17620 Fitch, Irvine, CA
Guitar Teacher, Song writer. Acoustic, Electric, Popular, Folk, Rock, Dirt and Dust, some Rockabilly Blues and some jazz (I am NOT a classical guitar instructor). Teaching music since 1989. I like to teach my students- so they know the reasons why chords go where they go - then you can figure out a lot of music much easier.

What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing and hearing the joy of learning to play music come through my students of all ages. From youngsters just learning the basics, young adults getting some serious skills, older folks having a blast playing and creating in music together - it's wonderful! There is simply nothing like it!
What inspired you to start your own business?
There are many needs for people to learn music in various capacities. I am so honored and pleased to be able to share my experience and musical background with so many wonderful learners. I have taught music to auto designers at Hyundai Motors. Guitar and Ukulele at the YMCA of Newport Beach, CA, also at Great Park Orange County, and in many music school sites in this area. I have found myself in the business of sharing music since 1989!

Guitar Basics
Get started with the fun and interesting work of making music of your guitar. Avoid the obstacles and odd habits that cause so many self-starters to hit the proverbial "wall".
I do use some method books and have written one of my own. But the serious value in lessons with an experienced teacher is both inspiration, drive and saving of time. - For many, years are wasted while stuck-in-a-rut with bad habits. C'mon! Life is moving too fast, let's get this goal put together right the first time. I know you want to love your playing of the guitar!
Player of Guitar
This is the second level of guitar where you can move with chords and keep a rhythm going. My lessons in this sense are practical. What counts is how you can play when people hear you. We will include ideas on how to approach workable playing songs for you, and even creating your own songs. You will have plenty of reasons to expand your working knowledge of guitar and music in general.
Guitar Tunesmith I
This level is for those developing their creative powers and the work is aimed at creative elements and getting in touch with your "songwriter's mind". By this level, you'll be seeing through the workings of chords, keys, and scales, and, we will find out that this is actually quite logical and understandable. Especially if you have followed a logical path to get to this level. (Guitar Basics and Player of Guitar courses pre-requisite or by teacher acceptance)
Guitar Tunesmith II
The finer points of creative music-making will be covered here. As well as aspects of melodic poetics, song parts and structures, contrasts, equipment, amps, loopers, basic guitar pedal set ups, recording techniques and principles, and more. Artistic direction and building a performance set will be discussed over the course of these classes. hey, when you're THIS into it, there turns out to be a lot there.
