Norma's plant based cuisine

I saw a friend try this place at, so I was in the neighborhood and decided to give it a try! I had to call to make sure I found it.  The little deli is inside the bookstore! I love that they have gluten free options as well as vegan options! The picadillo was delicious,I opted to have brown rice instead of  fries! The food was freshly prepared and full of flavor! I can't wait to go back and try another dish next time More...

Very welcoming, with a clean, happy and healthy vibe - I felt the LOVE immediately :)  Norma greeted me and I asked her what the "Impossible Picadillo" was (exactly) and it sounded so good, especially in the confident and enthusiastic way she described it!  While she was preparing it for me, I had a nice talk with her hubby, and learned about her passion + his support behind this little gem of a restaurant.  They are a beautiful couple, expressing their love and joy through DELICIOUS vegan food.  I already knew it was going to be amazing (you can just tell, ya know?) but it exceeded my expectations... We decided to go to Norma's after reading all the positive reviews on Yelp; we were not disappointed. We ordered the "fish" sandwich and the ultimate hamburger with the French fries. Both were huge and very flavorful. We particularly liked their cilantro aioli, we ended up dipping our fries in it and it was sooo good! The Pan de Bono was delicious and we bought a couple to bring home! We also shared a cup of homemade lentil soup with plenty of veggies, delicious! It was our first time so we kind of ordered too many things and ended up bringing a lot of leftovers home that were enjoyed the next day. Norma and her husband are very friendly and stopped by our table a couple of times to tell us about the ingredients they use and just to chat. We will definitely be back to try other menu items and to buy more pan de Bono! If you are a vegan or a vegetarian or if you simply enjoy homemade fresh and flavorful food, you need to try Norma's! This deli is my favorite place to stop when in Altamonte. Come for the food stay for the company. They are probably some of the kindest people you will meet and are so attentive when it comes to dietary needs. My favorite is the Rueben... hands down my favorite. What a amazing find! Vegans, Vegetarians, or just Health conscious. The location is different than most as you would need to go through a front entrance of a church where there is a Store/Grocery/and this amazing Deli. They have a very peaceful and comfortable environment. The food was amazing we tasted the Tacos, Breakfast Burrito, Impossible Burger, Green Machine Smoothie. I came to eat at Norma's because they had a 5 Star rating on Yelp. I'm also giving them 5 Stars.I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but I am trying to cut back on eating meat for diet and health reasons. When Norma's came up as "plant based" food with such a high rating I had to give them a try. I was not disappointed!!I was greeted by the owner who explained to me that they use Impossible Meats which is a well known plant based meat substitute that looks and tastes like meat. I've heard of it but was a little skeptical. I'm no longer skeptical. It was delicious...that is why there's a picture of my empty plate. I started eating and couldn't stop to take a picture until I was done.The carrot cake was also very good. It was excellent if you factor in that it is vegan. I prefer my carrot cake with lots of frosting Norma's is located inside a book store in the Seventh Day Adventist building, making it a little hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for. GPS took me right here but the outside signage isn't good. It is labeled as a deli but it felt more like a casual gourmet restauant. Delicious home-cooked quality food. I ordered a totally Vegan chicken salad arepa with sweet potato french fries on the side, and my partner ordered the pabellon criollo bowl. The arepa was a steaming hot corn cake filled to the brim with chilled chicken salad; huge portion for the price. My partners plate of food was also large, with lots of brown rice, black beans, shredded meat, and a nice cold salad. We ate all of our food with delight and even got to tell the owners and chef how much we enjoyed everything. Next time we'll purchase some cakes for dessert, as they typically have banana, pineapple, and carrot cakes, but sold out today due to popularity. Norma's is a GEM! Located inside of the Seven Day Adventist building, this vegan/vegetarian friendly cafe is one of my new favorite lunch spots. They are open weekdays for breakfast and lunch. Their menu has so many options; arepas, smoothies, sandwiches, bowls, wraps, pizza and salads. They can 'veganize' just about everything which is GREAT (without upcharging you like crazy!) Whether your looking for something light and healthy or to indulge in classic Latin flavors, Norma's is the place to be. I wish there were more than 5 stars, this place is awesome!!   The smoothie was amazing, the ultimate burger (v) was even better and my husband's bowl (v) was even better than the burger! !  The food is fresh, the service is great (very nice people) and it's clean too!  It's a hidden gem, It's inside a building with green awnings co-located with ABC A Better Choice and the Florida Conference of Seventhday Adventists (great little Health food store and Christine Book store).  Highly recommend you try Norma's!!! I just had an amazing experience here. I live in Altamonte and had no idea this place was here but thanks to Yelp, I do! My boyfriend and I brought his family, who's visiting from Boston, here because they are vegan. We all loved the food and Norma and her husband are so sweet and genuine. Norma is so humble and very welcoming. We ordered the "beef" arepa with mozzarella and avocado and it was soooo delicious. We also got the vegan breakfast burrito with pepper jack "cheese" and we extremely enjoyed it. The cilantro aioli is wonderful. Put it on everything, lol. This is a true diamond in the rough. All vegetarian and vegan cuisine served by extremely friendly and warm staff (husband and wife). I ordered the Arepas Rellenas with "beef". It was my first and surly not my last time ordering that (pictured below). So fluffy and flavorful! The cilantro aioli on it was phenomenal. Very impressed by every aspect of the meal. The smoothies were refreshing and complimented the food nicely. We also ordered the breakfast burrito with the tofu/potatoes/black beans etc. so good!! Breakfast burritos can go wrong easily but with the vegan sour cream and salsa on the side, this (grilled) burrito hit the mark! We will surely be back. Nestled inside the Book and Bible House at Florida Conference of SDA in Altamonte Springs, this little cafe is full of personality and delicious, health-conscious food! The attendants meet you with a smile and bend over backwards to provide great customer service. And the food is great too. My husband, four-year-old and I ate lunch there today. He ordered the chipotle rice bowl, which was huge and full of fresh veggies. My son and I both ordered the loaded vegan dog (for those of you familiar with Worthington and Loma Linda products, it was a Big Frank, which I really enjoy and typically eat straight out of the can). It was smothered with chili, cabbage, romaine lettuce, corn, tomatoes, red onions, and drizzled with cilantro sauce. Yumm-o!If you lean toward vegetarian or vegan food choices, the menu is jam-packed with options for you to choose from salads, sandwiches, pizza, rice bowls, quesadillas, etc. They even serve dessert. I was browsing yelp looking for plant based dining close to my house and stumbled upon Norma's. It was 4:30, and I noticed that they closed at 5:00. I immediately jumped into my car and rushed right over. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try, and since I couldn't eat them all, I opted to try the Impossible Burger. I was not disappointed. It was sooo flavorful, and the avocado spread on it was the perfect accompaniment. I was dancing in my seat as I devoured it. I will definitely be returning to sample everything on the menu. Not only is the food excellent, but the couple who own it radiate kindness and joy. It is obvious they love what they do, and it is reflected in the hospitality that they provide.
