Music Studio of Karen A Betz-Griewahn specializes in one to one piano and flute instruction to student of all ages and ability levels. Karen is known for her students winning various competitions through Michigan and enters students into MMTA, NMFC, SAT, NFA events. A program of complete musical growth- music theory, aural skills, performance, ensembles, technic is used in every lesson. With karen's over 40 years of experience, she can help the beginner's progress very quickly, the intermediate student pick up with their skills that may be lacking and challenge the advanced student with repertoire spanning all eras of music.
Karen especially enjoys teaching adult students, whether the student is returning to music, continuing their studies or starting a new interest of music. Karen uses her skills not only as a musician and music teacher, but is a good listener, is organized and offers a specialized plan for each student.
Performance opportunities are available.
Karen also helps administrate the GR Musician's League K-12 music program, a once a month music club. She has extensive leadership background and performs on flute, piccolo and alto flute with the West Michigan flute orchestra and also plays at several area Lutheran churches as pianist. She served previously as music director at St. Luke's Lutheran and St. Matthew Lutheran as music director and also has much experience conducting both vocal and instrumental ensembles. She also was an assistant to the band program at Byron Center Christian schools for many years.
Karen loves to see each student excel and meet and exceed their musical potential.
