We loved having Bjorn as part of our wedding event team this fall - he was a joy to work with, played well with our photographer, wedding coordinators and caterers to not only make sure the music for the day was perfect, but also the ceremony and acting as MC. Bjorn was great to work with! He was kind enough to take over our contract after our original photo booth guy closed up shop on us. Bjorn was VERY easy to communicate with and able to answer any questions we had. He made it easy for our guests to have a good time in the photo booth and made sure everyone got as many photo strips as they needed! He helped make our photo book so much fun and capture great memories of our wedding. We also loved getting to work with Soren on a custom design for our photo strips. What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
- Meet with the client ahead of the wedding or event.
- Design a unique playlist tailored to the host and their guests.
- Take requests ahead of the event, and during the event.
- Adjust the music as the evening progresses to keep everyone engaged!
How would you describe your ‘style’?
A range of Pop, Rock, R&B, Country, and everything in-between! We try to always appeal to 80% of the guests in the room or on the dance floor. That means staying away from obscure or harsh music that detracts from the event. We take requests, but use our best judgement and previous experience to dictate what should and shouldn't be played. Every event is a little different and we want the guests to leave with a smile on their face!
What do you love most about your job?
Connecting with clients to really understand the needs of their event, and meeting/exceeding those expectations. We understand anyone can be a DJ and play music from a laptop. What sets Northern Sound apart is the desire to make your event memorable, and lending our expertise and customer service knowhow to help with that event.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've always wanted to be an entrepreneur and work for myself. I ultimately chose DJ'ing because of my passion for music, my experience/skills in IT, and my charisma on a microphone. The most stable industry for DJ's is the Wedding industry. From there, Northern Sound Entertainment was formed. We have gone on to add additional services I am passionate about providing such as karaoke and videography!
