I had an amazing experience with Kathy. Firstly I loved that they are open on Sundays which works best for my busy schedule. She then gave a great color and knew exactly the color I meant when all I said was warmer than natural color. Finally she went above a normal stylist when she noticed I have a dry scalp, she gave me a nearly full bottle of specialty shampoo for free to see if it helps. This was definitely the most thorough salon visit I've ever had and you can clearly tell all the employees have a true passion for their craft. More...

Went here on a limb because no other salons are open on Sunday. Booked online and someone called to politely asked if I could switch to another dresser which I thought was considerate rather than make me wait for her to be done with her previous client. I ended up getting Arta, who greeted me at the door. She was personable and very kind. She did a wonderful job on my hair and all her motions seemed so smooth and fluid as if she'd be doing this for a very long time. I usually get nervous about people cutting my hair even though my hair is straight and seems fairly easy, but Arta really made me feel good through and through. I'll go back and see her. More...

It's not the salon, it's the person you go to.  I followed Katie Terrell here from a 'trendy' Royal Oak salon. It's got easier parking, it's right off Woodward, and the facilities are good.   If you are looking for loud pumping music and shots of tequila at a salon, not your place.   If you want good hair, nice people, and convenient and normal prices - it's good.  Call Katie. Lindsay has been doing my hair for the past 8 years and I have NEVER (repeat, never) been unhappy with her services. She is an expert colorist and knows what I want better than I do. She is always welcoming and accommodating, and she does her best to squeeze people into her schedule even if it's inconvenient for her. The entire salon is full of happy, positive employees who seem to love their jobs - and the atmosphere and energy is always great. Prices are good too! I have been going to A New You Salon for about 9 years now where Lindsay has been cutting my hair. She has given me amazing advice when trying new styles based on my hair thickness and color. I have never had a hairstylist who was as knowledgeable and do a fantastic job. Recently I asked for highlights, the color turned out amazingly, it even changes shades when the lights hit it. Finding a good hair artist takes a LOT of trust, because it really does make or break how you feel about your self. Which is why I am so incredibly happy I found Kate/Katie at this wonderful salon. She has great intuition from years of experience and she is not afraid to be honest. She has helped me take on some really unique and fun ideas when it comes to my hair, but also classy and elegant. And she always approaches the technique in a way that is healthy for your hair. I come to her with it all, from a cut and color, to my wedding day (my hair and makeup along with all my bridesmaids and mother). I have never felt more beautiful than when she is done with me!
