Nest Homes

My wife and I recently completed and moved into our new home built by Nest Homes. When we started down this path we were warned by a number of friends and family who have recently built with other big name builders (Ryan, Pulty, DR Horton) of what a horrible experience they had and suggested that we re-consider before we are too far in. Fortunately, we chose more of a local builder and we dealt with people rather than policies. We were also blessed with a project manager (Ron) that cared about us and shared in our excitement as it came together. Ron made this the experience we dreamt it would be and we are forever grateful. The expectation that you can build an entire house without any mistakes or hurdles to overcome is just not realistic, but how those mistakes and hurdles are handled is what truly defines a company and their people. If I could give 10 stars I would, and if I could offer anyone advice like so many offered us early on, it would be to not listen to the horror stories about big name builders you hear these days and spend your time finding the right builder (and hope you get a project manager like we got). We have been very happy with our experience with Nest Homes. Our project manager, Ron, has been nothing short of excellent. Every single time we have brought any issues to his attention they have been addressed and repaired quickly. We have been in our home just over a year and have had no issues other than small cosmetic repairs associated with settling. We have been in our new Nest home for the past two months now and we are loving it. From our first meeting with Zeno on our land to discuss potentially building with Nest we got a really good feeling about him and Nest. We have built four homes prior to this one and this has been by far the most pleasant experience and the best results. Everyone we dealt with at Nest was always helpful and friendly. From working with Zeno on our housing/land needs, Carol helping us choose our options and finishes, Jenna in finance and Tim in legal it was all very stress free. And of course our project manager, Ron Terpak, was the bomb. He was so meticulous and pleasant during the whole build process we had no worries about things turning out just as planned. Ron handled our home like he was building it for his own family. He and his crews did an amazing job and even finished the build a week earlier than originally planned. We are very pleased with the product that Nest has built. They use high quality items and don’t skimp like other home builders. We live in the Mooresville Creek Stone sub division. The Builder Ron has been nothing but awesome all around. He is always on top of everything, and will fix your issues in a reasonable time period. We have been in our new 'nest' a few months and every day I love it even more!! Nest homes is so professional and made this an extremely easy time. I was so scared to start the building process but it was honestly a breeze and everything was right on time - no waiting around. Ron Terpak managed everything so great, made sure each detail was perfect, answered all of my crazy questions and put up with my worries and fears! We closed on our Nest Home this past June and love it. We are really happy with the location and the style and quality of the home. As with any new construction, there are going to be items that the builder needs to follow up with and ours was no different. So, I want to do a shout-out to Nest's project management for their responsiveness to resolve these items. My wife and I have built other homes and without a doubt, this was the best experience. We moved into our home in April, 2018. Building a home is a stressful experience under the best of circumstances. With Nest, we were fortunate enough to have a true professional in Tim Carr as our Project Manager. We moved into the Reserve at Langtree Plantation a year ago and just recently completed our 12 month final walk through. Our Project Manager, Josh Lipko, listened intently and agreed to address all final minor issues that you typically have at the end of 12 months, ie nail pops, minor cracks, etc, just as they said they would at closing. In addition, having Aaron Ringel in the neighbor daily has been fantastic. He, too, has been very attentive and addresses any issues ASAP. Nest is all the good and none of the bad for a home builder. My wife and I built our first home even after being warned by family and friends about how stressful + difficult the process would be. Nest is the exception to that rule and I'm very lucky to have found them. Many specifics to call out but the best part of the process was also by far the most involved - the actual construction project, led by Tim Carr. Nest gets a 5/5 stars and I would find a 6th star for Tim, if I could!!! Great communicator, very level temperament, the guys who work for him love him as much as his customers. We spent months looking at every home builder in the Lake Norman area to find the best fit for my family. To us, it wasn’t about the biggest, fastest, easiest, it was about the relationship we were about to create, and what each company stood for. We learned very early that Nest stood for quality and creating dream homes for each customer that walked through their door. We were able to create a semi-custom home that checked every box that mattered to us while learning about the building process.

As with any home build, we experienced our fair share of bumps in the road. Nest worked with us each time which made it feel more like a relationship, and less like a transaction.
