Oh how I just love this adorable Italian marketplace. They have plenty of freshly baked pastries,  homemade pasta, gelato, cheeses, warm bread, Italian dishes, international wines, and seasonings. It's a wonderful place to meet for coffee, dessert,  a drink or a meal. There are   are different counters in the large marketplace like venue, and all seem to offer similar cuisine and  experiences. It really feels like you have stepped out of west lake village and into an Italian market. I love coming here for a sweet treat or glass of wine. I was really pleased with this place! We came in on a whim for dinner and were not disappointed! I had the gluten free pasta with pink vodka sauce and it was absolutely delicious. I ate the entire thing and I know I'm going to be craving now. My mom had their gluten free pizza and was really happy with it while my dad got the bolonaise, he was blown away by it! Really great new place! Love how you can go in just to grab a coffee or just to get some bakery items! Or to have dinner like we did! First, it is kid friendly. There were lots of kiddos there and it's a more casual Italian spot but still have some really authentic items on the menu. And because it's causal, it's very reasonably priced. We got out of there with my husband and I each having two drinks each plus and appetizer, two entree and a kids meal for $100. We got the burrata toast and it was amazing. Great flavor! We each started with a spritz However it definitely wasn't a regular aperol spritz. Wasn't the biggest fan because we are so used to aperol but still good. Then my hubby for the chicken Parmesan which was great. Super thin and great breading flavor!  He got it with angel hair. I got the chicken dish with artichoke and it was so amazing and very large and filling. I got it with spinach. The spinach was very garlicky and delicious!! The chicken was thin and flavorful, not dry at all. The only criticism I have is our waiter took forever to fill our waters up again and also didn't ask if we wanted another drink for dinner when our drinks were low. I am SO GLAD my friend recommended this place to me; it's my favorite Italian place in this area hands down. The one downside is parking since there's so many apartments/restaurants in this area. ..I always have to circle at least 3 times and usually park further away. My go to dish has been the "Pink Marre" it's salmon with penne and a pink sauce (I usually get it with spaghetti because I like to twirl my pasta!) I've gotten this twice and it has never failed me. Great flavors, comes out hot, and the salmon is definitely not dry.My friends have gotten their pizza and from the 4 that they've tried, they were in heaven with all of them. I also got their vegan banana bread and I couldn't tell it was vegan...it was moist, flavorful, warm!It can get crowded for lunch (the only time I've been), the outdoor seating is the most popular. Walked in on a Wednesday night and was seated/served immediately. Lots of street parking, plenty of indoor and outdoor patio seating with heaters. No reservations needed!Food was solid, chicken chopped salad had stellar reviews and we agreed! The pesto pasta was also delicious and not too oily which is important. Our Italian immigrant friends recommended this place. My first reaction was "novo cafe"? Italian?  The name doesn't suggest this as an authentic Italian place. So we came today, the pastry counter has Italian written everywhere. If you come here thinking it's just cafe food and order breakfast items, you are missing out big time. This is a place for home made pasta, risotto and Italian deserts. If you have dined at Made In Italy and love it, you must try this place. The food is just as good if not better, and price and value is better than Made In Italy. We ordered Pumpkin ravioli, mushroom risotto, and beef bolognese, and a bowl of split pea soup. Wow! This place rivals Nola and Casa Nostra  - two of the most authentic Italian places in westlake village. The bowl of split pea soup is very sizable, probably the largest in portion in all restaurants i have been to in the city. Service is similar to Made In Italy - you order and pay first, but Novo is significantly better in Value, service and portion. Our dinner tonight was 5-Stars! We were a birthday party of 6 people.Everyone enjoyed everything they ordered; the food was hot and delicious! Equally important, our server, SUSAN, was extraordinary! She engaged with us about our family celebration, she knew the menu and was helpful in her suggestions, and she even brought us a birthday candle'd dessert! This is a cute little Italian cafe in the Burbank area, a walk away from Olive & Thyme is a mainly corporate area where a lot of people will go for lunch during prime time. That's around the time I had gone on a weekday to get some delicious pesto pasta. Even though I happened to be incredibly sick that day, I was still able to taste my food and it was delicious. PESTO ANGEL HAIR PASTA (4/5): Not every place knows how to do pesto the right way. I, like many people, prefer the fresh herbs to come alive with every bite of pesto pasta, along with the rich taste of parmesan cheese finely grated into the mixture. This bowl of pasta was creamy and filled with a rich flavor of pesto in each and every bite. The portion of my dish was more than enough...I could not even finish it all!The presentation was pretty with more grated parmesan cheese at the top and a cute grape tomato and a piece of toast on the side.Of course I've had better quality pasta dishes at gourmet Italian spots, but for something quick with a ton of options and great taste, I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again. We absolutely love this place. If you ever traveld to Italy, you'll appreciate the authentic Italian food at its best. FINALLY a good good Italian restaurant in Westlake Village!!!  This place was sooo good my heart was so happy they opened. The first time I went, I got the lasagna.  It was soo good!! The sauce tasted so fresh and homemade and not from a jar like a lot of other Italian places have.  They served us some bread which was also great... it was warm and when you dip it in the oil and vinegar....yummy!  The restaurant is really big inside and has a section for a bakery and also they sell freshly made pastas.  Their lemonades that they have are also really good!  I went back again a month later and tried the Bolognese with paradelle and the sauce once again was soo fresh and delicious!  I ate the whole serving!  My mom had ordered the soup of the day which was a butternut squash.  It was so smooth and thick and had great flavor.  The service was great and the waiters were very attentive.  You can also order at the counter and they will bring your food (maybe for lunch only).  The inside is clean and bright and I love the little vases they have on the tables with the flowers.  Loved the décor of the restaurant.  I have recommended this place to so many people already,  I hope they do good here!  I will like to try their pizza next time.  My co-worker says they have a habanero pizza at the one in Burbank so I'll see if they have it here next time I go. Loooooove novo!!  I used to live in Burbank and would go to the one in studio city. The ambiance, service and food was perfect there and it's just the same here! I can't say enough good things about this place. We had been a few times and loved the food for its freshness and quality - so many delicious dishes! Recently our grandmother passed and we decided to have everyone eat here after the funeral - the staff was so wonderful accommodating us for this! We arranged for 30+ people to dine here and everyone loved the food so much. It really helped to have such a wonderful experience during such a difficult time. I've been working a block or two away from Novo Cafe, and when we go late and order dinner, chances are good that we take out from here. The food is excellent and it travels quite well, at least that short distance. I'm sure the restaurant is nice, too, but it may be a while before I visit. As much as I like the pasta, I have a feeling it'll taste a bit like sad office dinner by the time I'm done with this job.The pasta really is delicious, though. Novo makes a lot of its pasta in-house, and I've stuck to the fresh pasta dishes because why not? I love the Drunken Sea, which comes with black fettuccine and a mix of seafood--I think fish, shrimp, and calamari--in a mildly spicy pink vodka sauce. The green tagliatelle is excellent, too, and I've liked it in both the Norcina and the Toscana. The Norcina is rich without being heavy, with ground Italian sausage, onions, olive oil, and a touch of cream and fragrant saffron. The Toscana is a meaty pasta dish, the tagliatelle made with Italian sausage ragu and a mildly spicy red sauce, topped with big grilled chicken strips.Other than the pasta, I've enjoyed the garlic cheese bread sticks, which are a good thing to share. They come with your choice of housemade aioli or marinara dipping sauce. I've also gotten the grilled salmon entrée, which was okay, but mostly made me wish I had ordered a pasta. This was a piece of pan-seared salmon served with tequila mango sauce and a choice of side. I went with the sautéed broccoli and purple cabbage, which was nice. I suppose this dinner was good for my health.I can't speak to the ambiance or service at Novo Cafe, but I can definitely recommend the food. My boyfriend and I came to this restaurant because I was craving gelato and we figured what better place than an Italian restaurant. We ate dinner, he had a margarita pizza and I had spaghetti and it was definitely delicious. However, when we ordered the gelato, it was nowhere near what we expected. Wow, didn't expect this.Went to happy hour (all wine and drinks 50% off, and a great HH menu)Had the Misto salad... very fresh and delectable. My wife and I ordered 2 pasta entree's from the HH menu (pesto, and pink sauce).  Both were AMAZING!  And only 10 bux each.For dessert, we had the incredible lemon cookie, and the frittelle.  Don't leave without dessert, because they have a huge selection (check out the bakery display cases, I think I gained a half pound, just looking!).We have a new go-to place for happy hour.  We sat at the bar, and the bartender (Will) is very cool. I didn't think anyone could make a go of such a large place, with a large rent, but now... Visited Novo café this morning; I wanted to bring some fresh baked goodies to a friend.  The staff was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.  We ordered the pastries TO-GO and also ordered two of their breakfast wraps; vegetarian wrap as well as an egg and cheese wrap.....SO GOOD!!!  They delivered the pastries in small white pastry bags and all of them together into a clear-ish yellow plastic grocery bag.  Presentation is everything in my opinion; I asked if Novo offered any small handle bags or possibly a baker box with their logo... The young lady was extremely helpful and explained they did not have anything specific like that but she did go and get a to-go sandwich box and offered us 4-stickers with the Novo logo.  So grateful for her willingness to accommodate my request as I wanted the pastries to be presented nicely to my client/friend! Had delicious lunch with friends. My friend had the lasagna ( amazing! ), my other friend had the pollo novo panini ( amazing! ), I had the burrata, beet salad ( AMAZING!) . The food, service, ambiance was all wonderful. We will be back. Oh we ended with the lemon tart and Nutella cannoli like dessert! Went for lunch today with the spouse and LOVED it! We waited for probably half hour for the food but it was worth it! I ordered the turkey ragu and husband ordered the chicken novo panini.
