The Metropolitan has amazing food, and great staff. The atmosphere is classy, upbeat, and fun. The prices are comparable to going to Colorado for a reasonably dressed up night out, but the portions are so much more at the Met. The quality of food is really up there. The Brussel sprouts have everyone raving for good reason- the flavors mix wonderfully and the textures are spot on. Have an upscale night out locally, and support downtown Cheyenne! More...

Ordered take out from here for lunch. Delicious food and reasonable wait time. I ordered the burger and the patty was well seasoned, the bun fresh and delicious, and the veggies crisp. The lady taking my order and very nice and explained where to pick up my food very clearly (you go next door to the liquor store). The rest of the menu looked very promising, and I can't wait to come back in the evening at some point. The restaurant itself has a very cultivated atmosphere, which is atypical for the Cheyenne area but something we probably needed. Nice restaurant. Really surprised how big it really is when you walk in. The food was amazing. It was a lot louder than I would have thought it would be. With a bar inside you figure they would've thought about how to separate or soften the noise so it didn't carry as much into the dining room but is wasn't loud where we had to yell at each other so we could hear. It wasn't super loud is what I'm saying, just caught me by surprise. I gave a 4 star review mainly because the staff didn't even acknowledge us when we were leaving. I've been to diners where when leaving the house would at least thank us or tell us to have a good night. The hostesses just looked right at us as we were leaving and went about their conversation they were having with each other. Not enough to ruin my experience but something that should not happen in such a high end restaurant for this town. I highly recommend this place though. Sat at the bar with a co-worker.  The bar staff were so helpful and attentive.  We had the fried brussel sprouts and honey chili wings off of the social hour menu.  Both were flavorful and delicious.  I had the kale & arugula salad with salmon.  The salmon was a little under done for me,  but I like the salad.  My co-worker had The Met  salad with salmon, which is a very hearty salad.  She liked it.  I will be back to try the Korean short rib & sushi rice! Sat at bar great service! Drinks a little expensive but so worth it!! Small plates- chicken wing best we'd ever had!! Split the chicken Alfredo! ! Plenty of food for my husband and I. The Met is a great place to have a nice sit down meal and get something different than a "chain" restaurant in Cheyenne. Ask to sit at the Chef's table so you can see Chef Juan and his team whip up all of the wonderful offerings on the menu, and maybe even sneak you a little preview.Both times we've been here it has been a fantastic experience...keep up the great work!! The best restaurant in Cheyenne. The food is excellent. I had the salmon. It was prepared perfectly over a bed of delicious fried rice and asparagus. My dining partners had a cheeseburger, which I sampled. It too was delicious. The waiter was friendly and accurate. He gave us just the right attention. My best friend and I were in Cheyenne for the weekend and loved The Metropolitan Downtown. We were greeted right away with a very sweet smile from the hostess. We asked to sit at the bar and our bartender was just as friendly. We had 2 drinks and the artichoke & spinach dip. Everything was great. Our bartender was very attentive and friendly. What a great spot! My son and I were driving through Cheyenne on a road trip, and he pulled up The Metropolitan on Yelp. When the average thirteen year old picks a restaurant there is always a little concern in what you are going to get. However, this was an amazing choice! He had the Mr. Benedict, and I had the Chorizo Hash. Both were excellent! We also had the truffle fries as an appetizer. They were really good. The atmosphere is excellent too. Cool decor! On the first visit, waited for them to work out the kinks in any new establishment.  Greeted very professionally and seated in a comfortable two seater booth. Greeted very promptly by our waitress who had a fab personality and drinks ordered and brought to the table in a timely manner.  Told us the impromptus chef special with a charcuterie board of local cheeses and varied berries and meats. Sounded awesome but I wanted to try them in full force in a full set of courses.  We ordered an appetizer of marinated olives that came with goat cheese and fresh toasted bread.  For salad I tried their Caesar.  Outstanding brightness in flavor, not your traditional boring Caesar. For main course I ordered the pan sautéed chicken breast skillfully cooked with the thigh portion attached to gain flavor from the bone. It was delectable and bright and tender and sat on top of a bed of mashed potatoes with sun dried tomatoes with a flavor I've never had before...amazing.  My husband had the mushroom burger and I believe he fell in love with it. It was served with a fantastic tasting batch of fries that had ingenious seasoning on them!  Please chef don't take it off the menu!  I cannot wait to go again and try out the chefs new menu especially with the farmers market starting up!  I truly hope that meatless choices always find a place in the menu.  Wish I had the time to meet the chef, and tell them how much I loved the meal. I am a foodie and my job allows me to travel the world and eat incredible food. I must admit that one of the best meals I have eaten is at the Metropolitan. From the minute you walk in the door until the last bite of your dessert the Metropolitan knocks everything out of the park. The decor, the music, the cocktails are all upscale. I live in Chicago and the Metropolitan absolutely stands up to any restaurant in Chi-town. I ordered the Met burger, brussel sprouts and cheesecake for dessert. The burger was 100% gourmet, the sprouts were off the hook, and the cheesecake was homemade and delightful! Top it off with a perfectly made Old Fashion!! What a beautiful place! Very classy and superior service. The food came out with great timing. I'm reading some of these other reviews and wondering if we ate at the same place..? I cannot say enough good things about this place. First of all the place is gorgeous and has a very good feel to it. I realize it's a new place but they've done a great job bringing the past into the now. Decor is classy and cool. Dark and vibey! Ok we started with the Brussels sprouts and ahi sashimi.. both had beautiful presentation and spot on delicious. Main course was chicken and honestly couldn't have been better. Perfect. We shared a sundae that was unlike any sundae I've ever had. Ice cream with this insane Mexican hot chocolate poured over the top. Dynamite! There's nothing quite like this in Cheyenne, Wyoming! The quality of service, the menu options and the atmosphere are incredible. I highly recommend! I had the fried brussel sprouts, filet, and a toffee cake for dessert. The brussel sprouts were amazing and a must try...trust me! The filet was cooked perfectly and the flavor was unlike any filet I've had before. The toffee cake was the perfect dessert to end the evening. I would recommend The Metropolitan Downtown to anyone in Cheyenne, around Wyoming, tourists in the area, and encourage Northern Colorado folks to make the short drive up north to experience a taste of Cheyenne.
