After meeting with many Landscapers (about 10) and reviewing the proposals, my wife and I went with the one who listened and incorporated our asks/needs. #OliverEnterprises was not the lowest or highest but they do provide BEST value. They started on-time, communicated throughout project up to completion, conducted follow-up checks, and provided excellent customer service. Chris, and Elmo at Oliver enterprises did a great job. We hired them to redo our patio and driveway. Chris drew up the design.
He made many modifications as we came up with new ideas, while giving excellent suggestions. We wanted trees in our little patio with limited sun, and we now have 4 tall Hornbeams which are perfect for the space.
The work began on schedule and was completed on time. When they encountered unexpected problems, like concrete under the planting beds, they addressed them without much to-do. Any extra charges for changes in plan were always thoughtfully conveyed and very reasonable. Elmo was patient with our search for the driveway material, and we finally settled on a variety of brick. His men did a fantastic job laying the brick. On their own initiative, they also sealed gaps in the fence separating the next property making it look much nicer, and keeping rain water from draining into the driveway.
Our patio and driveway look great and have received many compliments. We’re cost conscious, and felt that the pricing was reasonable. The whole process was smooth and we were confident all the way that Chris would do his best to make us happy with the work. We would hire them again, and recommend them to friends.

We had Oliver do two jobs at our home since we moved in a few years ago. The first was rebuilding our retaining walls in our back yard (4+ walls all together).
Not trivial! Old, rotting railroad ties needed replacing. We decided to go with field stone, and Oliver did an amazing job. They built the back layer nicely and the masonry with the field stone is beautiful (one of the reasons we hired them). John was quick to answer any questions we had during the process. This was summer of 2012.
We hired his team again in 2014 to convert our asphalt driveway to pavers. Once again, a great job. We had to rebuild the concrete curtain coming from the garage, which we weren't anticipating, though the quote was reasonable and we're happy with the results. When we see old pictures with the asphalt, we can't believe how much nicer our driveway is now and what a difference it makes!

I'm a guy who likes to try an tackle any work around the house, but masonry is not one of those things. Although they weren't the lowest quote I got, they were certainly in the ball park, but I knew I was getting "professionals" who cared about their work and it showed in my wall and patio. For the second time Oliver did masonry and also landscaping on my property. They not only do a great job, they make excellent suggestions and work well with other contractors when needed.
I can't be too positive about them. They come when they say they will and excellent hard-working workers who do a great clean-up. I had a project which involved some finagling in small spaces, repair to an existing patio, and a fence installation. They coordinated with the fence company and resolved some tricky issues with no fuss or muss. Great to work with! I will be back.
The first project was much more extensive because it involved some demo. But they put the appearance of the front of my house in a whole different category!

We live in a sideways house that was in dire need of curb appeal and better drainage, and Oliver Enterprises had recently done a beautiful job of hardscaping and landscaping a house across the street.
(They had put in a stone front porch, front walk and retaining wall, as well as a pop-up sprinkler system, sod and foundation plantings.) They replaced our old brick front porch with a beautiful New England field stone porch with a wrought iron railing and granite landing/treads. They replaced our crumbling flagstone front walk with meandering concrete, which they hand embedded with small stones. They also regraded the slope to our house and redirected the downspouts to a pop-up further out in the yard to improve the drainage.
We had a wonderful experience with them. They saw the potential in our unconventional front yard and came up with beautiful plan for its improvement. They did an excellent job of troubleshooting problems before providing a quote. Their prices were competitive and they charged us exactly as they said they would in the contract (to the penny). They showed up when they said they would. They stayed until the work was done. They were respectful of an old growth tree (a very large oak) and adjusted the path to keep its roots intact and allow it more space to grow. They were also pleasant to work with when we had different opinions about the curve of the front walk. They were respectful of our ideas and they were willing to make changes that both met our expectations and conformed to their own standards for masonry.
I get compliments on their changes to my front yard every time I am outside doing work. I would gladly hire them again, and I intend to when we address our driveway and retaining walls in a couple of years.
