I reached out to Mystical Sounds one week before an event where we needed DJ equipment & lighting (which I know nothing about) and Joe responded immediately with recommendations when I wasn't sure exactly what to order. We already had a DJ on our team who provided a list of equipment requirements, but it turned out that one of our DJ's recommendations would have been incompatible with the USB he planned to use - which Joe spotted and made sure we corrected before finalizing the order. Before the party Joe visited the venue to make sure that the proposed location for the equipment would have enough outlets and space. During the party Joe and a member of his team were on-hand the whole time in case anything went wrong (which it didn't - the sound and lighting were awesome) and handled set-up and breakdown. Our wedding went great, and the live sound & audio that Matt and the guys put together were perfect.  The processional walk down the aisle was never rehearsed with the music, but it went so smoothly you'd think we practiced many times. Then for the reception, we'd asked for DJ services, but also needed a live band setup so that me (the groom) and my friends could play some live music.  This included renting a drumkit, vocal mics, DI's for guitar, and the PA.  This live music part went great; with the quickest of sound checks before the ceremony, we were ready to go with the live music right after we cut the cake.  The sound was clear, the mix was great, and the drums sounded much better than my drummer buddy expected when I told him he'd be playing on a rented kit!The DJ'd portions of the party - cocktail/dinner music first, and later the dance music - were just right.  We gave Matt a thumb drive of the music we wanted, and he stuck to it for most of the night, and also added some of his own choices in a similar vein to keep the dance floor hopping.We really appreciated the team's professionalism all the way through this process.  Mystical Sounds was so easy to work with, even when we were still rethinking certain pieces related to the music just days before the event.  Their prices were very reasonable, and they always instilled us with confidence along the way that our DJ & music needs were going to be handled the right way.  We highly recommend using Mystical Sounds for your wedding or party event!  - D&M More...

We called mystical sounds at 10am in the morning for  DJ services the same night and Joe was able to pull it all together. The DJ played exactly the type of music that got the crowd pumped and dancing. By the end of the night, everybody was having a blast and we had to ask people to leave. Hello everyone  I have a very big event coming up on July for over 400 people . So I'm looking all over to rent sound system and lightning and Good DJ for my event . I'm Soooo stress becausethis is First time I'm doing my music event service for 400 people I was very nervous for all the thing coming up And worry  for everything Finally I found Joe Ho   .  They are very professional with great service . We would like to thank Mystical Sounds for their outstanding service. We contacted Joe a week before our event in desperate need for wireless uplights. He responded very quickly and was also very flexible. Joe was extremely accommodating with our budget. On the night of our event, we worked with Shawn who was also accommodating, especially when it came to the placement of the lights. This helped us create what we envisioned possible. Shawn also made some great recommendations that were implemented which made the night even more special. I first hired Joe almost twenty years ago while I was a college kid at the University of Hawaii. It was my first big party and I remember being so nervous to hire a DJ for my first huge 1000 person party. Even back then Joe made everything easy and put all my new event planning jitters to rest. Now that I've grown into my big girl pants and have hundreds of events under my belt he's still the person I turn to when I have something really big to plan. He gets back to you very quickly, knows all the electrical needs that I earnestly never want or care to learn about, and can trouble shoot almost any situation. Once I had a party where a vendor forgot to put his brake on in his truck and Joe jumped into the vehicle before it ran someone over. This part stuntman, part lighting guru has saved me from countless event mishaps time and again. We hired Mystical Sounds for our wedding recently and from the first time I sat down with Joe, I knew I was in good hands. He took us through the process and what we should be thinking about when it comes to lighting and entertainment. I really had no idea how complex it could be but he had plenty of good options for us to customize the wedding the way we wanted to. He has a great eye for detail and went the extra mile to provide a wonderful experience for our big day. On the day itself, his staff and Joe took care of everything. 4 year over due review!! My husband and I got our monogram lighting from MSP...suuuper cute and a great touch to our wedding reception at the Hilton Hawaiian Village!  We got a ton of compliments from our guests.Joe was so easy to work with, I was able  to reserve this and do all of the communication via email.  Very convenient as I was working full time and was stressing planning our wedding.  He was probably the easiest vendor I worked with.  He always responded quickly to any questions I had, I LOVE that!  Any bride-to-be would know that a fast response eases the stress!  Plus when the day of our wedding came, we entered the ballroom and there was our monogram!  Beautiful!!We also got our MC, Scotty B, through them and we were incredibly happy.Fast forward to the present date...we are blessed with a beautiful 5 month old daughter and planning her 1st birthday party.  MSP came to mind once again for the monogram lighting!  Contacted them and received a response from Joe only a few hours later.  How awesome is that?!  Highly recommend them to anyone!  Not just for the monogram but any other service they offer.  Don't delay because I'm sure they book quickly! I recently coordinated a military event at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Ballrooms.  After extensive price comparisons, our lucky stars found Joe Ho and Mystical Sounds and we were happy with their great price quote!  The event was a breakfast fundraiser and everything had to be ready by 6:45 AM.  Joe and his crew came in the night before and efficiently set up the ballroom, checked, re-checked the sound.  They were meticulous about getting everything perfect.  The stage and wall lighting was a beautiful thing!  As a result, our event went on without a hitch, started exactly on time (military style!) and ended on time (with a few minutes to spare)!  They were amazing! We just completed a joint Project Grad event for Kaimuki and Farrrington High Schools with Mystcal Sounds at the Podium Raceway this past Sunday from midnight to 2:00 a. m..  Joe provided a DJ in the middle of the track with laser lighting and virtual karaoke in one of the meeting rooms.  These activities added to the great party atmosphere as the race cars zoomed around the track.  Over the years, I have hired Mystical Sounds for numerous school dances and events for middle school and high school students.  What I have always appreciated is the professionalism of Joe and his staff, especially around students, who can sometimes try everyone's patience.  The best part is you know what you are going to get with Mystical Sounds, and that is you are not going to get "surprises" and things will work out well. My review is wayyyy over due. My wedding was back in October 2012. I contacted them at such short notice being I was so indecisive on if I wanted up lighting or not.  Joe was really great! He was always on top of calling and emailing me back with information. As for the product I had  6 blue lights behind my head table, it made the room look amazing! I couldn't be happier with how great the lights looked. And during my dancing portion of the night it turned all types of colors which help set the mood. I am doing two events this year with Mystical Sounds.  My sons 1st birthday party and my husbands Yakudoshi.  I was planning more than a year in advance.  Joe, helped so much with my vision and my budget.  Often i changed my mind depending on theme and budget.  He helped with everything.  We met and he showed me systems and effects until i was satisfied.  Even up to a few days before i was still adding on to my party.  The emcee Maleko was incredible, the dj took request even old school songs, the camera guy took all the pictures of the guest.  I was so busy i didnt take any pictures so i will just purchase pictures from them.  I gave them a time for setting up there were on time and even offered to help me with setting up.  You can tell them the setting and the experience you want your guest to have and they will come up with amazing things.  We got the system # 2 Which i think is the best package they do everything for you.  Joe and his crew are amazing and i will recommend and definitely use them again and again.  Dont hesistate they are truly professional.  I am very satisfied and i am very lucky to have found them. We hired Mystical Sounds for a large fundraiser event in a beautiful and historic building.  We had a very specific color scheme and although it was a unique shade/color, Joe worked to make it perfect. On the day of the event, the crew arrived early to set up and was ready to go well before opening.  They selected the perfect music to play and that coupled with the gorgeous uplighting set the mood for a fantastic night.  We received so many compliments on how beautiful the place looked and how elegant the lighting was, and we told them it was ALL Mystical Sounds!  From the initial meeting to the time of clean up, Mystical Sounds and every single person involved from Mystical Sounds was professional, polite, hard working, and very very easy to work with.  We had absolutely no problems and everything went smoothly and seamlessly, with so little effort on our part.  I will most definetly use Mystical Sounds again whenever I need any type of audio or video work done!!! Mystical Sounds went above and beyond our expectations.  They are the best in Hawaii!  My wife and I married a few days ago at Koolau ballrooms.  Koolau is already a very beautiful setting but when MSP came in and set up the uplighting/ monogram/pipes and drapes it brought a whole new dimension.  I was amazed at how they could transform a whole room.  Joe is extremely professional and easy to work with.  There is no pressure with him and he really cares about making your special day/event one to remember.  Our guests kept commenting on how beautiful the lighting was in the room.  The DJ for MSP was very accommodating and worked very well with us.  We gave them our timeline  and they played the songs spot on.  Throughout the night he played great songs that brought our perfect night to an awesome close.I was really worried that things wouldn't go perfectly for my wife but MSP really made a difference and I appreciate all their hard work.I would definitely recommend them to any of my friends who are interested in planning a wedding or event. Mystical Sounds Productions exceeded my expectations in every way. I hired them for my wedding last weekend at Koolau Ballrooms, which is naturally a beautiful place to have a wedding. But after Mystical Sounds put up their up lighting with hot pink lights, it took my breath away. It was the most beautiful wedding reception I could ever have imagined. Joe Ho was so helpful with any questions we had and always looked to making our wedding a very special event.  Our DJ on the night of the wedding, was the nicest guy and followed our timeline perfectly.  Every song was played on cue and every transition was timed perfectly. It was one thing to see pictures and videos of the up lighting. But to actually see it in person and see how it transform the entire banquet room was like a dream. We were looking for a professional sound and video production company to take care of our grad party (415 attendees) and Joe was highly recommended.  We met with him  and he showed us all that his company could do for us, but it was more than our budget.  We worked out the numbers until we were all satisfied, and Joe and Mystical Sounds were worth every penny!  He met with the people at the venue to ensure a smooth set up and he also worked with the band we hired - he took all of that extra planning out of my hands.  Joe bent over backwards to help us when he saw we needed help - he told us we all need to work together to make the kids happy.  And, the kids were very happy!! We had our wedding at the Moana Surfrider and booked MSP for our DJ services. We booked them only 2 mos. before the wedding but they were able to work with us and everything turned out great. My organization and I booked Mystical Sounds Productions not for a wedding or anything like that but for a more large scale event for a festival event down in Waikiki side.  I was pretty satisfied with the our business with them. From the start, with the point of contact all the way down to the ending of our event everything went smoothly with them logistically and with sound. Joe, the head honcho for the company is really professional and easy to work with.  When first contacting him he met with my organizations committee right away in one of our meetings to present what he had to offer with his sound company.  He was able to give us a really decent and reasonable quote and price for our event. He invited a couple members from our organization to check them out at one of their gigs on a weekend.  We were pretty impressed with the equipment and what they had to offer with their services so we booked them. They have good people working with them and all of their sound equipment is pretty legit.  I learned some new things from Joe's perspective and insight on today's sound systems and sound in general.  Unfortunately, on the day of our event Joe was not able to be there but Matt one of their sound engineers and the main person setting up did an excellent job adapting and adjusting to our crazy program for our event. Hopefully next year we are able to book and work with them again for our event. The experience was very positive and satisfying. We booked MSP following a recommendation from a friend for uplighting, monogram, universal lighting and DJ services for our wedding.  We thought they did a great job at all tasks.  The DJs were friendly & knew which music people responded to and adapted as needed.  Joe is also very easy to work with, he takes the time to meet with you and show you his products.  Their price point is a bit higher than other companies but we felt it was worth the cost.  Our monograms turned out great & the uplighting was exactly the color we were hoping for. This is the 2nd year in a row that we used Mystical Sounds DJ services for the St Andrew's Priory Father Daughter Ball.  The DJs are always on time, professional and great about accommodating the girls' requests.  They provide great age appropriate and "safe"  selections that spanned the ages from Kindergarten to Seniors!  The girls never left the dance floor!  When you deal with Joe (the owner) you never have to worry about your entertainment needs.  MSP delivers! After searching through many DJ's, I stumbled across Mystical Sounds. Originally booking with Joe Ho, three months before my wedding, I was referred to Matt, who ended up being the DJ for my wedding, along with Chris. He was very nice and accommodating with the songs that I was requesting and even recommended songs for certain dances or walk-ins when my mind went completely blank. He returned phone calls quickly and was very easy to talk to and humored me with my silly requests to get the old folks moving in the beginning of the reception and then can get all club-crazy with the younger folks as the night progressed. He did a great job! My Mom/Dad/Aunties/Uncles had a great time getting down and even us younger folks had our time on the dance floor! He played a good variety of songs that kept every generation up and dancing on the dance floor. Mystical Sounds Productions came through with flying colors. Although it wasn't their problem, they resolved every single technical issue that was encountered with our event. It was flawless. Nobody seemed to notice major issues, and everybody was completely blown away with the work that Mystical Sounds Productions can do. After meeting Joe at the January 2010 Wedding Expo, we knew we had to book Mystical Sounds as our DJ and uplighting vendor.  While in the process of wedding planning, Joe was always willing to offer new ideas that would make our wedding reception memorable for us as well as our guests.  Needless to say Mystical Sounds has the best uplighting equipment!!!  Our ballroom was transformed right before our eyes and our expectations were exceeded.  The DJ did an awesome job at keeping the vibe alive and played all our requested songs with no problems.  Joe and his crew did an awesome job at taking the lead so that we were able to enjoy every moment of our special day. A week before my wedding, I couldn't get in touch with the musicians to play during my ceremony. Mystical Sounds was already playing the music for my reception. I called Joe and asked if he could play music during the ceremony since I couldn't get in touch with my other musician. At the last minute they were able to provide all sound equipment in my garden where the ceremony was held. He saved us from a disaster of having no music during the ceremony. We booked Mystical Sounds for our wedding reception. The DJ was awesome and helped us with our slideshow (the format was off and they helped tweak it so it can be played) and some other technical difficulties. At that point I almost hyperventilated thinking about how much time we spent doing the slide show but they came through! They were our lifesavers! Thank you so much! Everyone enjoyed the dancing portion and the pictures on the projector screen. Even though the program ran over a little, the DJ played all the right songs for the short amount of time we had left!
