Greek corner is a great option for speedy delivery and healthy eats in my neighborhood. I recently had a pal over for a playdate with our girls. We lugged them up the street to look at christmas lights and worked up an appetite (2 three year olds and a five year old and a big wagon equals about 120 lbs pulled uphill haha). Once we had the munchkins home and snuggled up watching Frozen (of course) it was time for the moms to order in dinner - and Greek Corner was our choice. We both got what they call "platters" and extra sides and enjoyed most everything we ordered. The only reason for the lack of a fifth star was that sadly my chicken kabob was quite dry. Other than that, the accurate and quick delivery of our well packaged order, the gyro meat, spices, flavors and the sauces were all top notch! If you want to experience a great Greek meal, you have to visit the Greek Corner Cafe in Carmel Mountain. We ordered the Greek Chicken Salad with pita bread and tzatziki sauce. It is one of the best we've ever tasted. I can't wait to taste other items on the menu. They also have a nice selection of red and white wines. Baklava is some of the best. Ordered through DoorDash. Not even going to talk about DoorDash cause they are who they are. I thought Greek Corner cafe was better than what I received. I ordered gyros, and the lamb/beef was dry and over cooked. Old tomatoes, very few onions, the list continues. They were big, but it seemed like they were just getting rid of old meat in my gyros. I've been eating here forever, and the food is always delicious. Came here again recently and was not disappointed. The staff is always welcoming and friendly and the food is authentic and delicious. Second time I've eaten here, the first was pre-covid. Today's visit was great. I had a gyro and my partner had a halloumi sandwich. We asked to sit outside. A staff member wiped and disinfected our table before seating us. Our order was taken without any issue and our food was ready promptly. Wanting to support a local business.Stopped by on a Thursday for a few Gyros, take out order. The gentleman that greeted me was polite and friendly. The cook behind the counter did not say anything but looked rather unhappy by the look I was given.The meat was moist and flavorful and an okay portion but it was missing fresh tomatoes, onions, and greens. The Tzatziki sauce was good with a slight garlic tinge. The flat bread was soft and held together well. I would like to give them a 4 but it just fell short again, we would like to make this place a regular spot but the quality needs to improve and become reliable with the prices that keep tending upwards. This place used to be amazing but this was the first time I've been there since changing ownership. We ordered kebabs and they were so dry we couldn't even eat them. I paid over $50 for two entrées and an appetizer. Both the chicken and steak was literally burnt. The rest was just OK. The portions were generous but the prices were outrageous at 20 bucks a plate. Great authentic Greek food. My father and I stopped to grab a quick bite and ordered a couple of Gyro sandwiches. They were AMAZING, and if you are feeling a little risky try it with the new spicy tzatziki sauce.

Chicken was dry and burnt. Zucchini slices between the kebabs were tasteless and mushy. Rice was mushy. Didn't care for the salad dressing. My husband got horrible acid reflux from the gyros plate. First the good.The staff are very friendly and helpful. Good customer relations.They give you good portion sizes.The dishes with salads had lots of fresh veggies as well as extra veggies with hummus. The lamb kabob is good but maybe missing a bit of spice.The gyro meat was good and my son loved the sandwhich. However, Ive personally had better. What takes a gyro sandwhich over the top is when the pita bread is lightly heated/tosted in pan with a good olive oil. If they did just that one thing theyd find their gyros become much more addictive.The tzatziki is good with generous portion but just a tad thicker than I personally like.The ricecwas just ok tonight. My daughter commented it wasnt as good as Shish Grill back home that has very well cooked soft rice pilaf that is very flavorful. This time the rice was a little harder and bland.Now the bad.Ive had much better hummus. I think it lacked some more spice like garlic. Also if its blended better in a fine chop blender it will come out with a creamier texture than the current chunky texture.The chicken kabob skewer we got was terribly over cooked and chewy. Perhaps I have to ask for it to be less cooked. I prefer tender. Maybe its the quality of the chicken that was poor but not sure.I wasnt a fan of their spicy sauce. It tasted and looked a bit too much like tabasco sauce. A garlic chilli sauce or even just sriracha sauce with some pickles chopped with it in a blender would be much better.I will be trying other places in the area to compare. FLAVOR up the wazoo! My fam and I stopped by the Rancho Bernardo location, our local GCC in Carlsbad has been under renovation, and omg we love it here. This location was the first we ever went to when we lived in Valley Center, we were regulars back in the day. We made the drive from the coast, because we've always loved GCC. Never ever disappoints. I wish I knew the young man's name who waited on our table, he was super sweet, and so attentive. I'm a huge fan of the lamb shank, seriously just writing about it makes my mouth water. lol My kids love the gyro plate, and the Greek combo is so Y_U_M! Honestly, we LOVE the food! Always wanted to try the GCC, went with couple of friends. I tried the Halloumi Salad. The flavor of halloumi isn't overly cheesy - it's more just a salty flavor, and a little creamy. You only need a small amount of halloumi to add a lot of flavor to your food - it's got such an intense salty flavor that really lifts everything you cook to the next level!. Man this place is definitely a hidden gem tucked in this shopping center! I ordered a gyros plate to go and when I opened it up at home I was surprised how packed this thing was! !! It comes with carved gyro meat, Greek salad, yellow rice and pita bread. The gyro is in thick slices and very flavorful! I was expecting it to be dry, but I was wrong. They give you a good amount of it too. The rice actually tasted really good and I enjoyed it. The pita was warm and fresh and didn't taste store bought. The salad was nice and refreshing like a Greek salad should be with the cucumbers and tomatoes and feta. This meal was more than enough to have leftovers for lunch, and all for $15!!! Some of the BEST food I have ever had. Their hummus (family recipe) was mind blowing. Fresh ingredients, full of flavor. My husband had the gyro and couldn't stop raving about it. By far the best baklava I have EVER had! It had a sweet cinnamon-ie taste which I just loved!! I only got one (which I am soooo mad about). Definitely going back to get more!I got their Greek combo plate and decided on extra pita bread inside of pilaf. When I opened the container my mouth dropped!!! The food looked soooo good and there was soooo much!!!! I barely ate half of it and saving the other half for later! The steak was nice and juicy and the gyros tasted fantastic! Not what it used to be. Got takeout last night and the kafta kabob was dry and over cooked to the point where part of it was actually burned. Picked up our food curbside. My car smelled SO GOOD all the way home. Food was still hot by the time we sat down to eat. Ordered dinner coupon special 2 for $28 choose two from the platters menu.
