I've been to mudbugs and always return. The food is awesome, and we've never had a bad server. It does get quite packed, since it's a small restaurant, but it's well worth the wait. The prices are normal for seafood which isn't cheap, and you get quite a bit. The crawfish are great, as well as the shrimp boil! More...

We went here with my family for my graduation weekend and it was AMAZING. Taylor our waitress was awesome. The wings were awesome we tried all the flavors the garlic pepper wings were everyone's favorite. We had the street corn, the shrimp boil and the crab boil and the spices were wonderful not to spicy but full of a lot of flavor. I got the tenderloin and garlic Parmesan orzo with a back potatoes and it was to die for. The steak was overcooked they took it back and got me a new one. Which was cooked perfectly and the manager was very nice when he brought it out. The atmosphere was casual but very upscale at the same time. We will even be back again tonight with more friends! I had the Cajun cheddar grits with Shrimp. It was delicious. Only thing missing would have been  a couple of hush puppies or a small side salad. Service was very slow. The waitress was entertaining some people and never got to us so we went to the bar after 15 minutes. Then we were not waited on for another 5 minutes. But the food was good. I will be going again. Have been twice to Mudbugs Cajun Icehouse in Corpus and loved it!! Service was great, and food was excellent. I loved both specials I got. The first time I had blue cheese & andouille sausage stuffed chicken and tonight I had the blackened red fish and fried soft shell crab. We also loved both of the gumbos. Delicious!! Stumbled upon this restaurant when we were looking for somewhere to eat before going to "The Great Escape of Corpus Christi". The staff was friendly, atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. On top of all that, they easily sat and fed all ten of us quickly so we could make it to the escape room in time. Five stars. We will definitely be back! More...

Very limited seating.  We noticed at least 4 tables along the wall that said reserved but in the whole two hours we were there, not a single person sat there.  If seating is so limited, and it's a busy Friday night, I would think they wouldn't want those to stay empty. More...

Watermelon martinis are dangerous!! A must try! Food was very flavorful! Friendly service but a bit slow to refill drinks. Not a big deal considering how friendly our server was. Be prepared to pay! Preseason crawfish: $12 per pound it's comes with corn and potatoes but no sausages ): I thought the prices there was expensive. But the food did not fail! We ordered two pounds of crawfish and fried gator bites that were also $12 but the gators was worth it! Great environment, very small place only holds about 90 people. The woman's bathroom was very caring, they have lotion, feminine products. It shows this restaurant cares! Overall great food, just the prices is a bit expensive. More...

I have been to mudbugs twice now and will definitely be returning! Their house watermelon martini is a very refreshing drink to start with. The fired gator and oysters on the half shell are good starters, but the chicken & sausage gumbo is by far my favorite starter. For the entree I tried the cajun chicken pasta, which has a nice flavor to it. The blackened chicken over linguine alfredo was great, however I didn't care for the dirty rice (needs more flavor in my opinion). All in all, the service and food has been great both times and I look forward to trying some of their other menu items on my third visit. More...

Everything about the menu layout, decoration, and dishes makes one feel like this is an upscale venue. Once you sit down, talk with the wait staff, and try the food, however, it feels more like a local eatery trying to figure out it's direction. There weren't many options for wine drinkers and the main bartender encouraged me to take the more economical route. ("I mean, you can get two glasses for the price of one if you get the canned wine.") I'm not pretentious about wine, but I've yet to have anything great that's come out of a can and was rather apprehensive. After a bit of deliberation, I decided to go with his recommendation, the Porch Pounders Red Blend, and was pleasantly surprised!I ordered the seafood boil with king crab + shrimp, hot. Instead of four corn cobs, I asked to substitute two with andouille sausage. The bartender had to check with management, but it was approved. When my boil arrived, it was accompanied by the usual server ware (see picture). After a few bites, I didn't find it anywhere near hot, so the 'tender brought me a small cup of the spicy seasoning (Slap Yo Momma products). When we were talking about my seafood boil choices, I must have missed the component where king crab was $25 for HALF a lbs...so my bill was significantly higher than I thought. I didn't raise a stink about it because it was a business meal, but I'd be cautious when adding ingredients. I also asked the bartender if the shrimp were head-on, to which he said they were, but arrived without heads. Overall I was happy with my wine and meal. I agree with other Yelpers that Mudbugs is a bit more pricey than other venues in the area (even without my +$25 snafu). I understand why Mudbugs is in the cajun/creole culinary genre, but I'd label it more aspiring. All that being said, I will most likely revisit Mudbugs when I'm back in the area. I'd love to try other dishes on the menu! More...

Excellent food and outstanding service! We went for the first time just a couple weeks ago with some friends down from Austin. I'm a crawfish lover and was disappointed they didn't have any in restaurant yet, but also respect that they're not serving frozen crawfish; props there. I am from the Carolinas originally and love Shrimp and Grits, so that's what I ordered; they nailed it. The food had great flavor, perfect amount of spice, and it was quick. The only reason I'll hold one star off of a 5 star review was that it was a little pricey. I'd still recommend it in a heartbeat and my family and I will be back. More...

My new GO TO Cajun joint in town. Atmosphere is very  inviting and quaint. Seating is very ample with lots of elbow room to eat comfortably. Our waitress Chloe, was very attentive and helpful. She made the recommendation of Cajun chicken and shrimp pasta, of which I am very thankful that she did. It was delectable and probably the best I've ever had; the flavors bringing me back to Bourbon Street in New Orleans. For an appetizer, I got the seafood gumbo, which was a treat in itself. Highly recommended. My companions got the shrimp boil, which they told me was the best shrimp that they have had "in ages". To close the meal off, our amazing waitress recommended that we try the bread pudding and the beignets! Yes, that's right... I said bread pudding and beignets! The bread pudding came out warm with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top- just the way I remember having it as a child. I couldn't have left this place any happier. Best meal I have had from a restaurant IN AGES! Do yourself a favor and try it here, you will be happy that you did! Definitely returning!! More...

Super nice guy. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is really relaxing and chill. The bartender made some delicious drinks.
