The food here is just excellent.  Better than the wonderful food though is the service and to me that's what makes or breaks my dining experience.  The basmati rice is seasoned perfectly and has the right amount of tooth.  The vegetables are done just right.  And now to the main course - The chicken kabobs are wonderfully grilled.  They are tender on the inside, charred just a bit on the outside, seasoned with garlic and lemon (I think?)  and the lamb kabob satisfies all of the carnivore drive.  It's a small restaurant so it gets loud,, but we were seating by the window,  We were fine, but the server thought we might be hot and came up and offered to move us.  It was so nice to have such  consideration even though we opted not to move.  Great food, great service.  GO!!!!!!!!!!  You'll love it. Great service! Good food! Cute ambience! Clean restaurant most especially the unisex restroom. Smells good. There's no wait and got seated right away which is a huge factor. Time is of the essence.Magluba $20. Eggplant, cauliflower, mushroom, tomato with yogurt sauce, basmati rice and almonds. It is very interesting and new to my palate. Tangy taste and spices in yogurt. Vegetables cooked to perfection. Basmati rice is delicious! Was comped with baklava dessert. Awesome! Found out that the baklava dessert on the menu is made from Oasis Baklava next door which owns by Dish Dash. Interesting trivia.Server/owner already anticipated my needs without anymore asking. Adrian is AMAZING! - Saltani ($26) chicken kabob & beef koobideh- Mango yogurt drink ($4)- Side salad ($5) it was ok, but could've skipped itCame on a Friday evening at 8:30pm. Surprised how many ppl were dining and still more ppl entered after we did because they close at 9pm! This is definitely a hidden gem in a random shopping plaza. Plenty of parking. When we came to eat, most of the stores in the plaza were closed!We ordered the saltani, which is definitely good for two people to share! The meats (chicken kabob & beef koobideh) were very flavorful! It was nice to have rice and veggies to complement the meats! The green sauce on the side was a nice touch! The mango yogurt drink (similar to a mango lassi at Indian restaurants) was freshly made and it was sooo good!! We also got a small complimentary basket of thin lavash bread and a olive oil dip! The side salad we got was ok and nothing special, but I wouldn't order it again.There was only one guy taking all of the orders and serving everyone. So service was a bit slow. But he was super friendly and definitely made sure we were happy with our meal.They're only open on the weekdays. Come on, Sunnyvale! No reason we should have been the only people in this gem on a Friday night! We split the combo plate that had Kufta, chicken kebab and lamb kebab, with basmati rice, vegetables (carrots, spinach, cauliflower, onions), almonds and green sauce and everything was PERFECT. Service was great, ambience was pleasant enough for a strip mall restaurant. For those who know me and my style, they know that I place utmost importance in customer service and friendly ambience. Food, of course, is a critical element of my enjoyment at a restaurant, but those two elements come close behind. Well Obed Mediterranean Cuisine exceeded my expectations in all 3 fronts! The owner is super friendly. I chose this place as my farewell party from Intel, and I really wanted a super fun and great time with my colleagues/friends. First of all, everyone absolutely loved the food; we tried a variety including Mansaf (slow cooked lamb in yogurt sauce), chicken kabob, vegetarian sambuseh, and finished with baklava with Turkish coffee. Everything is delicious by the way! Last but not least, the owner is fantastic. His smile and attentiveness make all of his patrons have a wonderful time here. This tiny place is a gem! Had dinner here recently and sat at my favorite table. Wanted to try Chicken Koobideh but it sold out! Ordered instead Chicken Shawarma Plate $17. When it was served on the table, the chicken smelled sooo good! And when I tasted it, it was divine! The spinach, carrots, red onions and cauliflower are perfectly cooked! Basmati rice is also good. Green dipping sauce is perfect! Just the right tartiness. Obed is the first that I know of when it comes to Persian food, serves cooked veggies instead of fresh salad. I find it unique and food presentation is vibrant! Generous amount of thin sliced bread and unique bread dipping sauce. Came with a co-worker on his need for some Med food.In a non-descript rather run down mall in central Sunnyvale, surprised the mall and store front seems from the good ole days, will be razed or remodeled soon. Obed is a nice restaurant tucked away in a strip mall not that easily visible from the road. The food is good and so is the service. The chicken kebab plate is my favorite. The Mansaf is good too. My kids love the zatar olive oil dip along with the hummus plate. One of the best meals I have had in recent memory. Â Was visiting Santa Clara for music competition with the family. Â We have never been to Santa Clara before and used yelp to find a restaurant. Â We were just in San Francisco and ate at several iconic spots with great food and would place this close to those. Â Small strip mall with anchoring Taj Mahal market. Â Ambience is good but casual. Obed Mediterranean Cuisine is an authentic mediterranean restaurant with amazingly authentic flavors. Â I was in town on business and am originally from Florida. Â I ordered the chicken schwarma which comes with basmati rice, grilled veggies, green and red (spicy) sauce. The chicken was exploding with flavor. Â The rice and veggies had tremendous flavor, as well. Â I spread the green sauce over both the chicken and veggies (which were laid on top of the basmati rice) though I did taste them with and without the sauce. Â Even though I didn't put the red (spicy) sauce on my dish, I did taste it for determining the level of heat. I would rate the red sauce as 3.5 to 4 out of 5 on heat level. Â Definitely taste it before putting it on your dish. Â The restaurant is very intimate and cozy. Â I loved the authentic music that was played and the portraits on the wall enhance the mediterranean feel. Â I will warn you that the restaurant has fans but doesn't appear to have central air conditioning. Â You definitely won't be cold when dining in. Â The waiter was very patient and friendly.
