I was lucky enough to find the Ocean Blue website through a Google search for our day after Christmas wedding in Yosemite Valley. Saw great reviews on a wedding site and thought "Sure, sounds good". Besides being impressed by the photos they had on the website, I was thrilled with their rates, which were so much more reasonable than other photographers I had looked at near the Yosemite area. Lucky for us they were available on short notice and willing to travel during the holidays!

Upon meeting Paul and Vanessa I immediately felt at ease with them. They are both such incredibly nice, genuine people and it made taking pictures that much easier. Unfortunately I had been so busy with planning the wedding that when it came down to the day of, I had no idea what kind of pictures/poses/shots I wanted, but Paul and Vanessa were both very patient and had ideas to help us along and were super accommodating when we had spur of the moment ideas for shots.

So far we've gotten a few sneak peak pics and they are better than I could've hoped for! We get giddy every time a new sneak pic is put up and we can't wait to see the rest! We really couldn't have asked for a better pair to be there to capture it all on our big day! Thank you Paul and Vanessa!

I came across Paul and Vanessa from doing a bridal shoot with them. Still some of my favorite photos to this day! I'm so happy they got to photograph mine and my husband's special day last weekend. Ocean Blue Photography is top notch. At first I was weary because my wife April and I were trying hard to keep on a tight budget for the wedding but once I found out that they were from Modesto which is not far from Stockton where I grew up I just had to take a look at the work they had done in the past. I was amazed and we just had to have them for our wedding and price was no longer an issue for something that will visually document one of our happiest moments. Sounds pretty basic so far right? Well our wedding was the day after Christmas, in Yosemite just days after a heavy snow fall. They drove up on Christmas day in the snow just to make sure they were there in time. The rest was up to mother nature. It looked like a movie backdrop for a Snow White Disney movie. They were able to get several hundred wonderful photos of us and a curious deer that just wanted to be in the photos. We could not have planned how beautiful it turned out of it if we tried no matter how much we spent. And Paul and his wife captured it perfectly. The photos and the photo album were just absolutely stunning. If you do not at least look into them then you are definitely missing out on something great. And they are of course military friendly. These folks are just fantastic. They photographed our wedding and EVERYTHING turned out great!!! The following highlight some of the key points. Meeting with them beforehand, they had a thorough understanding of what was planned for the day. They captured pre-ceremony activities, the ceremony itself and then the party afterwards. They were always one step ahead - no rushing around to capture something at the last second but were set up in plenty of time. Saying that, they were the "ninja photographers" - you thought you saw them, but when you really looked, they'd already disappeared. That made a big impression on us, as we had attended a wedding a few months earlier where many of the guests couldn't even see the ceremony as the view as blocked by the photographer!They worked really hard and succeeded in capturing the essence of the day. Their work married the artistic side of photography with the technical, resulting in fantastic photos that really showed what the day was all about. This was not only for ourselves but our guests as well. The photos they took of us outdoors at sunset were both dramatic and artistic. Their sense of style and artistic flair really came across in their work.The resulting album is something we'll treasure for the rest of our lives. We worked closely with them, from the initial cut to the final version. They were always open to any changes we wanted, and came up with alternatives if they thought something might work better. It was a collaborative effort. Changes were turned around quickly and a new draft ready for our review appeared in a very short period of time, much faster than we'd expected.And the single picture that was done on metal... what can we say? The way it's done on 2 sheets of metal to give somewhat of a 3D perspective is really effective. Not only did we feel it turned out great but has become a conversation piece with everyone who has seen it. As an example, the framer that we took it to said he hadn't seen anything like it in the 25 years he'd been in business.To sum it all up, if we could give them 6 stars out of 5 we would! More...

I was so happy to find Ocean Blue Photography--they were affordable and their pictures were amazing.  I was able to relax on my wedding day and trust that they would take gorgeous pictures, which they did.  They photographed every detail, every decoration, and when it came time for the outdoor pictures they had no problem walking out in the cold and snow to get beautiful pictures.  Having a great photographer was one of the most important things to me on my wedding day, and I am very happy with the pictures I got from them.  I would highly recommend them.
