We have always loved their food when going into their store, so it was a no brainer when we asked them to cater our 140 person wedding. They were of course easy to work with. The food was wonderful! Overall impressed with the owner who made us feel at home here. He took time to talk about all the fun and "bacony" themed items patrons have brought through. Local comrodery at its best! Now the food. It was good. Not a southern BBQ, but more of a Northern influence. Slaw is a vinegar base instead of cream. Mac'n'cheese has a pimento cheese twang and the bbq sauce is a thinner less tomatoe base. None of these things are a bad thing by any means, matter of fact its Northern BBQ done right! My favorite part of my meal was the deviled egg. It was a standard deviled egg with a smooth center and a surprise pop of flavor, I frankly wasn't expecting but was pleasantly surprised! Sadly I have no photos to offer this review, I may have eaten every last bite before realizing I didnt snap a photo or two. I encourage you to give them a try yourself. Go when it's not busy like we did for a real down home feeling. Overall: $$, good Northern BBQ with sophistication, in a hole in the wall small town feel. The Pork Sandwich I had was delicious! The service was good. The owner was very nice. I going back for the ribs soon. Their hours are limited on some days is the only drawback so far.

Mr. Bacon has catered a few staff appreciation luncheons at my work, and my family enjoys eating in or taking our meals to go since they're now in our North Larry hood. I crave the brisket (OMG it's tender!) and their baked beans are unique and just the right amount of sweet and smoky. This mom and pop team really know their BBQ.  The smoked brisket is the best I've ever had. My favorite items are usually the rotating specials, including sinfully good burnt ends, and a Korean pork tacos. These guys are always thinking up something new and delicious. I need to take a minute and specifically talk about their sauces. They are made in house and also bottled so you can buy for home. The crimson blaze has that perfect heat level to compliment good bbq. Plus the branding pays homage to Jayhawks and Kansas, what's not to love. When getting your Kansas bbq fix make sure to check out Mr. Bacon. I've catered tailgates and holidays with the ribs and smoked hams, and eaten at the restaurant many times. It always brings me back. I'm a cross country road trip. Line was too long at Joe's in KC so came here instead. So happy we did. Phenomenal. Super friendly service, no wait, and the burnt ends were superb. I've heard Kansas is known for barbecue, and well, this place certainly did not disappoint. I'm not sure it is possible to have more tender meet. Great BBQ! The food was excellent (and we're picky) and the owner was very nice as well. The hours are limited but it's worth the timing to try this great local spot. Good food. Everything was very fresh. They had this awesome cole slaw..non traditional with a vinaigrette, homemade pepper relish, homemade canned pickle and onion, and a 5 dairy Mac and cheese from scratch.  The only thing I would change is the bun. These guys catered my brother's wedding, and I've eaten their food every time I possibly could since. Great people, amazing food, and they even sell great seasonings that I buy at the store. I really wish this business well. DELICIOUS meat and sides. Get their cream cheese mac & cheese if you ever get a chance.
