What’s your interior design process?
At NPD, our goal is to make the design process enjoyable.
While projects will vary based on scope, here is the basic process we follow:
RESEARCH
STEP 1 Virtual Meet and Greet
STEP 2 Initial Visit with Designer at the project site, or, Virtual Initial Consultation
STEP 3 Scope of Work prepared and presented
STEP 4 Signing of contract, receipt of design payment
STEP 5 Commencement of project (internal kick-off meeting)
STEP 6 Client Interviews (ongoing as needed)
DEVELOPMENT
STEP 7 Trade Day: meeting with contractors, receiving bids, on-site measurements, etc. - (Varies)
STEP 8 Execution of floor plans, elevations, sourcing fabrics, furnishings, and finishes
STEP 9 Presentation of Design, including estimated budget and timeline
STEP 10 Revisions (if any) and final approval
PROCUREMENT
STEP 11 Placement of orders and delivery lead-time assessment
STEP 12 Initiation of construction and renovation (Varies)
STEP 13 Procurement period continues, receipt of orders, project site visits continue
INSTALLATION
STEP 14 Furniture installation and client reveal
STEP 15 Accessory completion/styling + staging
STEP 16 Punch list and deficiency resolution
