We debated whether to use an immigration attorney to apply for my partner's Green card. After speaking to several immigration attorneys we happened upon Robert and from the first phone consultation we knew he was the attorney for us. I can't say enough about how helpful he was in preparing us for every stage of the process. He was organized, thorough, well-informed, prompt, quick to return phone calls, flexible in meeting place and times, Etc. On top of that he is a genuinely nice guy and understands the emotional ups and downs this process can create for his clients. When we finally got to the actual interview there was nothing that came up that we had not been prepared for. He brought a notebook filled with everything we had submitted including extra material for the examiner might be interested in. At the conclusion of the interview we were informed that we had passed and I don't doubt at all that having Robert as our attorney was a significant factor. After the interview Robert explain the timetable for the 10 year green card and citizenship. He went on to say that he would be happy to help with either but he thought we could probably do it on our own without need for an attorney. It goes without saying that we were both impressed with that kind of honesty.What has been even more impressive is what has happened since we got the green card. As the various deadlines have approached we received emails or phone calls from Robert reminding us of application deadlines. While filling out the 10 year and citizenship applications we ran into some questions we just didn't know how to answer and called Robert. In each instance he was more than willing to take time to answer every question we had, even though we were no longer active clients. The kind of care and service we have received from him goes way beyond what one would normally expect. Robert is awesome. I was eear ended in Feburary and both my insurance and the other party's insurance did not care much. Robert was flexible and offered a consultation at 6pm at his office, which fit my schedule. He would always answer his email and phone calls in a timely manner. Robert also got my insurance to use my MedPay to pay for my Chiropractor, scheduled an appointment to get my car damage estimated and got me a good settlement in the end. I would 100% recommend him. We hired Robert Myers for our immigration case and we just can find enough great words to describe his work. He was on top of all the paperwork that had to be followed up. He was all the time in touch with us when updates for our case were coming. He was answering emails and phone calls whenever we had questions. He showed great knowledge of the law, since he always had a reliable answer for us. Also the day of our interview he was there in the court on time waiting for us. Robert Myers is terrific.  We hired him to handle my partner's change of immigration status and application for permanent residency after DOMA was struck down. This review is about Robert Myers, an attorney working at My Advocate Group.This past spring, my partner and I had gotten married prior to the Supreme Court striking down DOMA.  My partner was working on an H1B visa, but after DOMA was struck down we decided to start looking into the green card process.  After contacting Pride Legal, an LGBT advocacy group, we were referred to Mr. Myers.  He came highly recommended and we set up a consultation.  During the initial consultation, Mr. Myers was extremely informative and friendly.  After we left, my husband and I immediately agreed that we wanted Mr. Myers to be our lawyer.  The best part about the whole process was that we had just spent a lot of money moving to LA, and Mr. Myers offered a payment plan that fit our financial situation.  Throughout the entire process, Mr. Myers was very professional.  The best part was how flexible he was, meeting with us after work hours since both my husband and I work until 5:00 and couldn't get to his downtown offices until at least 6:00.  We never felt rushed during any of our meetings and we felt very supported thoughout the whole process.  Mr. Myers promptly responded to all our e-mails and phone calls, sometimes within minutes.   He coached us through the interview process and accompanied us to the final interview with the INS.   Our case was approved without a hitch.  All in all, the entire process only took several months and was very stress free.I highly recommend Mr. Myers for any immigration case, and especially recommend him for same sex couples.  Government bureaucracy can be intimidating, but Mr. Myers clearly knows how to navigate it and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire process from application to approval.
