I would highly recommend Dr Aronowitz, she is wonderful!  She's kind, thorough, caring, and incredibly helpful.  My husband, son and I all feel so thankful we were connected with her.  We couldn't be more appreciative of everything she has done for us.  Highly recommend! More...

Working with Dr. Aronowtiz (Jen) from the very on-set was an incredible experience.  Not only was Jen attentive from our first engagement, her compassion and expertise continued throughout the assessment.  Being a parent, with a child who has been receiving learning support for several years, the information received in working with Jen for a short period of time far surpassed what we have experienced ever; her expertise was needed and now we have an expert behind us to get direction that my kid needs going forward.  My only regret is that I wish I would have engaged with Jen years ago. Receiving our childs report was thorough; each element of the assessment is backed by testing from several data points.  Her assessment is coupled with resources that will further help us get the much needed - correct - resources for our child; its an individual approach that is specific to our child's needs. Engaging in an assessment is timely and comes with emotion too (myself and kid); this was put at ease by Jen's comforting nature which made the entire process very easy.  She communicates in a manner that is understandable and she truly has a gift for her expertise.  We have Jen in our corner now to help us navigate the unknown, with her approach, expertise and thoroughness, I know the outcome will be that my kid will excel and be supported in the right way.  Thank you Jen! I'm so happy that my child's tutor, directed me  to Jen when I needed to get my child tested. We have not looked back since. Jen has an amazing gentleness that puts both the child and the parents at ease on first meeting her. She 'gets' it!! She is smart, intuitive, sincere and profoundly efficient and professional. She does a very thorough assessment, writes up an excellent report in a very timely fashion and most importantly makes recommendations about schools and accommodations. She lives locally and has a great knowledge of schools in the area which is a tremendous help. You will never  regret your decision to meet Jen .... you won't look back!! I recommend her 100%. I would highly recommend Dr. Aronowitz. Her intuition, knowledge,   guidance and expertise in her field go above and beyond what most parents could hope for while having their child assessed. She communicates in an understanding and unintimidating manner and has a gift for putting your child at ease. More...

TG for Dr. Aronowitz. Dr. Aronowitz is so amazing. My son needed testing he was so anxious and of course so was I. From the moment we met Dr. Aronowitz she made us both feel so comfortable. He tested at her home office which we both really liked as it was such a relaxing atmosphere but still so professional. He was happy to stay by himself with Dr. Aronowitz while he was being tested ( which that in itself was a miracle). Once his results were ready she met with my husband and me, her explanations were so thorough and she spent her time explaining to us what he needed in such a thoughtful way, that it felt like we were speaking to a close friend - she really cares. She has honestly changed our lives for the better. I highly recommend Dr Aronowitz. More...

Love Dr. Aronowitz!  Can't recommend her highly enough for comprehensive neuropsych testing, school observation, and help getting school accommodations.  She is great at really connecting with kids and making the assessment process comfortable.  She is able to explain the results in a way that both kids and parents can understand and then recommend how to move forward - whether it is changing schools, getting accommodations, therapy, etc.  Her advice has been invaluable to our family! I just recommended TRC to a friend. Then I noticed the recent comments. About 7 years ago, my son spent about 4 months at TRC. Before he joined TRC, his reading level was below average, after the 4 months 3x a week tutoring, his reading was at grade level. What he learned most was the decoding skills. The systematic teaching techniques really helped my son. After 4 months, TRC did some evaluations, and told us my son would not get as big benefit as before, the next thing they could teach was how to do homework. We appreciated their honest. So we quite.  TRC might not for everyone, but they do have their specialty on helping kid improving reading. More...

Our son was a pupil at The Reading Clinic in Saratoga for just over two years. We were most impressed with the patience they took to get to know each student and teach them in the most effective way. Gina and her staff were experienced, courteous, on time, and dedicated to their company. There is very little turnover and we were so pleased to have Terra consistently work with our son. Reading disabilities and attention are his major challenges and they far surpassed the public school system's ability to teach him using evidence based specialized instructions for his particular challenges. He is now in the 4th grade and is regularly found at home reading grade level chapter books to himself. Thank you! You have helped instill a love for reading where there was once only frustration and disappointment. More...

I love Dr. Aronowitz! She was so attentive, warm, and playful towards my children during each of their sessions, which can be intimidating and exhausting since the assessments are so comprehensive. She made plenty of space for breaks keeping my children engaged and relaxed so that they were able to do their best. When it came time for the report, Dr. Aronowitz was very accommodating and supportive in providing only the best resources to address my children's areas of need. Since first seeing Dr. Aronowitz 18 months ago and following her suggestions in addressing my children's needs, they have made great progress towards becoming the best versions of themselves. TRC really made a difference for my 9-year-old daughter.  It was the little something missing to get her going.  I had a lots of difficulty to motivate her to write for her homeworks or projects, to a point I almost needed to do it for her, and for sure, I had to spend hours sitting next to her to help her on things that shouldn't take anywhere as long as that.  Recently, after the instructors spent some time working with her to do a school project, she had another project about a mission in California and she did it alone.  Actually, I didn't even know she had this work to do until she was done with the 4 full pages of writing and told me: "I want to finish this tonight so I just have to do the coloring this weekend".  I looked at it and I was stunned.  So I asked her: "do you think TRC made a difference, you used to ask me to help before?" and she said: "I guess it did".   That was result that speaks for itself. My son completed his 2nd grade year and despite showing a very high comprehension/analytical level with books read to him, he was lagging behind in his ability to read fluently and independently at his grade level.  He found it painfully hard to read books typical for his reading level as they lacked the depth and complexity he was intellectually ready for.  His frustrtation level was rising fast, his self-esteeem decreasing and it was clear that some intervention would be necessary to avoid a massive slump in school motivation by 3rd grade.  I was at a loss, however, as to what help he might need i.e. what kind of tutoring?I started by checking out what tutoring centers were available online in my area and emailed the director of the reading clinic.  I explained my concerns and asked many questions.  Gina was super fast to respond and in just one email I had a strong feeling that she was running a good program.   Her responses were thoughtful and professional.   My son completed a full evaluation with her and I liked the fact that the Clinic uses a number of instruments to make their assessments.  Gina was fantastic at explaining the results of the assessment and was so kind, considerate and professional in expressing her view on how best to move forward in helping our son.He started tutoring in August, a week before his 3rd grade year began.  He was attending three times a week and then down to twice a week.  Gina met with his 3rd grade teacher and actually went to his elementary school to talk to his teacher to better understand Liam's needs at school (and what his teacher's concerns were).  For my son, knowing that both his 'tutoring school' and his 'real' school were working towards helping him read more confidently increased his motivation in succeeding. My son attended this tutoring program for 6 months and is now reading very well.  The one-on-one attention along with the very efficient methods used by the reading clinic to help him develop his visual memory and learn his more advanced vowel sounds really had impact.  My son acknowledges that this tutoring experience has made a world of difference and I now struggle to get him to put a book down - he is finally reading what he really wants to read - Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Lemony Snicket etc.  A whole new world has opened up to him and he attributes this to the many teachers he had at the Reading Clinic who helped him find strategies that made sense to him.  His writing has also improved as a result.  I would be lying to say that he was excited about attending an hour of literacy tutoring after school but once at the session, he appreciated the time some of the teachers would take to let him express himself and show him the progress he was making.  He neber complained leaving the clinic!  He was empowered fast!We now plan to take a break from tutoring as my family believes strongly that tutoring should be used when needed and not to "overeducate" and deplete important recreational time from our youth.  Gina was so helpful in meeting with me at various times to informally re-assess his progress.  However, I expect to be back from time to time to boost my son's literacy needs as he grows.  In fact, we will be back for a few weeks in the summer to boost writing skills. The Reading Clinic was worth every penny.  It is by no means economical - but there are real results . They really know what they are doing.  Highly recommend! More...

After our daughter was in Waldorf schools for the last 2 years, we realized she was painfully behind her peers. We turned to The Reading Clinic for an assessment, to see if there were any underlying problems to her delayed reading (besides not being taught in school). The testing was beyond thorough, and the tutor/teacher was beyond kind and extremely helpful, educated and well-versed. Overall, I was beyond impressed with this business, and grateful we chose them for helping our child. Highly recommended! More...

Our 8 yr. old daughter has dyslexia and, at the end of 2nd grade, did not know her vowel sounds and reading was an unpleasant chore for her. I enrolled her at the Reading Clinic for the "Seeing Stars" program in May of her 2nd grade year. She spent the next 6 months attending the Clinic 3 days per week. At the end of the program, not only did she know all of her vowel sounds & blends, but she was reading chapter books for enjoyment! She is now in the middle of her 3rd grade year and showing huge improvements in reading & spelling compared to before she attended The Reading Clinic. The Reading Clinic did in 6 months what the public school could not do in 3 years! We are so glad we enrolled her at The Reading Clinic. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. It may seem expensive, but it was well worth the money. Not only did our daughter improve her reading & spelling but her self-esteem increased significantly...priceless! I highly recommend the Reading Clinic! More...

I highly recommend this place for children with reading issues. My son was slow to read and needed extra help at the end of first grade. The Reading Clinic evaluated him and developed an individual plan with a private tutor. They use many reading techniques and try to find what works best for your child. The results have been amazing! At the beginning of the year, he read with difficulty. Now, he is reading at grade level and is a very confident reader. The Reading Clinic is not one of those "mass production" type tutoring places but rather they cater to individual needs. Although it may be more expensive, it's well worth it since in the end your child will be reading sooner. More...

I sent one of my children to The Reading Clinic for a year when he was lagging far behind in school due to difficulties with reading.  What a difference that year has made.  When we started, my child was almost 2 grade levels behind in reading.  We had done the Barton Program through his school and while that was helping, it was not enough.  He hated school because he could not keep up.  After working hard with his tutors at The Reading Clinic, my son is reading at grade level and is loving school.  He has improved by leaps in bounds in all of his subjects and has renewed confidence in his abilities.  His tutors always kept him motivated and made it fun.  He never complained about missing "playtime" in order to go to a session.  In fact, one of his siblings thought it was unfair that he didn't get to go as well.  This was not something that I expected.  The outcome of any tutoring is based on how hard the child works.  The tutors really connected with my child and helped him maintain his desire to work hard and succeed.  It has been a year since he finished his sessions and he is still on track at school, More...
