I teach holistic vocal instruction with an emphasis on connecting body, mind, and soul. The techniques I use, from classical pedagogy to CCM (or contemporary music), create instinctive singing that will find and eliminate bad habits while emphasizing a strong and healthy voice.

What do you love most about your job?
So many things I love about my job! Music and singing are wonderful, magical experiences and I get to work with both on a daily basis. I absolutely love learning about the voice as an instrument, both through published, academic research, as well as through the diversity of my students. Working with singers, from beginner to advanced, is very a very rewarding experience, and I become a better instructor due to learning from each and every one of them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I began teaching as a young college student in the late 90s, surprised at how much I loved teaching. As I spent many years traveling, moving, and performing, I always found a way to teach on the side. When I settled in Austin TX in 2008, I became passionate about opening up my own teaching studio. Bad idea during a recession! But 4 years later, I was able to make that dream a reality. I'm the kind of person who does best working one-on-one with people, and private teaching from my own studio is the best way to communicate musically, while making students feel safe and comfortable.
Why should our clients choose you?
I've been teaching music for over 20 years now, and my experience includes teaching over 100 students of all different ages and experience levels. I take time to understand each student's personal goals, and structure lessons to meet those individual needs. My studio is a safe place to make mistakes, experiment, learn, and collaborate.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes, I teach in-person lessons from my studio in South Austin. I also offer lessons via FaceTime, Zoom or Skype if that is preferred.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I wear a special "singing" mask if I've had any recent exposure, I have an air-purifier in my studio, and I wipe down common areas like stools, music stands, instruments and door handles numerous times throughout the day.
