I had a great time learning from John Scott Stevens. He is truly a professional who will go out of his way to help someone out. I don't think you will find anyone around Omaha who is more knowledgeable than he is. If you are looking to get started with kettlebells, or are just tired of your same boring gym, this is the place for you. More...

I recommend Scott Stevens to any of my friends trying to take their fitness to the next level. He really is one of Omaha's best kept secrets.

Scott has helped me recover from a back injury, drastically improve my flexibility and coordination, increase my strength with a form-first approach, improve my physique, and grow my knowledge of the human body and functional movements.

I've worked with a gym buddies, personal trainers, and physical therapists. I lifted with barbells and dumbbells. I played multiple sports. I've now worked with Scott for 4 months, much of it through a back injury, and I've never felt this strong, stable, and powerful. Scott's teaching has really gone past the gym into my sports and everyday life.

Not to mention he is an extremely nice, stand-up guy who is easy to communicate and work with.

Scott is an extremely qualified as a personal trainer. He is well versed in StrongFirst methodology and Functional Movement Screening. Not sure what that means?

Basically, he'll find areas that you can improve - flexibility, mobility, coordination, strength..., - provide you with intuitive drills and queues, and improve that area of weakness. All the while you see great results.

Do your future self a favor and make an appointment for a movement assessment and kettlebell orientation with Scott Stevens.

I called Scott on a Monday and had private training the next day. I wanted to train with someone with "street cred", which Scott has being certified by Pavel. We started with a brief physical assessment that immediately identified deficiencies with my balance and hip mobility. Once we talked through that and worked on a couple drills I can do at home to improve/mobilize we went straight to work on my kettle bell swing. I've swung a lot of bells over the last 10 years but never had formal instruction. Scott opened my eyes to the true power of the kettle bell swing within 10 minutes and showed me some variations to the swing that are absolutely game changing. Then we went on to steps 1, 2, 3 of the Turkish Get Ups (TGU) which I had also been doing wrong. I absolutely loved Scott's teaching methods, professionalism, knowledge, and easy going manner & I can't wait for the next training session. More...

I did a lot of research into different kinds of workout methods and I found kettlebell training to be the most practical for what I wanted out of my fitness. I wanted to get back flexibility and strength. Coming off of 2+ years of not exercising, I looked up strong first instructors and found John Scott Stevens to be extremely well reviewed. Started with a couple emails talking about what my goals were and we set a date to start the beginners course. I came in getting winded and really fighting to do a set of 10 swings with the 35lb bell. Within a couple weeks of Scott's great instruction he had me swinging the 70lb bell with confidence. He is a very funny guy and makes the movements and workouts very understandable to someone with NO experience. After completing the course I feel great! My shoulders are so much more mobile and I feel the strength all over. Would absolutely recommend this program to anyone struggling to get back into shape or just wanting some awesome workouts. Kettlebells rock! Thanks Scott. More...

I took the SFG level 1 8 hour Kettlebell course and LOVED it. It’s a huge time commitment, but well worth it! Scott, Kelly and Beth are welcoming, kind, informative and well-prepared. I loved that the instructors took complex (sometimes intimidating) moves and broke them into smaller, simpler steps. This course includes lots of practical implementation of moves and fantastic real time feedback. Overall, this class can help you be more confident on your own with kettlebells and/or prepare you to aid your clients who desire to incorporate kettlebells into their programming. More...

Exceptionally-informed, professional, and personalized strength training of this kind is unique and guaranteed to provide results.

Omaha Elite Kettlebell will take your curiosity about kettlebells from "something I should try" to "something I must do" as you come to enjoy the benefits of being Stronger For Life. For me, kettlebell training has helped me maintain a healthy weight, combat the effects of professional sitting (aka a desk job) through the development of a strong core ("core" being every single muscle in my body), and best of all: personal enlightenment in the form of that moving meditation called The TGU.

John Scott Patrick Stevens is highly trained in the science and art of Strong. Plus he makes a mean coffee. So, we'll see you at OEK!

When it comes to physical fitness & health, my philosophy has always been this: “Tend to the body. The mind & soul will follow. ” Thanks to Scott Stevens AND Omaha Elite Kettlebell, this is 100% true for me on all platforms.

There IS no one better than Scott Stevens. Expect immaculate professionalism, courtesy, patience but Most Importantly, BEYOND ADVANCED Level of Knowledge AND Experience. His high level of expectation held for students/clients, is a major driving force for both client & instructor and sits abundantly clear. Failure is not an option.

Scott’s impeccable attention to detail of your every move is invaluable & inarguable. He is tough, but never mean and will hold you to your commitments & goals. He possesses a unique yet valuable ability to identify the difference between when you mentally don’t think you can go further, but he sees you can & will encourage you to do so. At the same time, he hears you & doesn’t continue to push when you know, you really ARE done.

Safety & correct form is ALWAYS front row – so whether you need to break yourself from poor form or bad habits, learn a movement for the 1st time OR you’re about to put yourself at risk for injury, no matter how subtle, Scott WILL catch it & correct you by walking you through the process. (This alone can serve as motivation not to slack on anything, because you will get caught! :))

Don’t want to take my word for it? Give him a call - in 5-10minutes you’ll KNOW what I say is true & you’ll feel you are in good hands. Ask for his bio, or even better, his list of credentials. There are so many, he would literally need to carry around an 11x14 business “poster” instead of card for contact info & referrals. 100% true. For me, he is my teacher and always will be, who truly can walk the walk, but he would rather show you how. He is a born teacher. It’s a true gift & it shows.

I ask you: why drink Evan Williams Whiskey once you’ve gotten used to 21-year old Red Breast? (google it or try it if you don’t know) – or trust me. It’s top notch quality, it’s divine and you ALWAYS get what you pay for. HE is worth every cent. Stop wasting your time shopping around.

Omaha Elite Kettlebell:
YOU & your well-being, STRENGTH & success are priority. ALWAYS at OEK. You will be taught in a way that is meaningful, clear & effective. Your questions will be answered thoroughly and you will be taught correctly & precisely from the beginning. You will learn that losing weight & increasing endurance come with StrongFirst kettlebell, but your Goal: is STRENGTH.

To some this matters, others maybe not - the community here is Niche but, well, Strong. Everyone I personally have encountered has been more than friendly & even better, ENCOURAGING, complementary & inclusive. What I’m about to say, sometimes comes as a surprise to people when I share because I do tend to make friends easily & enjoy people, HOWEVER, historically speaking in most places & settings, I tend to feel like I don’t belong; that I’m some sort of outcast or 3rd party on the outside looking in. I’m certainly not a hermit or a victim by any means but truth be told, I usually have some sense that I’m not part of the group. Yet, most people do want to feel like they belong. And at OEK, I legitimately DO feel like I belong; like I’ve found one of my few tribes. It matters who you surround yourself with. So you want to be stronger? Healthier? Live Happier? Surround yourself with other strong people & like-minded individuals. And I love this element & vibe you feel here in this regard. It’s just another asset that makes OEK truly unique.

Since middle school, my personal interaction with fitness & sports has been various school sports (basketball, volleyball, track & field) to cheerleading in college, a 12-year membership to 24-hour fitness, in which I participated in boot camps, aerobics, had a few personal trainers. I’ve done zumba, pilates, yoga, beachbody, just about all of it.
Incidentally, I ended up breaking my 12-year contract with the gym, once I discovered StrongFirst Kettlebell – as NOTHING, comparably engaged my body in full the way the movements do in StrongFirst. I felt SO strong so immediately & saw the fastest results YET! This, however, was nothing comparative to what Scott+Omaha Elite Kettlebell brings to you. Regardless of whether you do one on one training, or participate in the weekly classes, there is truly nothing like StrongFirst, embraced at OEK, in all the many vats of health & fitness I personally have experimented or engaged in. Get started! I look forward to seeing you there and become an even better YOU!!!! :)
