Owner Allen Drewes uses his knowlege current code and conduct; leading him to become the President of the Illinois Professional Builder's Association. Allen Drewes was the design consultant & contractor on our wheelchair excessible full-bathroom remodel. He worked diligently and was flexible to using non-traditional products and materials that lended a modern traditional aesthetic while the goal was functionality and accessibility. He is knowledgeable of ADA guidelines, as it is the most reliable source for
testing and recommended safety supports. This is important for a disabled father to share a restroom with his able family members and guests.
Allen did custom carpentry when product choices were minimal or unavailable offered flexibility as the project encountered changing needs. Allen Drewes of Old Towne Custom Builders worked with us when we purchased an older home that had been flipped and had lots of hidden issues/problems. Allen is professional, reliable, knowledgeable and honest! He and his team of expert building professionals assisted/guided us through a maze of locating what was wrong in our home and the best way to fix it in a cost efficient manner. They took on the most frustrating of projects, that other companies would not take the time to work on, with a positive attitude, patience, and perseverance. Allen of Old Towne Custom Builders provided innovations and creativity in the designing of our kitchen, dining and living room remodeling project. We found him easy to deal with, professional and very responsive to our concerns. The tradesmen he brought on the job provided a high quality of skill and craftsmanship. The cabinetry was custom painted and a custom pantry was added to replaced an oversized built-in pantry. A beautiful hardwood floor was installed throughout the first floor which created a flow between rooms and visually expanded our space. When completed we were within budget as promised . The actual cost was ten percent below the original estimate.

We are thrilled with the outcome of this project and will definitely hire Old Towne Custom builders to remodel the rest of our home. More...

Old Towne Custom Builders worked with us from the very beginning, from helping us find the lot we purchased, going through the due diligence to research the property, negotiating and working with the village and county offices to obtain permits, to every stage of the actual construction. Mr. Drewes was on site nearly every day and did an astonishing amount of the work himself, far beyond just directing the efforts of the different crews, he did much of the work himself including a great deal of the finish cabinetry and trim carpentry.
