We adopted from One Dog almost 4 years ago. As I write this I can't believe it's been that long ago. Dublin (formerly Leah) is the light of our lives and couldn't imagine life w/o her. The process was thorough (which as a dog mom I appreciate) and one dog (Jennifer) really cared about the best home not just a home. One Dog Arizona spent an amazing amount of time making sure we would be as much of a fantastic fit for our new pup as she was for us. It's obviously not the end of our communication as she needs to make a trip to Phoenix in the next few months, but she's a wonderful dog and the rescue was very open and honest about their needs as well as hers. One Dog and all the people that work with them have been terrific. We adopted our Foxy ( Their Moxy) last November. She is somewhere between 7-10 years old. After we had her for a few days, we realized that she was mostly deaf. So we called to make sure that our obedience classes could accommodate her. No problem! We and she learned sign language. Also her teeth were really bad. They made sure she had her cleaning and also removal of the bad teeth.She is the sweetest dog. We have been traveling this summer and she is loved everywhere we go. We adopted from One Dog Arizona a year and a half ago and would highly recommend adopting through them. Jennifer has been extremely supportive and helpful every step of the way. We wouldn't have made it through the puppy phase without all of her love and support, and now we have the most amazing dog! They make sure all of their dogs are fully vetted and even include training classes with every adoption. I can't say enough good things about Jennifer and the One Dog volunteers. It has been two years now since they rescued the litter I adopted my Jagger (then Yoshi) from and it has been the best decision I've ever made. Jennifer was always quick to respond to any texts or emails I sent her way and was always so kind when answering my questions. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a new pup to check out the One Dog rescue first. They take such great care of the dogs and do their best to find homes suited for each one. I absolutely LOVE this rescue. My husband and I adopted our puppy Bisco (formerly Pumpkin Pie) from One Dog Arizona a couple of months ago. Neither of us were very experienced with raising a puppy, but Jennifer and the rescue volunteers have offered an incredible amount of support! It is obvious that they truly care about the welfare and happiness of these pets and ensure that they will be well taken care of. Bisco has been a complete blessing in our lives and is super well behaved! I don't think we just "got lucky" but believe it is due to the foundation laid by his foster environment and socialization before we even adopted him, along with all the support we have received along the way. I just want to take a minute to give a shout out to Jennifer and her wonderful rescue, One Dog Arizona. She has helped rescue and re-home thousands of dogs, but still somehow remembers every one along with their new mommy and Daddy.
She has never lost her compassion for the fur babies she brings in daily. She has taught me and so many others that fear or punishment is not what your dog needs to stop bad behaviors, they want to learn from and please you. The bond I have with my pup now is the strongest I’ve ever had with any dog! What pup do you know that will snuggle in its mommies arms at night and go to sleep? Thank you for all that One Dog Arizona does! We will recommend you to anyone looking for a Dog always.... and if we ever decide we want more, we will always come here first.

We adopted our two furry children from One Dog (Arizona) and were so pleased with the adoption process! Never before have I met a rescue that actually conducts home visits to ensure the optimum safety of the dogs they adopt out, and One Dog certainly does care that much about the health and safety of their rescued dogs. I am a co-owner of Knockerball Scottsdale/Chandler/Gilbert and Jennifer had us out today to run a Knockerball event for her young volunteers.
In talking with Jennifer and learning more about One Dog AZ, I realized the outstanding work Jennifer and her staff are doing. I was very impressed with the young kids that volunteer so much time for her, to include weekends (yep, no typo), these were truly special kids. Our time together was lots of fun and we had a great time. Keep up the great work, it is awesome what you are doing and our four-legged friends appreciate and love you.

The best dog rescue organization I've ever come across. These wonderful, dedicated volunteers save dogs placed in kill shelters & bring them to their shelter, where they are assigned foster parents to love them, identify behaviors that need to be addressed (& they do address them with their behavioral trainers), identify what sort of home situation each dog would flourish in & adopt these loving angels out. This is one of the best rescue groups I have encountered. Jennifer does everything possible to ensure that her rescues go to a forever home.
She takes care of any medical needs and she and her fosters take time to get to know the dogs. They address the behavior and the psychological well being of the dogs. Jennifer also has a vetting process for potential owners and a post adoption protocol to further ensure a good match between pet and owner. Fantastic program!
