While I have visited Neidhammer's space neighbor Ash and Elm Cider, I had never ventured over for some coffee on their side of the room. I visited on Sunday and definitely kicked myself for not trying it sooner. I ordered just a normal drip coffee with almond milk and tried one of their pastries. The coffee was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for co-working with a friend. I was happy to find that all the tables had outlets at the base of them which came in handy because I didn't realize before I got there how low my laptop battery was. I also loved the overall  feel of the place. The music was great, the lighting was warm and inviting, and even though it was pretty busy when we were there, it was easy to still hear the people I was with talk without trying to talk over the ambient sound of others. The staff that I interacted with were so kind and the wifi was working great during my visit. I will definitely be moving into this space as my go to coffee on this side of town from here on this side of town. More...

If I lived nearby, this would be my coffee shop. This place is awesome! A simple menu, fast service, great food, excellent prices. What is there not to like I had the state street crepe, (yes auto-correct, crepe is a word) and it was wonderful. Not overstuffed,  lightly wilted spinach, and seasoned well. As I was finishing it I was thinking a small side of salsa or pico would be really nice with it. If I order it again,  I'd at least ask for that.Great mocha, and small selection of pastries and donuts, including a couple gluten free things. They are very close to.I-70, and it is a large space, definitely worth a trip off the highway if you are passing thru. More...

Scopes out Neidhammer on one of my study days - they have such a nice open space with plenty of seating and charging ports at each table so it's the perfect place to get stuff done. It's a little quiet so working alone was hard for me but I still managed to get a lot done in a couple hours (that's how long their parking is for according to the sign and I didn't want to hog spots) but I imagine it would be very good for group work. The WiFi is great and the customer service is excellent. I got a full size crepe for lunch with a Nutella latte and both were exceptional. I've mentioned before that I'm a Starbucks fiend so anywhere that has coffee that lives up to my sugar loaded tastes is always a plus for me. And the crepe was light and perfectly rich enough for lunch. If I have one gripe about this place - the seats are not the most comfy so 2 hours is about all I could manage before my back started to ache. Other than that it's pretty much the perfect place to get stuff done! More...

The crepes were really good and the latte was rich and smooth. The seats were slightly uncomfortable so I wouldn't recommend staying there longer than two hours. Which is the amount of time customers are allowed to park behind the shop. Also parking is very limited so you may be required to park further away from the coffee shop. More...

Elli, John and Eliza are a wondeful team and they make planning and the day of wedding so easy for us.

From the initial meetings to the wine tasting to the day of actual wedding, they went above and beyond to make sure that we had the best day!

John is an amazing DJ who was very creative. Ours was an Indian American wedding and he played some really good bollywood music and our families loved it! He knew exactly what we wanted and I can tell he will be the perfect DJ for any wedding. He adds unique personal touches that are just phenomenal.

Eliza and Elli have such a cool head on their shoulder and just make you feel stress free by planning the initial meetings and keep us on track to get everything done.

I will highly recommend the whole team Eliza, Elli and John for your wedding. They are the best!

We love Vietnamese iced coffees. However, when the craving hits, we can't always make the trek to a Vietnamese restaurant for an authentic drip version of it. So, we appreciate that you can order a 20 oz. version at Neidhammer for $5 that tastes mostly authentic and is prepared lightning fast. Neidhammer offers multiple unique drinks that I don't see elsewhere, including the Saraba, a warming complex drink made with whole & coconut milk, turmeric, ginger, cardamon, and cinnamon. Add a shot of espresso to make it dirty.  The sage berry tea is a great choice for the decaf set.  I like to order it unsweetened since it comes with almost a cup's worth of semi-frozen mix of blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries...you don't need the added sugar and are getting a serving or two of fruit.  Neidhammer also has seasonal lattes that are super creativeI enjoy Neidhammer's calm, well-lit atmosphere. It has never been insanely busy the times we've visited and the baristas have always been very friendly.  If you aren't lucky enough to get a parking space or nearby street parking, there is a large lot across Washington.  Navigating the traffic to walk across Washington Street is not fun, but you just have to have patience.  When Neidhammer or Ash & Elm Cider are hosting events, they arrange a police officer at the intersection to guide pedestrians across the street.   We haven't experienced any of Neidhammer's food options, but the baked goods look pretty good and the plates of crepes always look inviting.  I'd definitely recommend visiting Neidhammer to try out a brand new drink and support their presence in this near-east side neighborhood. It's not easy to get to, but worth the effort!  This pioneer coffee shop was an early arrival in trying to help the near east side make a comeback.  Located across from the east end of the rejuvenated Willard Park on Washington St, the coffee house/event center shares space with Ash & Elm Cider in a very cool space.  Lots of brick on the interior and antique coffee making/measuring equipment makes for a cool vibe though the business isn't that old!  There's a dining area in the front of the shop and more 2-top seating along the center wall between the businesses.  Note that the wall between the two businesses has several open areas (no doors) that make it easy to bounce back and forth between them.  That's a good thing since the restrooms are down the hall on the Ash & Elm side. Note 2:  You need to borrow the keys for the restrooms.  The keys are kept at the end of the pickup counter in Neidhammer and on a merchandise table at A&H.The staff was very friendly and helpful and I was soon enjoying my medium roast drip coffee.  I also devoured an almond croissant (via Circle City Sweets) that was on display at the order counter.  Like many coffee shops, you should expect to bus your own table when you finish with the return near the front entrance. The only real negative for me is that there is a minimal amount of parking on site.  Most guests park across 5-lane Washington Street and try to time crossing  where there is no designated cross walk.  You also compete with traffic trying to pull onto Washington from Hamilton on the west side of the building.  Street parking on Hamilton is fine if you come from the north, but know that you can only park on the west side of Hamilton.  I hope that the business can at least get a crosswalk and maybe a caution light to let drivers be on the lookout.Review #2301 More...

And the staff were all nice and professional and friendly. They only down side to the place is that the chairs are uncomfortable. We were at a tall table, and neither of us could get comfortable. It shortened our visit. We liked it enough that we're planning to go back and try the shorter tables to see if they're better. Mhhmm, Tis' the season for warm yummy coffee from local Coffee Shops. I don't know about you but as soon as the temperature drops, I feel like I am getting coffee out nearly every week. (my bank account crying in the background)  Buying coffee at local coffee shops can get pretty pricy, trust me, if you want to save money, the first thing you should look at is how much you are spending for coffee and out to eat. Anyways, on to talking about the good stuff, the taste of the coffee at The Neidhammer. Finally I was able to stop by after having driven past here so many times. I ordered the lavender latte with almond milk to make the drink vegan. I ordered it for there and WOW the latte art was beautiful in the big mug that was brought out to the table. It tasted amazing too, it was just the right amount of sweetness for me as I asked it to have one pump less of syrup because I don't like my coffee tooooooo sweet. Also, I want to add that the prices are kind of steep, but the taste pays off. We sat for a while and looked around the shop as there was art on the walls and some coffee magazines and the Neidhammer Event Wedding Magazine. This is when I became slightly disappointed after having had such a wonderful drink. The wedding magazine (The Neidhammer hosts events) didn't have a single LGBTQ+ couple in the magazine. Then, after looking online about a news post that the Neidhammer had declined hosting a drag queen music video, stating that it was a misunderstanding. I wondered to myself if it was truly a misunderstanding or if they don't support this population. I would like to say that I hope to return The Neidhammer for another cup o' joe, but due to the lack of welcoming to the LGBTQ+ population, I don't know I will return. More...

I have used this venue to meet with clients.  The place is largely as other reviewers have portrayed it:  clean, friendly staff, good parking off the street, attractive environment, music not so loud you can't think, power outlets on every table (none of which wobble, thank God).  So, why the four stars? And not five stars? The reason is that I had a particularly unsettling experience at 2 pm when I asked for a cup of coffee.  The staff indicated that the coffee in the pots was not fresh.  I pushed back reminding them that this is a "coffee company" and it is reasonable for a customer to always expect the availability of good brewed coffee.  With the push back one of the young women offered to make a cup of filtered coffee. I accepted and it was very good.  But there is more.  The person I was meeting also managed to get a coffee (not sure if it was from the bottom of the pot or filtered).  In any case, when she asked for cream, she was told that there was none downstairs and that someone would go two floors up to get  it.  She never went up.  My client just decided to let it go.  But she should have had the availability of cream for her coffee.  Again, this is a coffee shop.Neidhammer needs to think about this.  Also, people wanting coffee there in the afternoon need to think about this.  There are many great coffee venues all over downtown and near downtown that are excellent and that manage to have coffee (come on!) in the afternoon.  For myself, I will think twice about meeting a customer there in the future.
