I have heard nothing. Frankly the money should have been used for my mom's bills. Given she has metastatic cancer and that was the exact reason why I canceled my training. Purchased a membership and paid extra after being promised access to the other locations once my membership was activated. I traveled to a location in GA and was denied entry and was told my pass wasn’t good there. They proceeded to tell me that my payments go to the location where I signed up for the membership and because of that, they don’t, and I quote,” We don’t benefit in any way by having you here. We use a different bank.” Oh really? THEN... I was told I could gain entry by, “Paying $69.99 for a month, 25 for 5 visits, or $20 for one visit. NOTE* They’re running a special for $29.99 per/mo right now. I’ve called my original gym and they said I should be let in. PTC location refuses to accept my pass. Here it is going on WEEKS now where I have reached out to corporate to get this resolved and corporate refuses to respond. Not one call, not one email. The general manager from my original gym has tried and again, no response. I purchased this pass because I spend a lot of time in Peachtree City GA and was assured my membership would be valid. SCAM/FRAUD!!!!!!!! So disappointed that after following the protocol to cancel membership yet they continued to charge the membership to my bank account every month. This is unacceptable!!!! Onelife Fitness is my favorite gym because they have a clean environment to work out and great group classes with excellent instructors. I miss them so much during the pandemic. Fortunately, they do care and setup online classes for not only their members, but also others, so I am able to do exercise home. I live in California now and I haven’t found a gym out here better than OneLife Fitness. The facilities were always clean. I learned so much about how to use the equipment thanks to the staff. My favorite part was the all women’s section in the Norfolk location. I also enjoyed the classes because the instructors checked on everyone before trying a new movement so that everyone had the correct form. Coronavirus at OneLife in Gainesville Va. I'm using GL's FB because I'm not on Social Media. I've been a member of OneLife for several years, however, I have tried to reach someone recently at OneLife corporate (phone is laughable) by email but there is no way to even email them on their site as a member so I tried their business email several time with no response. Very poor Public Relations especially during these times. This has gone on for over a month now and I'm ready to put it out there in hopes they will set up an email venue for their members questions, etc. My gym, Gainesville Va, had a Coronavirus member 2 days in a row which was reported in the paper. I wanted to know if the OneLife contacted those members who visited in those time slots of this threat to them considering the numbers for the virus have escalate in the area. I'm also very surprised they even have any gyms open at this time which I've noticed they do in several locations. I'm beginning to see a tremendous amount of negligence here by OneLife fitness. Don’t join the Alexandria location. Even if you’re month to month they make you pay for two months when you cancel. Showers and bathrooms disgusting. TVs in cardio area don’t work.
