George is helping me to connect more deeply with my values and take actions to achieve what most important to me. He is guiding me to expand my connection with my inner resources through awareness, wisdom and clarity. He is very thoughtful in the communication, respectful, attentive and truly cares every time we meet. I've been working with George for almost a year and I am very grateful for his time and coaching. I would highly recommend him as a life-coach. I gain a peace of mind after every single session with George. More...

Q&As

I coach clients who feel stuck in their life situation or who are in transition. I help people who feel anxious and worried on a daily basis and are experiencing difficult emotions and/or compulsive thinking and feel trapped in their life situation. This may be at work, in relationships, about finances and money, health issues, community and recreation. These clients typically have reached a point where they want to change, to grow and to develop. They feel compelled to follow their internal compass and to integrate that direction into daily life in a new map of discovery and exploration. Our journey is a Leap of Trust, guided by Life itself into continued uncharted territory. I am thoroughly committed to helping people who want to reach the other shore through a journey of wonder, delight, laughter and gratitude.

Services

I work in a conscious and collaborative relationship with clients to help them achieve personal and professional goals that are important to them. People come to the session with a topic for the coaching. I use my skills and undivided attention to explore and help them to discover insights that lead to solutions. I am always supportive and sometimes challenging! A challenge helps a client notice obstacles and encourages a move through these difficulties with sensitivity, care and compassion. I help create a space that leads clients to clarity, peace, joy and alignment with the inner and outer purposes of their Life. I use a integral-holistic approach of Mind, Body, Soul, Spirit and Nature in all aspects of the coaching.

Here is what you can expect from coaching with me:

Organization and Business Coaching is different from mentoring or consulting. A skillful organization and business coach rarely provides solutions and advice. Instead, a coach leads a client to what’s most important by asking rigorous questions and naming what’s present. In addition, a coach embraces client polarities by exploring experiences, ideas, feelings or needs that appear to be in conflict and holding them with equal respect. The coaching relationship helps people focus, connect with what’s important, explore new possibilities and choose an action plan backed by accountability. It is attuned to values and vision. A coach helps people build capacity, take leadership and maximize their contribution.

Purposes of Coaching in Organizations & Businesses
Develop a coaching philosophy within the organization to help transform the role of boss to coach.
Help manager’s use coaching skills and core principles to enhance the way they work.
Foster a collaborative culture.
Teach leadership development and capacity building.
Cultivate emotional awareness and understanding.
Evolve management and performance criteria.
Clarify roles and responsibilities.
Establish vision, mission and strategic planning.
Implement follow-up training and accountability structures.
Nurture calm, collected and coordinated culture
Beyond collecting a paycheck, work can be an important source of human fulfillment, a way to develop potential and an outlet for creative expression. Coaching provides a framework for both employers and employees to put their best ideas forward, take steps to implement and provide feedback, and align themselves with organizational and personal growth.

Mindfulness meditation (MM) is the art of being gently and purposefully aware in the present moment, non-judgmentally, to things as they are. It is a state that an individual can cultivate and deepen in everyday life whether that is traveling to work, sending an e-mail or having a conversation with a friend. MM is an attentive, mind-body connection in the present moment. Originating in the ancient wisdom traditions, modern science has now confirmed that MM offers many benefits to our health and well- being.

MM practice sees awakening as a lifelong journey as the practitioner comes to understand thoughts, emotions, ambitions and labels without judgment. MM practice is not something to do; rather it becomes a way we are.

I offer coaching sessions in MM practices and exercises, helping clients at all levels of practice tune into what is most important to them in the present moment without judgment. These practices have deeply impacted me, and sharing them with people is part of my life’s most fulfilling work. The positive effects are more joy, peace and connection in life and alignment with deeply held values, needs and goals.

I offer coaching sessions in nature at quiet parks, green spaces and gardens. I encourage clients to connect to the natural world, listening to the stillness with alertness while looking around and noticing other people and sounds without the use of labels. To be fully present and experience the sacredness of nature reduces conceptual thinking while in its presence. In this space, clients connect with themselves in a powerful way. While aligned, we can explore what’s present, what is wanting to emerge and how nature can inspire us to meet challenges and goals in new ways. Incorporating a nature-based poem can also deepen the session.

Scientific studies show the benefits from mindfulness practices ranging from decreased stress and anxiety to increased immune system functioning and pain tolerance. In business settings, mindful employees have lower levels of frustration, absence and burnout and increased productivity, balance and well- being. Hence, a rapidly growing number of employers are now offering mindfulness-based stress management and resilience programs.

As a CPA and consultant for business and individuals for more than 35 years, I have seen first-hand the challenges faced by today’s employers and employees. From difficult relationships in the workplace and hefty workloads to the effect of modern technology and significant pressure at home, employee struggles are very real and can have major impact on employers.

I was one of those super- stressed, anxious individuals 15 years ago when I began using mindfulness practices, making them a natural part of my daily work as a CPA and in my personal life. Now, a Certified Mindfulness & Meditation Teacher and Transformational Coach, I work with beginners to more experienced practitioners to help create a more balanced and fulfilling work environment.

Components of Evidence –Based Mindfulness Training:
I offer evidence based mindfulness training programs for business and not for profit organizations. This includes mindfulness training and coaching in the following areas:

Focusing attention in the now in the midst of “multitasking” and project implementation.
Managing reactivity to and dealing with difficult people.
Employing non-judgmental awareness in situations that trigger difficult emotions.
Cultivating acceptance and acknowledgment when confronted with challenges.
Working towards goals with presence by focusing on the journey with full awareness of expected outcome.
Developing compassion towards self and others.
Facing challenges without fighting and conflicts.
Integration and practice.
The Benefits:
For employees, mindfulness practice can cultivate an understanding of work challenges as a potential source of achieving greater clarity on what is truly important to them in relation to their needs and values, rather than as obstacles without any personal redeeming value other than a paycheck. Employees begin to see the difference between a job and meaningful contribution and recognize the true positive potential of the challenges faced in the workplace.

For employers, research demonstrates a return on investment with improved employee productivity, reduced stress and medical costs which directly translate to the bottom line.

How the Training Works
The training is tailored to each unique business in alignment with the organization’s culture and goals. In general, the program consists of group training sessions augmented with small group experiential workshops where mindfulness practices and exercises are explored further. Participants will be invited to practice mindful exercises for at least 20 minutes a day during the trainings.
