The restaurant was clean, the staff was kind and it was a very decent place to eat. I had the pot pie and it was absolutely delicious. It's been probably 20-30 years since I've been back to Old Man Rafferty's. I do miss the old menu! The place is much bigger. The staff was great. Unfortunately they were not able to seat us for our reservation and we had to wait an hour. They generously gave us some appetizers to make up for it.Those Cuban eggrolls are yummy! The French onion soup is just as delicious as I remember! Great atmosphere and food. Sit at the bar for best service. The menu is... outdated, with few rotating/changing items. Still, things are cooked well. Bartenders are on point and usually won't make you wait on anything.They have 50 desserts, but they rotate. Don't rely on the menu and just walk over to the dessert case (where they do take out!) instead.Chicken parm, burgers, salmon, and daily specials are usually best. Old Man Rafferty's is a very reliable restaurant. I have been there many times and I have not been disappointed with any meal. Drinks are good too but I'm not a big fan of the sangria. They are well known for their desserts and have a large selection of cakes and other goodies enough to tempt you into skipping right over the meal! More...

The food was excellent, but it's too busy on a Saturday night for some of the staff to handle.I know it was dinner rush, but the wait to be seated was a little bit long. Over half an hour with a reservation. The hostess got overwhelmed by people asking her questions and another staff member actually yelled at the crowd to "let us do our jobs". The poor girl needed a moment, but that could have been handled better. I ordered chili and the salmon soba bowl thing. My 1 year old loved the chili, and so did I. The salmon soba thing was great, although I wasn't too enthusiastic about the corn kernels. Baby corn would have been better. I also wish the sauce had been just a smidgen thicker. It kind of pooled in the bottom of the dish, but it wasn't too overpowering. I'll probably throw some rice into my leftovers, though.I had two drinks. The pineapple mojito was a lot less sweet than I expected. Not terrible, but I'd never order it again. Also, I ate the pineapple garnish and it tasted really bad. The flower power thing was pretty good, though :)They have a kids' menu and crayons, but no changing table in EITHER women's bathroom. I also don't think they offered us a high chair, though my husband may have said no. She's not great with high chairs anyway. I had the fish taco lunch special and it is one of the best. It's got nice fresh mango salsa and the flavor is wonderful. We didn't have any dessert but they have a full menu and they looked yummy.

For a chain restaurant it's fine, and they've even got decent vegan options such as the beyond burger. It's a good setting for, say, lunch with coworkers, not immensely fancy but still with a nice relaxed atmosphere.
